CHAPTER 604: 600, SOMETHING HAPPENED
As an image flickered in his brain, he remembered the foreigner he had just met... his girlfriend...
He had only paid attention to the woman’s long red hair, her black sunglasses, wrapped in her boyfriend’s coat, and had overlooked... her height was similar to Titus Zane’s.
Pocketing his phone, Alder Locke punched the wall in frustration, annoyed with himself for taking his eye off the ball and allowing Titus Zane to walk right past him without stopping her.
However... recalling the scene carefully, that woman was walking very slowly... like she had no strength, and Titus Zane’s phone was...
Alder Locke suddenly realized, it was a kidnapping!
Titus Zane must have been kidnapped by that woman, otherwise, her phone wouldn’t have been left in the restroom.
Bending down to pick up Titus Zane’s phone, Alder Locke walked out of the restroom while dialing another number.
"...Grandpa Zane, Titus is in trouble, she’s been kidnapped..."
Caspian Warner circled around with Titus Zane directly to the elevator and headed to the underground parking garage, shoving her into the back seat before slipping into the driver’s seat himself.
Nathan Moore drove to the underground parking lot beneath the mall as he had agreed with Titus Zane. She would take the elevator directly down. With New Year’s approaching, the mall was crowded, making it almost impossible to find an empty parking spot. After circling inside for a while, he finally took a spot vacated by a man and his girlfriend as they left in their black Hyundai.
Waiting was agonizing, especially when they had planned to escape together. Nathan Moore did not turn off the engine, rhythmically tapping his knuckly fingers on the steering wheel.
The hotel where he was staying was near the department store, merely a ten-minute drive away. Now, in the morning, outside of rush hour, there was no traffic jam, and anxiety drove him to cover the distance from the hotel to here in just five minutes.
Glancing at his watch, Nathan Moore picked up his phone to call Titus Zane.
Just as the phone was ringing twice, the call was abruptly disconnected. Staring at the disconnected call on his phone, Nathan Moore knew that his woman must have gotten into the elevator, happily hurrying over to this spot.
The corners of his mouth involuntarily curled up. No matter if the old man would later travel to T City to bring her back, the immediate priority was to take his woman home first.
As for the future, if the old man insisted on causing trouble, as his woman suggested, they could settle abroad. He was willing to take the hassle of flying back and forth several times if necessary.
Then he thought again, something was not quite right. With the parking lot being so vast, it was not certain that his woman would find his car spot immediately. He dialed Titus Zane’s number again, putting the phone to his ear, ready to tell her his exact location.
After the phone rang for a while, the call was answered this time. Just as Nathan Moore was about to speak, a sharp voice exploded, "Boss is busy with important matters, quit fucking calling!"
As the busy signal followed, the smile on Nathan Moore’s face also froze. Titus Zane’s phone... why was there a man’s voice on it? Could it be... she was discovered during her escape?
Considering this possibility, Nathan Moore’s handsome face turned serious. After thinking for a moment, he dialed Titus Zane’s number again.
The call was hung up immediately upon connection, and even after redialing it was the same response. Putting away his phone, Nathan Moore turned off the car’s engine, hesitated not one bit, opened the driver’s door, and walked towards the elevator leading to the mall.
Everything was his idea. He was ready to face whatever punishment the old man had in store, alone. He couldn’t let his woman suffer any involvement or distress.
Rushing to the elevator area, Nathan Moore had never felt that waiting for an elevator could be so unbearable. Finally, an elevator descended to the bottom floor, and as the doors opened, when the two men saw each other, a clear tension sparked in the exchange of their gazes.
