Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 136: It Is Common That a Man Acts Strangely
CHAPTER 136: IT IS COMMON THAT A MAN ACTS STRANGELY
Bruce held Hilla’s hand and tucked her in. He laughed and said, "I just got back from the bathroom. I don’t want to do anything. Do I appeal to you?"
Bruce gave a half smile. He realized what Hilla was thinking about. He lowered his head and whispered in a charming voice.
"What do you want?"
Hilla blinked her eyes and looked at the man shyly.
When Bruce approached, she covered her face again and say in a low voice, "Nothing."
"I have no idea what you meant."
Hilla looked shy as she said. Bruce chuckled and held her hands again. He leaned forward and tried to kiss her.
"Forget it. You can tell me what you want now. I’ll satisfy your need."
Hilla thought, "How can you say these words with a serious expression?"
She could feel the thud of her heartbeat.
She tried to stay calm.
Hilla pursed her lips, feeling nervous and hot.
She took a deep breath and pushed away Bruce. Then she jumped out of bed and rushed into the bathroom.
She needed to leave here right now.
Bruce was pushed onto the bed. He frowned slightly and stared at the bathroom thoughtfully.
He wondered why Hilla refuse him again. He thought, "Am I not attractive?"
Although it was in summer, it was a bit cold at night. He had a sense of loneliness as he had been abandoned.
Bruce doubted if Hilla loved him. He was afraid that she would divorce him and remarry another man.
This thought depressed Bruce. His face turned gloomy.
The room was dark and Bruce sat on the bed silently. A wry smirk lifted a corner of his lips.
As soon as Hilla came out of the bathroom, Bruce stared at her with a serious look.
His expression was so terrifying that she shivered and held the frame tightly.
For some reason, she did not dare to go to bed.
"Halle, last night Bruce suddenly gave a sly smile."
The next morning, Hilla made a video call with Halle and told her what had happened.
She wondered why Bruce had worn such a weird expression on his face.
Halle and Margaret were eating breakfast in the courtyard when Hilla called. Life in the countryside was undiversified. In the morning, villagers here often went to their farms.
Halle wanted to say something to comfort Hilla. Margaret grinned playfully as she put the sauce on the pancake.
Margaret looked evil, which reminded Hilla of Bruce’s expression last night.
"I know the reason."
Hilla thought Margaret’s smile was similar to Bruce’s.
"What’s it?"
Before Halle could react, Margaret raised her head and smiled evilly. "He has a desire for you."
Halle furrowed her eyebrows because she failed to stop Margaret from saying that.
She could only look at Hilla on the screen worriedly.
As expected, Hilla was stunned. She blushed and hung up the video.
Halle put down the phone and looked at Margaret. "I know my brother well!"
Margaret took a bite of the pancake. "I know Bruce well. He wants to marry me off and occupy my property. I’m going to River City tomorrow. I’ll get all his shares of the Anderson Group and leave him nothing."
Halle kept silent as Margaret said.
She didn’t think Margaret could rob Bruce of his property. Even Rudi couldn’t compete with him.
Margaret was no match for Bruce. She was just an innocent girl.
Halle didn’t want to meddle in their affairs. She was just worried that Hilla would get hurt.
In the private room of Night Club.
Bruce frowned the moment he entered the private room.
When he saw a woman sitting on the sofa, he wanted to turn around and leave.
"I heard that you haven’t consummated your marriage yet."
Riya shook her glass and tried not to let out a laugh.
Bruce glared at her. Riya couldn’t resist laughing.
Then she waved to Bruce with a smile. "Don’t be angry. Sit down and talk to us."
Horton straightened his glasses and secretly asked Riya to watch her language, but she ignored him.
Bruce turned to look at Horton. Horton whispered guiltily, "It’s none of my business. She peeked at your message on my phone."
Horton had thought that Riya was a righteous woman and he didn’t expect that she would do such things. As for him, he would never give the information of his friend away.
He wanted to let Bruce know the truth.
Bruce gazed at Riya coldly, and then turned to leave. At the same time, Riya said, "Stay here. I’m here to help you. I’m a woman and I should know your wife better."
Riya’s words made Bruce hesitate. He looked at Riya again and found that she stopped laughing.
Riya seemed to be in a good mood. She looked at him with a faint smile.
Bruce frowned and responded, "No, thank you. Hilla doesn’t like you."
Then, he went away.
"Bruce, why are you so annoying? Do you hate me? I don’t want to talk to you anymore."
Horton felt embarrassed. Riya touched her face and asked him innocently, "Why does Bruce behave like that? Hasn’t he forgotten me?"
Horton was amazed by Riya’s thought.
Riya rolled her eyes and said disdainfully, "Bruce is so narrow-minded. Even though I’m his ex-girlfriend, I can offer him help. He shouldn’t refuse me."
Horton sneered. "That’s between him and his wife and you’re his ex-girlfriend. It’s strange if he asks you for help."
Riya frowned and said, "But I’m a kind-hearted ex-girlfriend. I wanted to help him." Horton didn’t want to argue with a woman.
...
Riya poured herself a glass of red wine and shook it gently. She chuckled and said, "You men are fickle. How could you be ruthless to your ex-girlfriends? I’m so sad."
Horton silently drank the wine. This wine was expensive, so he didn’t want to waste it.
