Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 379 - 375, not that familiar.
CHAPTER 379: 375, NOT THAT FAMILIAR.
Tilly Zimmerman exaggeratedly held her face, blinking at Wesley Foley, "Director Foley, are you praising me?"
Her eyelashes fluttering like fly legs, which made Nathan Moore’s brow twitch incessantly.
Across the table, Wesley Foley’s joyful laughter rang out, "Director Moore, your secretary is so cute, she must be highly paid, right?"
This was already the second time Wesley "praised" Tilly Zimmerman for being cute, everyone present could tell it was meant sarcastically, only she herself continued to flirtatiously look at Wesley.
With an awkward smile, Nathan Moore said, "You flatter me, Director Foley."
He really regretted bringing this brainless woman along, he should have brought Ewan Zimmerman instead.
Efficient and tactful, unlike this Tilly Zimmerman, who only knew how to embarrass herself.
Socializing and drinking were inevitable parts.
Although Nathan Moore was utterly displeased with Tilly Zimmerman, he was at least satisfied with how she accompanied clients.
There it goes, she had just finished a drink, and before even pausing to breathe, she eagerly poured a second cup for the client, not caring whether he refused, just forcibly pouring it in.
Felix Shaw’s company was the buyer, so Nathan Moore had a substantial advantage at this dinner.
Even though Felix had said that they should sign the contract when it seemed appropriate, Wesley brought it up several times during the dinner, but Nathan Moore said that it’s best to discuss cooperation when completely sober.
With just one sentence, Wesley Foley was left speechless.
If not discussing cooperation, what were they out here socializing for? Just to drink and chat?
It’s not like they were that close.
Fortunately, he didn’t harass his assistant verbally, nor did he deliberately flirt like the previous two times.
However, Wesley soon realized the cunning intent of the man across him, which was to get his secretary to seduce him.
Otherwise, that woman wouldn’t keep flirting with him, her exaggerated praises almost placing him on a pedestal, and continuously toasting, when the assistant stood up to block the drinks, that woman was even more direct, with a half-real, half-fake tone.
"Miss Carrie, this drink is meant for Director Foley. If you also want to drink, see if Director Moore will accompany you!"
The interaction in the business world is subtle and euphemistic, and can also be called hypocritical. Such straightforwardness by this woman truly refreshed everyone’s views.
Whether you liked it or not, once said, no one could easily refuse.
At this moment, Nathan Moore truly understood the role Tilly Zimmerman played as a secretary in the company.
Wesley Foley wasn’t good with alcohol, and Tilly Zimmerman stubbornly refused to let Titus Zane take over. Initially, Nathan Moore was utterly disdainful of the secretary he brought; now, he somewhat felt he had brought the right person.
Lazily leaning against the chair, leisurely savoring the red wine, he watched his secretary already sitting next to Wesley Foley, her arm over his shoulder, chummy as ever, drinking and chatting. From the stiffness of their tongues, it was clear both were heavily intoxicated.
Even though it was Wesley Foley’s assistant, there were times when Titus Zane really couldn’t be of help, like now, Wesley’s blurred eyes conveyed a plea for help, but she really couldn’t bring herself to separate them as directly as this woman did.
Unless Nathan Moore spoke up, but from his entertained expression, it was clear he had no intention of intervening.
Just when Nathan Moore was feeling smug, he saw Tilly Zimmerman, who was "quietly" chatting with Wesley Foley, suddenly cover her mouth and frown, "Director Moore, I think I’m going to vomit, quickly help me to the restroom."
Nathan Moore’s wine glass paused at his lips, his handsome face, in an instant, turned green.
