Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!
Chapter 43: Savior
CHAPTER 43: CHAPTER 43: SAVIOR
The Shaw Family, although elusive, is said to have immense financial power and influence, almost to the point of having complete control over the south.
Mia Redgrave stared blankly at Seraphina Redgrave: "What nonsense are you spouting?"
Could it be that Seraphina Redgrave has truly gone crazy? Does she think that by casually claiming she’s from the Shaw Family, she can avoid being sent back to the restricted area?
Seraphina Redgrave stood still, her eyes coldly glancing at Mia, her face filled with conviction.
"Hey, her gown looks like it’s Kelly’s work. If she really came from the restricted area, how could she deserve to wear this gown?" a wealthy young man said to his companion.
"It must be fake, right?"
"It probably isn’t. The embroidery looks handmade, which is so exquisite that no one in the world besides Kelly could have done it."
"Could she really be the Shaw family’s heiress?"
"I noticed her when she walked in just now; her demeanor was distinctly unique. Goodness, we even threatened her to take off her coat..."
The murmurs of the crowd grew louder, and some even secretly slipped away. If Seraphina Redgrave truly is from the Shaw Family, they feared they would be in trouble, and their families might even get implicated.
These wealthy second-generation individuals, who usually bully others by flaunting their power, actually find it almost impossible to step into Kaelor, let alone offend the Shaw family, which owns it.
A group of people, through overthinking, had scared themselves into a cold sweat.
Mia Redgrave glanced at this group of useless people, so angry that she was almost steaming, yet she had to maintain her facade: "Is this young lady really the Shaw family’s heiress? What a coincidence, we’re right at the Shaw Hotel. Cindy, go fetch the manager and have him check if she truly belongs to the Shaw Family."
Seraphina Redgrave, learn to lie with some skill.
The Shaw Family’s heiress isn’t someone you can impersonate on a whim.
Do you really take us for fools?
"It’s just a manager. How could he have seen me? Go fetch Kaelor’s top management," Seraphina Redgrave said calmly, her expression showing not a hint of fear.
Upon finishing, Seraphina Redgrave turned and walked away from the center of the dance floor.
Nathan Ayers looked utterly confused: "Young Master Sterling, could she really be the Shaw family’s heiress?"
The information he had could only show that Seraphina Redgrave was adopted by the Redgrave Family, without knowing her true identity.
"The Shaw Family has no heiresses, only heirs," Ethan Sterling replied, his eyes gradually turning cold.
An old man in his family previously wanted the Shaw Family to marry into their family, yet found out upon investigation that there were no women of around the same age in the Shaw Family.
Nathan Ayers was dumbfounded: "Is she not afraid of being exposed?"
There’s no proof at all, and besides, there are no girls of that age in the Shaw Family.
Ethan Sterling sneered: "Let her mend the trouble she brought upon herself. I won’t care about her."
After speaking, he turned to leave, and from Ethan Sterling’s retreating figure, Nathan Ayers could tell that his mood was very unpleasant at the moment.
Nathan Ayers watched the departing figure, always feeling that his dissatisfaction stemmed from the little girl on the twenty-first floor not mentioning his name.
Nathan Ayers said nothing more and dutifully followed.
Ethan Sterling stopped, turned around, his face displeased: "Don’t you know where you’re supposed to be?"
"?"
Nathan Ayers truly didn’t understand.
As the special assistant to Young Master Sterling, where else should he be but beside Young Master Sterling?
"Stay here and watch. If anything happens to her, you can pack up and leave."
After Ethan Sterling finished speaking, he turned and left.
This time Nathan Ayers was truly dumbfounded.
Young Master Sterling’s expression was so ugly just now, yet he still wants him to observe secretly, ready to rush to help at any time?
He couldn’t understand.
No wonder Young Master Sterling is entirely incomprehensible to ordinary people.
The extravagant ballroom had long lost the joyful atmosphere of the party.
Everyone was whispering, wanting to know whether Seraphina Redgrave was truly the Shaw family’s heiress.
Seraphina Redgrave stood expressionlessly in place.
Mia Redgrave had a mocking smile hanging on the corner of her lips.
It wasn’t long before noises came from outside the ballroom, and someone brought a group of security guards inside.
A formally dressed man stepped forward, presumably the top manager of all of Kaelor.
"I heard someone falsely claimed to be the Shaw family’s heiress. Who is it?"
Mia Redgrave, lifting her evening gown, walked next to Seraphina, smiling triumphantly: "President Fuller, would you please verify if she is the Shaw family’s heiress?"
Upon hearing this, the man turned to look at Seraphina Redgrave, his face looking displeased: "Miss, lying has its limits. The Shaw family members are all native to the south. Why would they come to Sovereign? Moreover, I haven’t received any news. On what ground do you claim to be the Shaw family’s heiress?"
Seraphina Redgrave stood her ground, showing no fear, lightly brushing her skirt, her face cold: "I am indeed not the Shaw family’s heiress. I once saved Hector Shaw’s life."
Hector Shaw, the current ruler of the Shaw Family.
The manager named Fuller laughed out loud: "The more ridiculous the lie, the better. How dare an unknown wild girl claim such an absurd lie, unafraid it’ll injure her tongue. Security, drag her down!"
The security guards, who had been waiting at the side, rushed up together.
"If you want to live, don’t touch me," Seraphina Redgrave said coldly.
"Pretentious!"
President Fuller looked at her, coldly snorted, and rushed forward, wanting to grab her personally.
Nathan Ayers was still watching them from the top floor, about to voice his opposition when he saw Seraphina Redgrave smash a beautiful custom figurine from the birthday cake, as tall as her, in front of President Fuller.
"Thud!"
The figurine instantly shattered into pieces, leaving broken fragments on the floor.
"Are you crazy!" Mia Redgrave howled, no longer caring about pretense.
This was a figurine she had paid dearly for, scaled down to her own likeness. Mia could feel her scalp tingling as she looked at the dismembered bits all over the floor, as if seeing her own reflection.
Seraphina Redgrave was deliberately thwarting her!
President Fuller was humiliated on the spot by a young girl, so furious that his hair almost stood on end. Seraphina Redgrave, however, remained still: "President Fuller, I advise you to contact Hector Shaw. Otherwise, losing your job over some pride would be unwise."
"You think you can lecture me, you little brat..."
President Fuller was about to get angry but suddenly thought of something.
The Shaw Family is always hard to track down, and outsiders need countless contacts to even find out the number of Shaw family members. How did this young girl know the name of the Shaw Family’s ruler?
He hadn’t even realized it himself just now.
Could it be...
President Fuller looked at Seraphina Redgrave with some doubt, seeing her showing no fear, unsure of what to make of the situation.
After a brief standoff, President Fuller decided to contact the Shaw Family. With his level, he couldn’t directly reach the ruler, so he had to call the secretary of an internal manager of the Shaw Family.
"Tell Hector Shaw it’s time to repay this favor."
Seraphina Redgrave, eyes downcast, looked at the fragmented doll on the ground, a slight curl on her lips.
President Fuller, half-believing, half-doubting, hesitated but eventually passed on Seraphina Redgrave’s message. The voice from the other end instantly turned his face pale.
After a roundabout, Hector Shaw took the call himself.
President Fuller looked at Seraphina Redgrave, his pupils trembling, and shakily spoke: "Mr. Shaw invites you to have a video call with him."
The whole room gasped in shock.
Mia Redgrave was clueless yet equally astonished.
"Okay," agreed Seraphina Redgrave smoothly, then looked around. "President Fuller, I would appreciate it if you could keep all the young masters and misses present here."
The banquet had just begun.
