Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride
Chapter 727: Why are you so good to me?
CHAPTER 727: WHY ARE YOU SO GOOD TO ME?
Felix Shaw was at a loss for words. It was the first time he realized that this woman could be such a chatterbox. While he was feeling a headache from it, Mia Foster looked up at him again and asked earnestly, "Felix, what were you thinking at the time? Why did you protect me under your body?"
When danger strikes, the instinctive human response is to flee and protect oneself first, yet Felix Shaw protected her instead. If it wasn’t out of love, what else could it be?
Felix Shaw chuckled helplessly, tousling Mia Foster’s already disheveled hair tied behind her head, and said, "Silly girl, I am a man."
It is only natural for a man to step forward in times of danger.
Yet Mia Foster was even more moved by Felix Shaw’s words. She pursed her lips and softly called out, "Felix... why are you so good to me?"
Felix Shaw...
Had he said something just now? What made her so touched? Or had she misunderstood something?
He could hardly bear seeing a woman look at him with such watery eyes, giving him the urge to press her down under him and love her fiercely.
Not wanting to let Mia Foster continue to disturb his peace of mind, Felix Shaw licked his lips and said, "Please, I’m kind of hungry."
"Oh, sorry, I forgot you haven’t had lunch yet," Mia Foster apologized and continued to help Felix Shaw walk towards the villa, leaving him no choice but to roll his eyes in silence, as if she had already eaten herself.
At the Shaw family’s villa, Melody Zachary wasn’t home, just as Oliver Shaw said, she had gone out to play cards with some ladies.
It was past noon, and the maids had already had their lunch. Upon hearing that the young master had not yet had his meal, they hurried into the kitchen to get busy.
If it were just Felix Shaw, he would simply ask the maids to cook a casual bowl of noodles. But with Mia Foster as a guest, they couldn’t just serve noodles.
While waiting for the maids to prepare lunch, Felix Shaw took Mia Foster to a guest room, handed her a set of his clothes to change into after her shower, and then he also went back to his own room to shower.
A visit to the construction site left both of them covered in dust and dirt.
Since she was at someone else’s home, Mia Foster quickly took a shower and then put on Felix Shaw’s clothes—light gray V-neck shirt and matching pants. Even though Mia Foster was tall, a man’s clothes were still too large on her. They didn’t bulge, but gave off a hip-hop vibe.
Rolling up the sleeves and pant legs, Mia Foster walked out of the guest room and arrived at Felix Shaw’s door, knocking lightly. Seeing the door was unlocked, she pushed it open.
This was her first visit to Felix Shaw’s room. Like most people, Mia Foster poked her head in first, glanced around, and then confidently stepped in, announcing, "Felix, I’m here..."
Getting no response, all she could hear was the sound of running water from the closed bathroom.
Knowing Felix Shaw was still in the shower, Mia Foster sat down on a lounger in the corner of the room and gently rocked back and forth.
This was her second visit to the Shaw’s. She wasn’t familiar with the maids at home, so she went to Felix Shaw’s room instead.
A few minutes later, the sound of water from the bathroom ceased, and Mia Foster subconsciously got up from the lounger and sat down, looking in the direction of the bathroom.
The door opened, and Felix Shaw emerged with just a bath towel wrapped around him, a towel in hand to wipe his short hair as he walked, pausing in a moment of surprise upon seeing Mia Foster in his room.
"Let me help you," Mia Foster got up and approached him, not showing any embarrassment or deliberately avoiding him due to the sole towel he wore. She had seen his physique before, so there was no need for affected modesty.
She naturally took the towel from Felix Shaw’s hand, and again, supporting him, walked him over to the bed, which left Felix Shaw speechless.
