Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure
Chapter 27: Settling Accounts
CHAPTER 27: CHAPTER 27: SETTLING ACCOUNTS
"Serena Sullivan!"
Zoe Quinn couldn’t believe Serena dared to treat her this way; after all, she was the Sullivan Family’s young miss and, more importantly, Ethan Grant’s beloved woman.
"You vicious woman, you’ll die a horrible death!"
"Brother Ethan and Mom will definitely come to settle with you..."
Before she could finish shouting, a bodyguard found a rag and stuffed it in her mouth, blocking all her upcoming cries.
Serena wiped the smile off her face and gently said, "Zoe Quinn, I came back for you!"
"The account from four years ago, let’s ..."
The last four words, "settle this properly", she said very slowly.
After saying this, she reached out to open the bathroom door and walked out, leaving only the muffled "mmm" sound echoing behind her.
Behind the door, Serena, stepping out, smelled the fresh air and took a deep breath.
The bodyguard finished handling Zoe Quinn and Shannon Shaw and came out, apologetically handing over the phone that was on a call.
"I’m sorry, Miss Sullivan, it’s my negligence."
"It’s not your fault." Serena shook her head with a smile, taking the phone from his hand.
If she wasn’t a cripple, she wouldn’t need Anna Morgan’s bodyguards to come and deal with these two for her.
As Serena put the phone to her ear and said "hello," she heard Anna’s anxious voice from the other side.
"Serena, are you alright? Are you hurt?"
"No!" Serena replied while subconsciously glancing at her own wrist.
Zoe Quinn had pushed her hard earlier, causing her shoulder and arm to hit the sink, scraping and bleeding a bit. It hurt.
But such a minor injury, she didn’t need to tell Anna.
"I was so worried, what on earth does that Zoe Quinn want to do?"
Anna shouted angrily, wishing she could rush over immediately to teach that crazy Zoe Quinn a lesson.
"You treated her like a sister before, pleasing her father and daughter, what did you ever do wrong? Four years ago, they joined forces to..."
At this point, Anna noticed Serena’s breathing had become heavier, so she changed the subject, "Are you still at the mall?"
"Anna, don’t come over." Serena knew Anna wanted to see her, so she stopped her, "I’m really okay."
"I’m heading back to Willow Yarrow now."
"Serena, you were almost bullied by them; how can I focus on shooting?" Anna said, her voice softening, "It’s all my fault; if I hadn’t taken off my watch, you wouldn’t have had to stay so long in the bathroom."
"Anna." Upon hearing Anna blame herself, Serena looked down at the watch on her wrist.
This watch was custom-made for her by Finn Chandler, one for each of the three of them.
If Serena encounters danger outside, she just needs to press the button next to the watch.
Anna, shooting a costume drama, would certainly take off her watch.
And Finn Chandler wasn’t in Solaria, so after getting the message, he could only call Anna.
What Serena could do was buy time, waiting for Finn to contact Anna or Anna’s assistant, who would then call the bodyguards outside.
She dialed Ethan’s number on her phone to divert Zoe and the others’ attention, so they wouldn’t immediately make a move on her.
"Today’s incident was completely accidental, and you can see, I can handle it. Focus on your filming, okay?"
Serena softened her voice to say.
"Alright, alright." At the word "okay," Anna was persuaded, "You come back immediately, and call me if you go out."
"Okay." Serena agreed, but she really didn’t want to trouble Anna too often, disrupting her life.
She was a cripple!
She couldn’t live entirely dependent on others!
