Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 19: Slap Her
CHAPTER 19: CHAPTER 19: SLAP HER
People around saw Zoe Quinn calling Ethan Grant to complain, and everyone was worried for Serena Sullivan.
Four years ago, someone merely called Serena a fatherless bastard, and Ethan went over and beat that person up.
Over the years, Ethan’s brash impulsiveness has gradually been replaced by cold ruthlessness, and he has become Mr. Grant, whom everyone in Solaria fears and reveres.
The fact that Serena is an old lover and Zoe is the new favorite — it’s clear whom the ruthless Ethan Grant will support.
In the end, Zoe called several times, but the other side just kept "ringing" without anyone answering. She looked at the people staring at her, then glanced at Serena talking to Anna Morgan, and cried, "Brother Ethan must be in a meeting, I’ll go find him," before running off.
After Zoe ran away, Serena felt the air around The Grant Corporation become a lot fresher. She looked at the crowd still discussing her and Anna and said with a smile,
"Everyone, it’s best not to take random pictures."
"The Morgan Family’s legal team is the best in Solaria, and if you don’t want a lawsuit, you’d better act as if you haven’t seen anything today."
Her own matters were of no concern, but it was different for Anna.
She had helped her slap Zoe Quinn, and who knew what kind of stories might spread. Outsiders didn’t care about the origins of issues, nor about who was right or wrong.
After hearing Serena’s words, these people weighed it in their minds and immediately put their phones away.
Feeling uneasy, Serena instructed Anna Morgan, "Have someone keep watch at The Grant Corporation’s entrance. Those people probably took photos of you hitting someone."
She remembered those people, softly telling Anna one by one, "If there are photos, you must get them deleted."
After bending down to listen, Anna Morgan nodded repeatedly, then anxiously asked, thinking of Zoe Quinn going to find Ethan Grant, "Serena, did I cause trouble for you?"
Zoe Quinn is Claire Sullivan’s treasured daughter and now she has become Ethan Grant’s darling.
These two people happen to be the deepest pain in Serena’s heart.
"No." Serena shook her head, and after a slight smile, her eyes turned cold. If possible, she would have handled it herself.
"Anna, thank you!" Serena looked down at her useless legs. Today, without Anna, she would have just sat there being ridiculed and humiliated, unable to do anything.
"The interview’s starting, push me over, please."
Not far away, among the bushes stood two men, one in front of the other. The leading man, Ethan Grant, had a composed and handsome face. When he heard the word "cripple," his eyes instantly turned icy and piercing, his hands slowly clenching into fists, causing the veins on the back of his hands to bulge, creating such a menacing presence that the man behind him, Yvette Sterling, broke into a cold sweat.
Soon after, the phone in Ethan Grant’s pocket began to vibrate non-stop, but he stood still, not answering the call.
"Sir," Yvette nervously watched Mr. Grant, who seemed ready to explode at any moment, and gently suggested, "Should we go over and have a look?"
"Let’s go!" Ethan Grant spoke, his eyes filled with ruthless resolve, coldly saying, "Slap her!"
"Slap who?" Yvette paused for a moment, looking at Ethan as he slowly turned to him, realizing he had asked a stupid question.
The gentleman was ruthless enough to smash his mother-in-law’s car, what would a slap mean?
"Sir, the interview is about to start."
Yvette had to change the topic to quickly calm the aura of hostility emanating from Mr. Grant.
Ethan Grant didn’t respond; he took out a cigarette, watching the people in the corridor, taking deep drags. Yvette truly worried that with Mr. Grant smoking so intensely, those in the front would smell the smoke, and as soon as they turned around, they would see the man Zoe Quinn was desperately searching for standing right behind them.
"Is everything arranged?"
Thinking of her handmade drawing from last night, Ethan instantly felt much calmer.
"Yes, sir, rest assured."
After Yvette spoke, Ethan Grant left, still smoking his cigarette.
