CHAPTER 372: 368, A BIT SWEET (SPECIAL QIXI FESTIVAL DEDICATION)
Qixi, the Chinese Valentine’s Day, sees numerous couples choosing this day to confess their love, to present gifts, to go on dates...
To prepare for this day, Nathan Moore also quietly made a lot of preparations.
He went to the hottest Western restaurant, humbly learned from the chef, mastered fine culinary skills, made steak and dessert from scratch, all to personally cook a Western-style dinner for his woman on Qixi, to spend a romantic evening together.
In the apartment, the curtains were tightly shut.
Without the adornment of crystal lights, the spacious area was enveloped in haziness.
In the corner and on the dining table, candle holders were placed, their flickering flames like a beating heart, leaping incessantly.
At the rectangular dining table, a man and a woman sat opposite each other, the dark red liquid in their tall glasses, the heart-shaped steak, and the dancing candlelight all spoke of romance.
The man held a tall glass; his well-defined fingers cradling the stem were a sight to behold, complemented by the handsome face lit by candlelight.
"Honey, happy Qixi."
The woman also took a glass, her slender, fair fingers exuded an artistic essence as they gently clinked with the man’s. Although she didn’t verbally respond, the curve of her lips and the happiness in her eyes said it all.
Just as she was about to bring the tall glass to her lips, the man opposite spoke, his black onyx eyes twinkling with ambiguity, "After so many years of marriage, it seems we’ve never had a wedding toast."
Hmm?
The glass with the dark red liquid paused in front of her lips as Titus Zane raised an eyebrow.
"Nathan Moore, when did you become so romantic?"
"I always have been."
The four words fell, and Nathan Moore’s well-defined fingers grasped Titus Zane’s wrist, forcibly winding around his own, interlocking their wrists in a cross.
Under the woman’s somewhat playful gaze, a glass of dark red liquid was brought to the lips, the onyx eyes locked onto Titus Zane’s, the sexy lips parted lightly, and the dark red liquid gently flowed into the mouth.
"I’ve finished mine," Nathan Moore showed the empty glass to the woman. Titus Zane grinned slightly, turning her head, tilting her face upward, and in the man’s gaze, the dark red liquid slowly poured into her mouth.
Before she could swallow, a shadow loomed over, followed by a heavy kiss on her lips.
The man opposite kissed her, his large hand cradling her neck, grinding gently in a tender motion, and before she could swallow, the liquid in her mouth was stealthily taken by the man.
"It’s fragrant." After pulling back, Nathan Moore said to Titus Zane, his onyx eyes shining like little stars.
"Nathan Moore, has anyone ever told you that you’re very good at flirting?" Titus Zane touched her swollen lips, her expression woeful but unable to hide the sweetness in her eyes and brows.
"I only flirt with you."
The four words spilled from the man’s lips, a voice so soft and deep like a babbling brook, trickling into her heart, causing it to tremble.
"I’m ignoring you!" Titus Zane pouted, a mature woman of thirty showing her whimsical side for the first time, with all the charm of a shy young girl.
A gentle laughter rang out, a pleasant sound, as Nathan Moore shook his head helplessly.
Looking down, his well-defined fingers picked up the knife and fork, his carving of the steak was all elegance.
The tip of the heart-shaped steak was cut off and then he looked at the woman opposite, slowly bringing it to his mouth, their eyes met, and in the glow of the candlelight, romance pervaded all around.
A shadow loomed in her vision again, the man already holding a piece of steak in his lips, and before she could react, the small bite was forcefully placed into her mouth.
She felt a sense of panic because her heart kept leaping uncontrollably.
