Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride

CHAPTER 105: 105, THE FIRST WATCH (OF THE NIGHT)
The death of both parents is inherently a sorrowful matter, something nobody wishes to bring up.
Therefore, Mia Foster didn’t feel it was right to say much more. She turned her tall chair around, her gaze shifting towards the stage.
At this moment, a Singer was sitting on a high chair, eyes closed, singing a poignant and melodious song into the microphone.
Mia Foster took a sip of her drink. "Do you singers also have work hours?"
"Yeah," Sophie Foster shifted her position, resting an elbow on the bar, looking towards the stage, "A dozen or so singers take turns scheduling times, each singing a set number of songs daily. If there are no strong requests from customers for specific songs, they can finish and call it a day."
"What? A dozen singers?" Mia Foster looked over, surprised. Sophie Foster took a sip of her drink nonchalantly and said, "Yeah, there are many customers here, and they’re all either rich or noble, so the tips are generous. That’s why so many singers compete to transfer here."
Sophie and Mia Foster chatted sporadically, while Titus Zane sat at the bar, idly playing with a glass, his detached demeanor distinctly out of place in the noisy nightclub.
"Miss, are you alone?" A man came over to hit on her. In the bar, there were many women caked in heavy makeup, but Titus Zane was the first he’d seen without a speck of makeup, and her dress was casual, without any intentional adornment.
Yet, it made her natural beauty stand out all the more.
Titus Zane turned to look at the man, her reaction a bit delayed. Ever since she refused to return to Paris with Logan Ray, it seemed as though she had lost all sense of purpose in life, no longer interested in anything.
"Why? Am I so handsome that you’ve become starstruck?"
Seeing that Titus Zane was just gazing at him without reacting, the man couldn’t help but tease her with a laugh. He then snapped his fingers at the bar, ordering a cocktail, and pushed it towards Titus Zane.
Titus Zane withdrew her gaze, bowing her head, while subconsciously leaning closer to Mia Foster.
It’s not about whether that man was as handsome as he claimed to be; anyone who had seen Nathan Moore and his brothers would be immune to other men.
Those four men, each with his own distinctive traits; they’re not just handsome. Nicholas Croft appears mature and stable, seemingly polite but actually quite the schemer, notoriously known as a lolicon.
As for Sophie Foster, he must really spoil her to the skies; otherwise, with his capabilities, there’s no way he would agree to let his little lady sing in such a mixed-up nightclub.
Nathan Moore is another story; he’s the very image of a genteel gentleman. On his wedding day, he broke the hearts of numerous young ladies from affluent families.
Felix Shaw, famous as a playboy, was born with a pair of charming ’peach blossom’ eyes, changing girlfriends more frequently than clothes. However, he’s also known for his generosity.
Evander Lancaster, indeed a gentle and refined man.
With a doctoral degree from a prestigious medical university, wearing his white coat during work, who knows how many young nurses he’s charmed.
Noticing Titus Zane’s attempt to avoid him, the man glanced towards her side only to have Mia Foster and Sophie Foster look back at him, their eyes locking with an apparent jolt of surprise in his.
"Hey, wildcat, you’re here too? Didn’t make enough tips today and looking to earn some extra on the side?"
As he spoke, the man had already stood up and walked over to Sophie Foster, his tone frivolous and his smile sleazy.
Sophie Foster gave the man a disdainful glance. "Is it any of your business?"
"It’s not my place to say, but..." The man sized up Sophie Foster from head to toe, his leering look quite offensive.
"If you’re willing to spend a night with me, I guarantee you won’t be shortchanged."
The man’s vulgar words made both Titus Zane and Mia Foster frown, only to hear Sophie Foster reply with disdain,
"I come at a high price, I’m afraid you can’t afford me!"
Met with Sophie Foster’s straightforward refusal, the man didn’t show weakness. Instead, his laughter grew more depraved, and his words cruder.
"I can’t afford you?" The man looked Sophie Foster up and down again, his face showing contempt. "Don’t you fucking act all high and mighty with me. A cheap woman like you probably got fucked to shreds by men long ago..."
"Go to hell!" In sync with the man’s comment, Sophie Foster exploded with a curse, followed by the man grunting and collapsing limply onto the floor.
Titus Zane and Mia Foster watched in astonishment as the man slumped to the ground. When they looked up, they noticed that Sophie Foster now had an unfinished bottle of Hennessy in her hand.
