CHAPTER 80: CHAPTER 80: HOW GOOD COULD JOEL QUINN POSSIBLY BE

Ethan Grant carried Serena Sullivan directly into the bedroom. The room wasn’t lavishly decorated; it seemed simple, but the numerous paintings on the walls were evidently from renowned artists.

The old man wasn’t someone consumed by a lust for money. On the contrary, he was refined and perceptive. Unfortunately, age had caught up with him, and over the years, he found himself increasingly overwhelmed by the affairs of The Sullivan Corporation.

"Serena."

On the bed, the old Mr. Sullivan called out worriedly upon seeing Ethan Grant carry Serena in. The commotion outside was so loud; there was no way he hadn’t heard any of it.

The servant had already placed a chair by the bed, and Ethan Grant gently set Serena Sullivan down, helping her into the most comfortable position.

Throughout the whole process, he didn’t say a word. Serena looked down at her own feet and at the shards beside the chair that hadn’t been cleaned up.

"Grandfather, I’ll wait outside."

The cold voice came again, and Serena heard footsteps moving away from her.

"Serena!"

She was lost in thought when the old Mr. Sullivan called out several times.

"Grandfather."

"I just have high blood pressure, it’s nothing serious. Why did you all rush in?"

He had just woken up and saw Ethan Grant, then heard the sounds of Serena and Claire Sullivan arguing outside.

"I came to check on you." Serena smiled faintly, not willing to stay at The Sullivan Family’s house, even upon returning to Solaria.

"Heh!"

The old Mr. Sullivan followed this by thinking of Claire Sullivan, his daughter who had once been severely hurt emotionally. Joel Quinn had appeared quickly to win her over.

Initially, he thought it was enough for Claire to be happy, allowing their relationship to develop and even letting Claire transfer him to work at The Sullivan Corporation.

Over time, he realized that Claire and Serena’s mother-daughter relationship had grown worse, and in Claire’s eyes, there was only Joel Quinn.

The old man scrutinized Serena, his gaze falling upon her legs.

Beautiful from a young age and smarter with a keen eye compared to Claire, he originally intended to entrust The Sullivan Corporation to her.

Who could’ve known that a car accident would leave her legs damaged? The thought made his heart ache.

"Seeing you return has made them anxious."

His tone turned grave, after the car accident, Serena spent four years outside, and during this period, The Sullivan Corporation thrived with the backing of The Grant Corporation. Serena’s sudden return understandably made them afraid!

"Your mother wants me to transfer all my shares to Joel Quinn!"

Old Mr. Sullivan mentioned "Joel Quinn" with cold sarcasm, the smile on Serena’s face stiffened, and she replied coldly, "Claire Sullivan has already given him ten percent of her shares. Grandfather, if you give him yours, The Sullivan Corporation will be renamed Quinn!"

"Yes!"

"If the daughter was raised that way, how good can Joel Quinn be?"

Said the old Mr. Sullivan firmly. Four years ago, during The Brilliance Competition, the old man was unwell and did not attend. After the competition ended, he learned Serena had been expelled, accused of plagiarizing Zoe Quinn’s work.

The very work he saw Serena design was later rightfully claimed as Zoe’s.

This matter only made the old Mr. Sullivan dislike Zoe and her father even more.

Without waiting for Serena’s return, neither The Sullivan Corporation nor The Sullivan Family would be under their control!

"Yes!" Serena’s gaze turned somber, and she responded lightly.

"But with Ethan watching over you, you won’t be in any danger." The old Mr. Sullivan changed the topic, mentioning Ethan Grant.

Serena thought of the man who had just held her, her heart flustered. She turned her head and saw Ethan outside smoking, clenching the cigarette butt as he was about to take a puff. Catching Serena’s gaze, he was so startled that he didn’t dare continue smoking.

He moved aside, looked at the cigarette in his hand, and tossed it on the ground to extinguish it.
