Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!
Chapter 135: Elite Society
CHAPTER 135: CHAPTER 135: ELITE SOCIETY
Seraphina Redgrave walked past, holding her book expressionlessly, deceiving herself into thinking they were invisible.
At this moment, a few girls came towards her, and a sarcastic voice sounded: "It’s just an exam, isn’t it? Some people really think they are the main character of a chick-lit novel, making such a big fuss, aren’t they afraid of being laughed at?"
Upon hearing this, Seraphina looked up and saw a girl standing in front, wearing a black dress and holding a book like her. Her hair was long, straight, and black, giving off a pure scholarly vibe.
But the girl looked quite unwell, as if she were sick, even her lips appeared pale.
The girls around her stood behind her; obviously, she was the one with the most authority in this little group.
And the one who mocked Seraphina was a follower next to this girl.
Coincidentally, Seraphina happened to know this follower.
Serena Lowell.
Seeing a familiar face, Seraphina couldn’t help but sneer: "What, switched owners?"
"What nonsense are you spouting!" Serena was so angry she almost exploded.
"Seraphina says you’re a lackey, the kind that betrays your master."
Ronan Yates ran over and stood behind Seraphina, rolling his eyes dramatically at Serena.
Serena’s face flushed red with anger, and the girl at the front pulled her back as she was about to charge forward. Then the girl herself stepped up to Seraphina, smiling: "Seraphina Redgrave, right? I’ve heard about you, how calm and resourceful you were in the auditorium. I’ve been on sick leave at home and missed seeing your performance. It’s a real pity."
This is...
Seraphina had always had a good memory; wasn’t this the girl who had called Ethan Sterling "second brother" and brought him desserts at the Sterling Family’s old house before?
She was Ethan Sterling’s non-blood-related sister, Selena Quinn.
As expected, the next second, she extended a hand to Seraphina: "I’m Selena Quinn, also from The Law School, pleased to meet you."
What is going on lately? After the fall of the Redgrave Family, people from The Sterling Family have been appearing before her one by one.
Seraphina stood in place, looking at the girl’s hand, and did not shake it, only nodding politely with a smile.
Selena Quinn stood awkwardly.
"Sylvia Shaw, are you out of your mind?" Serena Lowell looked angrily at Seraphina, and the expression of the girl next to her was not much better.
This time, Ronan couldn’t pretend to be fearless but instead whispered behind Seraphina: "Seraphina, this one isn’t easy to mess with, she’s The Sterling Family’s chosen one, Ethan’s sister, and also the President of the Elite Society. If you get on her bad side, you might be forced to drop out."
This one’s background is something Seraphina cannot afford to provoke.
"Oh."
Seraphina replied lazily, without changing her expression, and turned to leave.
"Sylvia Shaw." Selena Quinn spoke up, "Do well on your exams, I look forward to seeing you in the Elite Society."
Selena Quinn smiled softly.
Once these words were spoken, Seraphina had no reaction, but there was an awe from those nearby.
As if the Elite Society was such an extraordinary place.
"Selena, you really overestimate her. With her ability, there’s no way she can get into the Elite Society."
"Exactly, not even many from Sovereign University can achieve SSS, let alone when law is just her minor."
"If everyone could get SSS, would there be any need for Selena’s Elite Society?"
"This Sylvia Shaw just muddles through at The College of Arts, day by day not knowing what she’s doing—forget SSS, not even getting F is pretty good."
Serena’s face was full of ridicule, making the girls already disapproving of Seraphina even more unfriendly.
Ronan Yates was immediately angry: "What on earth gives you the right to judge Seraphina? Do you even know your scores?"
"Serena, say less."
Selena Quinn’s face was dark, showing displeasure as she looked at Serena Lowell, then back at Seraphina with a gentle smile: "I quite admire your way of handling things and I believe in your ability. I’m sure you’ll achieve good scores and enter the Elite Society."
Seraphina had no idea what the Elite Society was, smiled politely, and turned to leave.
Even after receiving such a reaction, Selena Quinn’s face showed no displeasure, only appreciation in her eyes.
Seeing Selena’s expression, the faces of the girls nearby didn’t look too good.
In Sovereign University, there were thousands hoping to earn Selena’s admiration. Who would have thought she favored a transfer student who seemingly accomplished nothing? What’s so impressive about her?
Looking to achieve good grades?
That also depends on whether they agree or not.
Seraphina headed toward the examination hall, with Ronan trailing behind: "Seraphina, your major has exams packed today, are you ready?"
"What is the Elite Society?"
Seraphina asked while walking.
Seeing Seraphina willing to talk to him, Ronan’s spirits lifted, walking beside her: "The Elite Society is the most famous organization in our school, existing since the founding of Sovereign College. Our school’s examination results are divided into S, A, B, C, D, E, F, with S being the highest grade."
Seraphina glanced at Ronan, indicating she understood, and urged him to continue.
"There are also two special grades, SS and SSS. SS is for a perfect score in all subjects, while SSS is for completing additional tests with a perfect score. Students who achieve SSS can enter the Elite Society."
Ronan’s face was full of pride.
Being admitted to Sovereign College already meant you were exceptional. To stand out among a group of high-IQ talents would mean you’re truly remarkable.
"Is it a competition of intelligence?"
"It’s not that simple," Ronan exclaimed, "Do you know what sort of people have emerged from the Elite Society over the years? Hold on, let me show you."
He pulled out his phone and began searching online.
"Sovereign College’s Elite Society has produced two Presidents, dozens of business tycoons, dozens of political leaders...and many top talents in various fields."
Upon hearing this, Seraphina stopped and turned back to Ronan: "That impressive."
She started to get interested.
"That’s right, the Elite Society is prioritized by the nation, opportunities many schools can’t access are directly allocated to the Elite Society. Many who graduate from there don’t even need to find jobs—they’re directly placed in key positions."
Ronan continued, "Even though we are all at the same university, some geniuses have their starting point set. Once they enter, they’re already winners; what’s there to worry about in their future lives?"
The Elite Society is something a small fry like Ronan wouldn’t even dream of.
"Directly climb to key positions?"
So, if she gets into the Elite Society, the rebuilding of the restricted area can be put on the agenda.
Seraphina smirked: "Alright, I understand, I am determined to get into the Elite Society."
Ronan looked at Seraphina’s back and was dumbfounded: "Seraphina, you seriously plan to join the Elite Society? You haven’t even studied law for two days, how can you qualify?"
Goodness.
Seraphina’s confidence might be a bit much; when the exam results are out, reality will hit hard.
