Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!
Chapter 155: Bored, Heading Home
CHAPTER 155: CHAPTER 155: BORED, HEADING HOME
Seraphina Redgrave sat still, instinctively holding her breath, and turned to look at Ethan Sterling.
Ethan was surrounded by those consortium executives. Sitting in the main seat, he crossed his legs. From Seraphina’s angle, she could clearly see the cold in Ethan’s sharp eyes, a smile tugging at his lips but devoid of any warmth.
He looked at the red wine before him, his fingertips circling the rim of the glass, then suddenly grasped it fiercely, the veins in his arm prominently visible.
Seraphina watched the fragile glass nearly shatter in his grasp as Dad Lynch’s expression changed abruptly. He glanced at Seraphina and Leo Lynch, noticing their clothes were strikingly similar, and his face instantly darkened: "Leo, what’s this?"
Wasn’t this girl just chosen by Ethan to dance the opening dance?
Could it be that she also has some unclear relationship with Leo?
Leo was becoming increasingly unruly; he’d just held a secretive wedding at his grandmother’s house last time, disrupting everything with a girl named Seraphina, and now there’s another incident.
Leo immediately stood up and replied, "Father, it’s not what you think, Sylvia she..."
"Sylvia’s the girlfriend of the Second Young Master Lynch, right? They came together to Mia’s birthday party, and now they’re wearing matching outfits again."
Serena Lowell smiled, interrupting Leo’s words, "Sylvia really attracts men; even Young Master Sterling requested her for the dance."
"Are you in a relationship?"
Dad Lynch’s expression changed; this was no longer just a matter of forbidding his son from dating.
This is the dance partner Young Master Sterling invited to the opening dance in front of everyone, maybe he has an interest in her.
If Leo is indeed in a relationship with this girl, wouldn’t it be openly competing with Young Master Sterling?
The Lynch Family isn’t enough to withstand such ruin!
Selena Quinn sat in place, took a sip of champagne, her expression gentle and calm, seemingly without any ill intent.
She sat quietly, her eyes involuntarily drifting to Ethan on the main seat.
Ethan remained silent, yet the glass in his hand grew tighter, as if gripping onto his own sense of reason, not knowing when it might shatter.
What Selena saw, Seraphina naturally saw as well.
She suddenly regretted accepting Selena’s invitation.
"No, Sylvia and I are just friends."
Leo stood his ground explaining, but the situation only worsened.
Ethan’s possessiveness wouldn’t allow her to be friends with another man.
Seraphina stayed rooted, no longer looking at Ethan, a smile tugging at her lips devoid of amusement: "Second Young Master Lynch is too gracious, how could we be considered friends? Just for the sake of appearances, please take off your jacket. Wouldn’t want me to undress my gown."
Leo gazed at Seraphina, aware her words were to prevent Ethan’s misunderstanding, yet his bitter smile remained as he took off his jacket.
After removing it, he spoke, "Our matching outfits are purely coincidental, Serena, stop making remarks that cause misunderstandings."
"Oh? Really?" Serena laughed maliciously, "But when you arrived earlier, didn’t you share a ride on a sightseeing car? You spent the entire time chatting and laughing. If not lovers, then what?"
"Serena, the mess poured on you last time seems to have thoroughly contaminated your brain, hasn’t it?"
Seraphina gave Serena a cold look.
"I’m only describing what I observed, why are you upset?" Serena glanced at Seraphina, "I see, you danced the opening with Young Master Sterling, and now want to pose as pure before him."
The emphasis on "pose" was heavy in Serena’s tone.
Implying that Seraphina was seeking a stronger support.
"Serena, I advise you to stop attending school."
Seraphina stated expressionlessly.
She had no energy left to wrangle with Serena; she seemed to glimpse again that cold bone-breaker.
She closed her eyes, awaiting Ethan’s punishment.
The last time at school, merely speaking a few words with Leo nearly led him to crash into her; now Serena spread such half-truths, for Ethan not to act would be unlike him.
"Why must one put on an act after dancing the opening dance with me?"
Ethan spoke, his tone indifferent, devoid of aggression.
Seraphina instinctively held her breath.
Ethan suddenly spoke; Serena’s muscles twitched with tension, and cold sweat coated her back as she hesitantly pondered her words: "Sylvia, well, could want to, want you to like her."
Her words were stuttered, haltingly.
Serena felt doomed.
Ethan laughed loudly at this statement, a wild grin, gazing at Seraphina, raising his brows, his eyes deep as a fathomless sea: "Do you want me to like you?"
"I..."
"Wishful thinking."
Ethan sneered, his eyes filled with mockery, speaking to Seraphina: "Did you think a mere dance would land you in Ethan Sterling’s bed?"
Seraphina stared at Ethan in shock; what was this, had he gone mad? How could he say such things?
For a moment, she didn’t feel Ethan was mocking her, only puzzled as to why he hadn’t immediately brandished the bone-breaker.
Before everyone, Ethan scanned Seraphina up and down, the derision in his eyes deepening, word by word: "Really sorry, you’re the kind of stuff I’m not interested in."
Seraphina stared silently at Ethan.
Serena was ecstatic, realizing Young Master Sterling truly had no interest in Seraphina.
The Elite Society breathed a sigh of relief; as long as Ethan disliked her, they nearly planned to curry favor with Seraphina.
Selena sat motionless, eyes fixed on Ethan.
Though she saw him enraged earlier, his demeanor completely shifting before he erupted.
"Boring, heading home."
Ethan rose with his glass, not sparing the people at the table or Dad Lynch a glance, turning swiftly away, lips curling in an arrogant smirk.
Everyone quietly watched him, not daring to utter a word.
Nathan Ayers immediately followed.
The corridor of the Sterling Mansion seemed endless, adorned with famous paintings.
Ethan walked ahead, his lips curved in a smirk.
Gradually, the smirk faded, icy determination settling in his eyes.
In the next moment, he stood still, handing over the glass.
Nathan hurriedly approached to take it.
But Ethan suddenly released his grip, the glass plummeting to the floor.
Nathan caught the glass, but not completely.
The stem of the glass broke off, stained with blood.
Nathan stood stunned.
"Young Master Sterling..."
He looked up at Ethan, realizing he had been holding a snapped glass all along?
Ethan stood still, watching his palm, covered in blood.
He was unaware of his own ability to restrain his temper.
He smirked at Nathan: "I feel my courage has shrunk compared to before."
His voice sounded utterly hoarse.
