Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!
Chapter 150: Ethan Sterling Arrives
CHAPTER 150: CHAPTER 150: ETHAN STERLING ARRIVES
Today, Ryan Sterling is like the Supreme Emperor who has abdicated from a wealthy conglomerate, exuding an aura of nobility, smiling amiably.
Seraphina Redgrave stands among the guests, but her gaze falls on Chloe Quinn.
It’s her first time seeing Mrs. Sterling, and it’s clear she’s no longer young, but she’s maintained herself exceptionally well.
Her face shows no signs of aging, not even wrinkles, and her demeanor is gentle like water.
It’s hard to imagine such a gentle woman would have an affair with her friend’s husband while she was in labor.
Truly, what the eyes see isn’t always the truth.
"Welcome, everyone, to our wedding anniversary..."
Ryan Sterling takes the microphone, his voice powerful and resonant.
Seraphina Redgrave watches the two standing on stage, not clapping along, just standing still and watching.
She’s not a person with a particularly strong sense of morality, but watching the two on stage, thinking of Ethan Sterling’s current disposition, and those two towering gravestones, she feels disgusted and unwilling to move.
"Sylvia, you have to believe me, I genuinely want to be friends with you. After the banquet, I’m willing to go to great lengths to ask those seniors to let you join the Elite Society."
Selena Quinn stands next to Seraphina Redgrave, looking at her earnestly, clapping along with the guests.
"I don’t know if you’re sincerely trying to help me, but you are genuinely trying to use me to get closer to Ethan Sterling."
Seraphina Redgrave wears a mocking smile.
Their voices seem insignificant against the background of Ryan Sterling’s address to the room.
Hearing this, Selena Quinn’s expression freezes for a moment before she manages to speak a few seconds later: "Yes, I admit, today aside from wanting to introduce you to the seniors, I indeed have other intentions."
"I was thinking if you came, would Ethan come too? If Dad sees Ethan come, he’d definitely be pleased and might give up the idea of harming Ethan, and they might reconcile."
Selena Quinn speaks.
Truly a little protector of the Sterling Family.
"I’m really sorry, you’re overthinking it." Seraphina Redgrave shows her phone to Selena Quinn: "Ethan won’t be coming."
The phone shows a message from Seraphina advising Ethan not to come to the Sterling family estate.
Below is Ethan’s reply:
"I never planned to come, you’re overthinking it."
Selena Quinn is momentarily stunned by the message: "Is this how Ethan usually talks to you?"
He sounds rather harsh.
Not much like a lover.
"Yeah, Ethan doesn’t care about me at all, so don’t try to use me to navigate your Sterling family issues. Whether it’s making a move or mediating their relationship, I can’t do it."
Seraphina Redgrave states plainly.
She hates how Selena Quinn keeps following her around, and if this can make the Sterling Family lose interest in her, she’d even consider speaking about other rubbish things Ethan has done to her.
Selena Quinn is at a loss for words, looking at the message on the phone, not knowing how to react.
Could it be that Ethan and Sylvia were never that close?
"So you don’t have to insist on getting me into the Elite Society. From now on, let’s go our separate ways, and even if we meet at school, let’s act like strangers and don’t provoke me."
Seraphina Redgrave has finished what she wanted to do and turns to leave.
The crowd of guests is dense, practically shoulder to shoulder, and as Seraphina plans to squeeze through them, she hears someone shout:
"Young Master Sterling! Young Master Sterling is here!"
Young Master Sterling refers to Ethan Sterling.
The news shocks everyone, and no one listens to what Ryan is saying. They all start whispering softly:
"Aren’t the Sterling father and son not on good terms? Why would Young Master Sterling come in person?"
"Could it be that they’ve reconciled?"
"It seems coming today was the right choice. Missing out, having received an invitation, would surely offend Young Master Sterling."
Offending Young Master Sterling wouldn’t end well for anyone. Ryan and Chloe Quinn, standing on the platform, are taken aback, not expecting Ethan Sterling to show up today, and they can’t help but look towards the entrance along with the guests.
Chloe Quinn smiles gently: "Selena said she had a way to get Ethan Sterling to come to the banquet today. And she really did. If Ethan is here, that means there’s room for negotiation in your matters, so don’t be so harsh."
Hearing this, Ryan Sterling sneers: "You and Selena are just too optimistic. I’ll be grateful if Ethan doesn’t come and ruin the banquet."
His son is much more ruthless than he is, capable of anything.
Selena Quinn stands among the noisy guests, looking towards the entrance, with a peculiar feeling in her heart.
Having just read Seraphina’s message, she’s already accepted her claim that Ethan doesn’t care about her.
But in the next second, Ethan shows up.
Seraphina Redgrave is also stunned. How did Ethan come?
What’s happening?
She looks up.
Amidst the bright chandelier lights, a group of bodyguards parts the crowd for Ethan, clearing a path for him to enter.
The bodyguards have guns holstered at their waists.
Guests were all searched at security; no weapons were allowed into the banquet.
Upon seeing guns at the bodyguards’ waists, many people’s hearts skip a beat.
Classical music continues to play softly from the record, romantic yet dramatic.
With the music, a pair of leather shoes enters everyone’s view as they see Ethan gradually walking into the hall.
This is the only man in Seraphina Redgrave’s memory whose every appearance makes everyone present hold their breath.
His legs are long, stepping lazily, dressed in a black shirt casually paired with a black coat.
He seems not to care about the banquet at all.
Ethan Sterling enters the hall this way, his face sharply defined, yet expressionless, revealing no emotions.
Ethan’s features are deep, even more inscrutable today, his amber eyes full of coldness, dark tides hidden beneath.
The music stops abruptly.
The entire hall falls silent, so quiet that even the sound of his shoes on the floor seems lonely.
Despite the bright lights, the places he walks through feel desolately quiet.
With the lift of his gaze, murderous intent fills the space.
Almost all guests hold their breath.
"This is Ethan! Even more handsome than on TV."
Serena Lowell stands among a group of girls, her eyes only on Ethan, watching him step by step into the hall, as if only he carries color.
"Oh my, I can hardly breathe."
A girl whispers, though her voice sounds odd, as if suppressing a scream.
Why does she feel like the air around her is being sucked dry just because he walks by?
