Mr. Fairchild's Rose: She is Wild and Proud
Chapter 35: Why Not Like Someone Else?
CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: WHY NOT LIKE SOMEONE ELSE?
Chloe Landry and the two other girls stared at Summer in surprise.
The school student council members really have quite a few advantages, like being recognized as outstanding leaders or applying for credits. It took them several rounds of interviews to get in!
Maeve Lane noticed their expressions, raised an eyebrow, and smiled, "Oh wow, things just got interesting, huh?"
Chloe Landry’s face turned a shade of blue with anger, but she couldn’t find the words to retort and was nearly dying of frustration!
Summer looked at Maeve Lane helplessly, "And, it takes two to tango, Maeve. You also go home and write me a reflection."
Maeve, who was watching the drama unfold: "..."
After giving her instructions, Summer was about to leave, but Maeve stopped her, smiling, "Do you know where Julian Fairchild went?"
In that short amount of time, there was no telling where Julian Fairchild had gone. There was only one road up the mountain, yet this troublesome guy didn’t even know to wait for her.
Julian Fairchild? Summer thought for a moment, hesitated a little, and said, "He probably went to get something to eat first, but I’m not sure. I’ll ask around for you later."
Maeve expressed her thanks, and Summer smiled warmly at her, inviting, "No worries, I’m off now. Do you want to come along?"
This little junior was quite carefree and open-minded, even if she had a slightly cold facade, it was hard not to like her.
"You go ahead, I’ll come later."
"Alright."
After the crowd dispersed, Maeve felt a bit restless.
She couldn’t understand why she was so fixated on Julian Fairchild.
Perhaps it was because... no one had ever rejected her advances so bluntly?
She was well aware of her own allure and always confidently faced things head-on.
Because she had the assets to back it up.
She sat in the pavilion for a while, and suddenly lost the mood to continue hiking up.
Maeve put on her hat, glanced around, and decided to head back down the mountain.
It’s much quicker going downhill than uphill, and she was a bit tired. Initially, she wanted to buy a cable car ticket to go down, but she didn’t have any cash on her.
Her phone was also shattered, and Maeve sighed slightly, "No choice, I can only walk down."
Luckily, Palova is near Aurelia University.
The scenery of Palova is beautiful, the path fiery red, bustling with crowds. She lifted her eyes slightly, and suddenly, a small figure appeared in her gaze.
Julian Fairchild was standing alone by the lake, a girl next to him talking, and they looked quite familiar with each other.
Maeve lowered her lashes, and instead of leaving directly, she walked toward the two of them.
Julian Fairchild was somewhat distracted, not really listening to what the person beside him was saying.
Should he have waited for Maeve earlier?
"Julian Fairchild, would you be willing to?" The girl blushed and asked again, her voice barely a whisper by the end.
Without a moment’s hesitation, Julian Fairchild said, "No, I’m not."
The girl’s face grew even redder, but now it was from embarrassment, left feeling helpless.
Maeve had initially thought of making a "claim of territory," after all, wasn’t there a principle of first come first served? She was getting along well with Julian Fairchild, then suddenly someone else appeared to step in.
But unexpectedly, she arrived just in time to hear Julian Fairchild’s icy voice, sending chills straight through the heart.
She saw the girl who must have wished for the ground to swallow her up.
Maeve suddenly felt a bit of sympathy for the girl, offering words of comfort, "He’s just like that. You see, I’ve been rejected by him several times. It would be strange if Julian Fairchild actually agreed."
The girl looked up, a bit gratefully, at Maeve.
Such a beautiful girl was rejected so many times, she felt her own rejection wasn’t such a big deal.
Julian Fairchild, hearing Maeve’s voice, tensed slightly.
He didn’t turn around, but he could feel Maeve’s gaze on him—
"Maybe try liking someone else."
