Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 171 - 170: Let Others See Your True Colors
CHAPTER 171: CHAPTER 170: LET OTHERS SEE YOUR TRUE COLORS
The Sullivan Corporation initially was just a small company with about a dozen employees.
After Claire Sullivan took over, the Sullivan Corporation gradually developed. In the beginning, she wasn’t afraid of hard work and was very savvy, handling business engagements ruthlessly with the sole aim of expanding the company.
Later on, she met Joel Quinn. Not long after they got together, in order to match Joel’s status to hers, she placed him in a management position and retreated into the background to enjoy life as a lady of leisure.
Joel Quinn lived up to expectations and worked diligently. He had a knack for management, and unknowingly, the Sullivan Corporation came under his control. Plus, with support from The Grant Corporation over the past few years, the Sullivan Corporation became a notable second-tier business in Solaria.
Today, Serena Sullivan came with only Yaya.
As soon as she entered the Sullivan Corporation, a beautiful receptionist approached her with a smile and said, "Miss Sullivan, President Quinn asked me to wait here for you."
Serena smiled but did not reply.
The Sullivan Corporation was different from The Grant Corporation.
No matter how much Ethan Grant disliked her, he wouldn’t really do anything to her!
But the Sullivan Corporation had become Joel Quinn’s territory. When she initially requested to join the Sullivan Corporation, he agreed so quickly, probably thinking she was walking into a trap.
"Push me up, please," Serena responded in a calm voice. Even though she hadn’t returned to the Sullivan Corporation in four years, she was still very familiar with everything here.
The receptionist’s smile froze at Serena’s command. She turned to nod at a nearby colleague, who then pushed Serena into the elevator.
The receptionist mentioned that President Quinn was in an important meeting and would leave once Serena was taken to the conference room.
This was a deliberate move to leave Serena hanging and to give her a hard time, making it clear who now owned the Sullivan Corporation!
Serena wasn’t foolish enough to wait obediently in the conference room for Joel Quinn to arrive. She looked up at the two surveillance cameras in the conference room and said to Yaya, "Let’s wander around outside."
Yaya spoke little but was very obedient.
Yesterday, she hadn’t helped Serena with her bath out of disdain, but because Ethan Grant had instructed her not to.
Yaya pushed Serena out into the corridor. After four years of absence, the top-floor office area had changed significantly—even her previous office door looked different.
Serena raised her hand, preparing to turn the doorknob and enter. The door, which wasn’t locked, automatically swung open, and a woman’s mocking voice drifted out through the door gap.
"Your work? Without me, would you have made a name for yourself?"
Serena looked inside and saw Ruth Hale with her arms crossed in front of her chest, speaking disdainfully. Across the table from her stood a girl in a black suit.
With her back to the door, Serena couldn’t see the girl’s face, but it was evident that, under Ruth’s scolding, the girl’s head was bowed low, her shoulders trembling slightly as if she were crying.
"But this is mine!"
"You have gone too far," the girl sobbed. "I will tell others about your true nature!"
"Go ahead!"
Ruth Hale paid no heed to her threat; she was an authority in Solaria’s jewelry design world.
If a small-time designer accused her of plagiarism, someone still had to believe it first.
The smile on Ruth’s lips grew wider as she continued, "Even if you go out and speak of these things, you need someone to believe you first."
"Silly girl, don’t be in such a hurry, okay? In a few more years, I’ll certainly make you famous.
Ruth softened her tone, the harshness in her voice dissipating.
A small designer was not so easily manipulated. If the girl’s work wasn’t good, would someone of her status stoop so low to speak to such a lowly person?
"Stick with me, and you won’t miss out on any benefits."
At these words, seeing the girl’s eyes redden and her head bow, the smile on Ruth’s face grew wider.
How dare she threaten her, without realizing who she was! And who Ruth was!
Ruth lifted her head in triumph, her eyes full of smiles as she glanced toward the door. When she saw Serena sitting in a wheelchair through the door gap, she froze, and the smile on her face vanished, replaced only by a wave of panic.
