CHAPTER 184: CHAPTER 183: THIS IS THE HAPPY LIFE SHE WANTS

Pitiful people must have detestable traits!

Claire Sullivan chose him herself, deciding that Joel Quinn was the man she wanted to spend her life with.

Even if Serena Sullivan spoke ill of Joel Quinn and his daughter, she wouldn’t believe it, let alone others.

"Serena, what are your plans next?"

Both Finn Chandler and Anna Morgan asked Serena Sullivan.

"Sleep."

Serena Sullivan replied with just two words, then put down her phone.

She leaned against the wheelchair, gazing out at the night view through the window.

The wind blew gently inside, cool and refreshing, waking her up completely.

The road she takes is under her control!

After a long while, as the darkness enveloped the surroundings ever more quietly, Serena Sullivan’s phone rang again.

She knew it wouldn’t be Finn Chandler or Anna Morgan; since she said she was going to sleep, they wouldn’t disturb her.

Who could it be?

It wasn’t too hard to guess. She had stored many numbers before, classmates, friends; once someone falls from a height, those who remain are just a handful.

The name "Ethan Grant" popped up in her sight. It took Serena Sullivan quite a while before chatting with the phone’s owner.

In person, she doesn’t want to say a word to him.

But staring at the name "Ethan Grant" on the phone, she found herself chatting, sentence by sentence.

Perhaps this name allowed her, while moving forward in boundless darkness, to touch a glimmer of light.

The Sullivan Residence

Joel Quinn stepped into the hall in his suit, Claire Sullivan stood up early from the sofa to greet him with a smile.

"You’re back."

The life she longed for was having a man who truly cared for her, doing his laundry, cooking meals, taking care of their child at home every day, then waiting for him to return from work to enjoy a delicious dinner together.

Zoe Quinn wasn’t her biological daughter, but for Claire Sullivan, there was no difference.

So, this was the happy life she wanted.

What she couldn’t get before became a demon in her heart, making her want everything even more, even if it was wrapped in layers of luxurious apparel, she found it delightful.

"Hmm."

Joel Quinn smiled at Claire Sullivan; their eyes met, and seeing the tenderness in his eyes, Claire Sullivan smiled even more blissfully.

"I’ll have someone call Zoe down for dinner."

Since returning from the hospital, Zoe Quinn had locked herself in her room most of the time, which worried Claire Sullivan, who wanted to comfort her but didn’t know what to say.

"Alright." Joel Quinn replied, as he led Claire Sullivan to the dining table.

The servants brought out the dishes, serving Joel Quinn and Claire Sullivan.

Zoe Quinn hadn’t come down yet, and Claire Sullivan looked at the man beside her, hesitant to speak.

"Do you want to ask me about Serena’s matters?"

Joel Quinn preemptively asked with a smile.

"Yes." Claire Sullivan nodded; Serena Sullivan was, after all, flesh of her own flesh, even if she once considered aborting, even if she hated Serena Sullivan for destroying her happiness, even if their relationship now could never return to what it was.

"She reported to The Sullivan Corporation today; I arranged for her to join the design department."

Joel Quinn said, picking a piece of fish for Claire Sullivan. Instead of giving the fish right away, he carefully removed the tiny bones first.

Claire Sullivan liked eating these types of fish with many bones, yet she often got them stuck in her throat.

Thus, Joel Quinn would always take on the task of removing the fish bones.

Claire Sullivan looked at the bowl with the deboned fish, took a bite, and a smile emerged from within her heart.

Why can’t Serena accept how happy she is!
