Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!
Chapter 167: You Like Ethan Sterling
CHAPTER 167: CHAPTER 167: YOU LIKE ETHAN STERLING
"Of course, you don’t need to say it outright; you just need to make them dislike me."
Seraphina Redgrave smiled faintly, "Just like that exam. You deliberately praised me in front of your group of friends so I’d do poorly and drop out of The Law School, claiming you want me to join Elite Society, instilling anxiety and jealousy in them."
She understood too well the jealousy of those people. As long as she made such a claim, they would definitely play tricks, preventing her from completing the exams properly.
Upon hearing this, Selena Quinn immediately became unhappy, "Sylvia Shaw, I’ve never said such things, and you shouldn’t maliciously speculate. I’ve never had such thoughts."
"Shut up."
Seraphina interrupted her with a smile, the corners of her eyes raised, "Student Quinn, didn’t your parents tell you that interrupting others is very impolite?"
Selena stood in place, looking extremely displeased.
"Then I hit you with an sss, slapped your face. You must hate me a lot, right? But unfortunately, you can’t show it, so you had to invite me to join Elite Society."
Seraphina continued, "It was quite a coincidence that Caleb Crawford and the others came to watch and mocked me. You must have been really pleased behind my back, right?"
Selena bit her lip, tears welled up in her eyes, "You clearly have bad intentions toward me, and now you’re turning it around? You’re too much!"
Hiss.
Green tea indeed.
Quite amusing.
"I believe in coincidences, but I don’t believe in repeated coincidences." Seraphina looked at Selena, sneering, "Does Student Quinn have a bad brain or think others have a bad brain?"
"You!"
Selena looked as though she was about to burst into tears.
"But up until now, I can only guess that your goal and Ryan Sterling’s differ. You don’t want Ethan Sterling’s life, but you also don’t seem to want to mend the relationship as you say. So, I don’t know why you’re against me."
Seraphina wasn’t affected at all, she walked up to her and stared directly into her eyes, speaking slowly and deliberately, "Until the night at The Sterling Family’s old house, I finally understood the reason."
Once Seraphina said this, Selena’s expression showed a slight crack. She couldn’t help but take two steps back and leaned against the tree, her face turning pale.
"You don’t consider Ethan Sterling your brother, do you? You like Ethan Sterling?"
Seraphina didn’t mince words; she struck directly.
Her voice wasn’t loud but inexplicably sent a shiver down one’s spine.
After Seraphina finished speaking, she saw Selena’s perfect mask being peeled away bit by bit, unable to maintain her previous weak disposition, only showing a face full of tension.
Selena’s gaze momentarily shifted to fear when she looked at Seraphina, as if contemplating something terrifying.
But soon, Selena avoided Seraphina’s gaze, struggling to control herself not to tremble, "What are you talking about? I don’t understand. He’s my brother, how could I have romantic feelings for him?"
Upon hearing this, Seraphina’s smile broadened, she closed in on Selena step by step, just like that day on the rooftop.
Seraphina’s soft lips brushed against Selena’s ear, speaking one word at a time, "After Ethan and I entered the pool, I noticed your eyes were red. But unlike now, you were genuinely sad then."
At that time, she unintentionally caught Selena’s expression.
It wasn’t surprise but pain.
That was absolutely not the reaction a sister has upon seeing her brother with a woman.
"I’m not..."
Selena continued to desperately struggle.
Seraphina didn’t retort, "One moment you’re befriending me, inviting me to The Sterling Family’s banquet, hoping Ethan would come because of me so you could see him again; another moment your hatred for me is almost uncontainable, wanting to disrupt my success, so you arranged for Elite Society’s people to share a welcome room with me, having Serena Lowell and Caleb Crawford humiliate me, even trying to create misunderstandings between Ethan, Leo Lynch, and me."
Suddenly, Selena started coughing violently, her breath ragged.
"Sadly, your tricks didn’t succeed. Instead, you paved a path for me, allowing me to establish The Defiance Society and even advertise it to some extent."
As Seraphina spoke, she comforted her while curling her lips, "If I were you, this habit of coughing out of nervousness would probably never get better."
Selena looked at Seraphina, her coughing escalating, her eyes reddening as she spoke, "What do you mean?"
"Stop pretending, are you afraid I’ll record it and show Ethan?" Seraphina saw through Selena’s little tricks, "Don’t you have one yourself?"
She already knew why Selena came to find her today.
Simply put, she wanted a video of Seraphina speaking from the heart to get out.
Seraphina subconsciously clenched her book, her pupils trembling.
"You should stop playing these harmless little tricks. If you truly want to win Ethan back from me, then compete with me openly and honestly. Let your Elite Society match up against my Defiance Society," Seraphina began, "That way, you’d be a respectable opponent."
Selena stood under the tree, a gust of wind blew, casting mottled shadows on Seraphina’s face.
She had grown so confident.
Not afraid of losing Ethan, not afraid of Defiance Society losing.
Selena looked at Seraphina, her face pale.
"I need to get back to class."
Seraphina turned, leaving without looking back.
Watching Seraphina’s departing figure, Selena’s tightly clutching hand on the book relaxed, slowly walking to the stone bench to sit down. When she opened the book, she revealed a long hole inside, containing a voice recorder.
Every word Seraphina had spoken, Selena couldn’t release publicly; she completely veered off the script, making even editing impossible.
The branches swayed incessantly in the wind.
Selena sat under the tree, her black hair blowing in the breeze, the pale face no longer resembling a delicate flower seeking sympathy.
Seraphina had indeed cunningly discovered her liking for Ethan.
Yes.
She liked Ethan.
Ever since entering The Sterling Family, she had never seen her father’s other two children until Ethan stormed into the mansion, wielding a gun to seize power.
She sat on the sofa, watching this domineering man walk into the house with a gun, and from then on, Ethan’s presence became unforgettable in her mind.
Even today, she could vividly recount every detail of that day concerning Ethan.
That day marked the end of her good times, and it was also when she fell in love with Ethan.
Selena knew her love was twisted, but she couldn’t control it.
Whenever Ethan and Ryan fought, she would always take Ethan’s side.
Yet Ethan merely regarded her and Chloe Quinn as mere survivors who had bowed to life.
Such a love was agonizing; she barely saw Ethan a few times, but each encounter was so precious.
She initially thought, with enough time, Ethan would accept her.
Until Ethan brought Seraphina back to The Sterling Family’s old house.
How could there be another woman by his side, he even allowed her into the hot spring left by his late mother.
