Mr. Hawthorne, Your Wife Wants a Divorce Again
Chapter 42: Jade Beauty Cream
CHAPTER 42: CHAPTER 42: JADE BEAUTY CREAM
After Ann Vaughn left the pharmacy, she returned directly to the Vaughn Clinic. She had just hung the "Open" sign when someone walked in.
"Hello," a girl wearing a mask that completely covered her face walked in. She took a moment to look around the clinic, and when her gaze landed on Ann Vaughn, who was wearing a sky-blue fitted dress, a flash of surprise appeared in her eyes. "Is the doctor here?"
"I am the doctor." Ann Vaughn smiled faintly at the girl. "Have a seat. What would you like to consult about?"
The girl was surprised that the doctor of the Vaughn Clinic was so young. She was stunned for a moment before she took off her mask, revealing a face full of acne.
"I’ve been breaking out for over two months now. Initially, I thought it was due to excess heat because my skin has always been good, and pimples would disappear quickly. But this time, neither topical ointments nor medication have worked, and it keeps recurring, turning into this mess..."
Just more than two months ago, she was the beauty of her college department, but now even those who used to pursue her avoid her when they see her.
Sometimes, even she felt repulsed by her own ravaged face.
Ann Vaughn gestured for her to place her hand out and then checked her pulse.
After a moment, Ann Vaughn withdrew her hand. "It’s not a big problem. You should stop using the skincare products you are currently using, and especially avoid high-sugar and spicy foods in your diet."
"I haven’t eaten spicy foods in a long time because I’ve been afraid..." the girl began to speak hastily, then suddenly seemed to remember something, her expression changing several times.
Ann Vaughn didn’t say much more. She stood up and took out two small, exquisite sky-blue porcelain bottles from the cabinet and placed them on the table. "Given your current condition, just apply these two medicines regularly, control your diet, and let your skin breathe, and you’ll be fine soon."
"Really?" The girl picked up the two porcelain bottles, looking somewhat dubious. Over the past two months, she had visited many beauty salons and several hospitals, and each time they assured her she would get better.
By now, she was somewhat numb to it all.
Ann Vaughn could tell that the girl didn’t quite believe in the effectiveness of these two bottles of medicine, which left her feeling a bit helpless.
YuYan Cream was a beauty essence that she had extracted after a long period, with unexpected miraculous effects on women’s skin problems.
Due to the limited materials, there were only less than twenty bottles available, but whenever she told the guests that YuYan Cream was absolutely effective, they would push it back to her, full of disbelief, thinking she was exaggerating.
In response, Ann Vaughn was somewhat bemused, as if no one believes the truth anymore these days.
"Anyway, my face is already in this state, so I’m not afraid of it getting worse," the girl gave a bitter smile, put her mask back on, and decided, "Doctor, how much do these two bottles of medicine cost in total?"
After sending off the girl, new patients soon walked into Vaughn Clinic, doubling the number from the previous days.
Ann Vaughn continued her practice and, after consulting about ten patients, hung up the "Resting" sign. She planned to take a taxi back to The Water Terrace but received a call from Professor Chaney.
As soon as Ann Vaughn answered the call, a burst of noise came through the line. It was some time before she could hear what Professor Chaney was saying, and her face changed immediately.
She hurriedly locked up the clinic and rushed to the hospital.
Ann Vaughn still remembered her first impression of Second Uncle Hawthorne: steady and honest, appearing to be a very reliable elder.
But first, there was the incident of poisoning new medicines at Hawthorne Corp., fabricating medical accidents, and urging patients to make a fuss, tarnishing the reputation of Hawthorne Corp.
Now he was causing a scene at the hospital, making it impossible to associate him with the words "honest and straightforward."
Thinking about this, Ann Vaughn stepped out of the elevator and walked towards Old Master Hawthorne’s hospital room, only to find Second Uncle Hawthorne with the Hawthorne Family, arguing endlessly outside the room.