"Only a two-timer will keep in touch with his ex-girlfriend when he started a new relationship."
Riya raised her eyebrows and looked at Horton in disbelief. "I thought you were just a homebody. You know what a two-timer is. Are you in love now?"
Usually, women were more sensitive than men. They could notice something that men neglected.
Horton smiled bitterly. "She didn’t even give me the chance to confess to her." "I’m sorry to know that.
"Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I should help you rather than Bruce. Tell me what type of woman do you like?"
Riya thought the woman that Horton liked must be different from other women.
Riya was curious about the answer. She smiled mischievously at Horton.
Horton frowned. "It’s none of your business!"
He found that Riya really enjoyed causing trouble.
"Mind your own business. Do you have a boyfriend now?"
Horton’s words made Riya speechless. She didn’t know what to answer but frowned and stared at Horton.
She said fiercely, "It’s no wonder women dislike you. You have a low EQ."
After finishing, she put down the glass and stood up. Then she adjusted her hair and walked out of the private room.
Horton watched her leave the room. He wondered why she looked angry. He was just telling the truth.
Riya was not good at the relationship thing and she couldn’t be a reliable love mentor.
Lots of young men and women were drinking and dancing in the bar. The colorful lights were reflected on their faces.
In a corner of the bar, a thin woman rushed into a washroom.
After a while, Cercei went out of the washroom.
As soon as she went out, she met a middle-aged man who was the manager of the
bar. She felt nervous and straightened up, and greeted him.
"Cercei, what’s wrong with you? You should serve the guests and let them spend more. As you were a regular customer here, you’re allowed to work here."
"Sorry, I will do my best."
"Don’t forget, you’ve offended Bruce. This bar belonged to the Key family, so you’re allowed to stay in River City. You’re just a waitress now. Behave yourself, or I’ll fire you."
The manager looked at Cercei with discontent. "Those guests are so stingy. I’ve tried my best."
To get more money from those guests, Cercei had drunk half the amount of the wine in the booth. The guests were displeased about that.
"Guests are here for relaxation. You should give them the best service and make them comfortable. Don’t drink alone."
The manager said with a sullen look and glared at Cercei. Then, he left at a moderate pace.
Cercei gritted her teeth and thought, "How dare you criticize me! In the past, you were inferior to me."
Cercei took out her phone and saw the latest news about Bruce on Twitter.
"Rudi gets dismissed, while Bruce comes to power after marriage.
"Bruce’s wife seems to have a privileged background. Their marriage is based on interest or affection?
"The Cornel Group and the Palmore Group are taken over by the Anderson Group in a day."
Cercei felt furious as she read the news.
She hated Bruce and Hilla.
After the Palmore family and her family had fallen on hard times, Patrick blacklisted her.
They had been engaged before, but now they were just strangers.
Her relatives and friends became mean to her. She didn’t dare to go to school. She could only hide at this bar.
Cercei wanted to take revenge on Bruce and Hilla.
When reading the news, she thought of a dirty trick. She sneered and then dialed Rudi’s number.
Half a minute later, the phone was connected.
Cercei smiled and said softly, "Is it Mr. Anderson? Can meet you someday?"
Bruce was stunned. This was a strange number and he became alert. "Who are you?"
"I’m Cercei Cornel."
Bruce paused and sneered, "Hello, Ms. Cornel. How are you these days?"
Cercei knew Rudi was teasing her. She held her phone tightly and forced a smile. "Mr. Anderson, are you interested in a collaboration with me?"
"Isn’t your company bankrupt? I remember that your father is still in prison. I think you should earn your life first.
"Besides, what are the benefits of our cooperation?"
"Mr. Anderson, don’t you want to take revenge?"
"Are you kidding? I won’t ruin the Anderson Group. I’m also an Anderson. As long as the company exists, I can live a comfortable life. There’s no reason for me to make my life worse."
"Bruce chased you out of your family and the Anderson Group. Don’t you hate him?"
Cercei was clear that Rudi and Bruce didn’t get along. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so many ups and downs in the Anderson Group.
However, it was not a secret.
Bruce became serious and sneered. "Ms. Cornel, you’re just a waitress now! I don’t think you can be my partner."
Cercei stared at her phone in shock, her face turned pale with anger.
After hanging up the phone, Bruce picked up the wine glass and smiled at the man beside him. "I’m certain we can work well together!"
Rudi thought, "Bruce, you must die."
...
Hilla lost in the design competition, so she focused on her graduation work.
Lily leaned over and whispered, "Have you noticed that something is wrong recently?"
Hilla looked up at Lily and said, "You look a little chubby these days."
"No way. Do I? It must be the delicious food that Margaret sent me. I can’t control myself. Oh my god. I’m afraid I won’t be able to have a boyfriend before graduation."
Lily nervously ran to a mirror and carefully looked at herself. She looked at her round face and frowned. "You are right."
Lily was 5.2 feet tall. She was not tall, so she cared a lot about her weight. As long as she weighed more than 99 pounds, she would be angry. But in front of those delicious foods, she always could not control herself.
She hadn’t had a boyfriend for three years. Now, she had put on some pounds.
She decided to make a change.
"No! I need to hide all the food."
"You’re the only one in the dorm now. You can find anything you hide."
Hilla looked at the painting in her hands and tried to find its flaws. She didn’t forget to make fun with Lily.
Lily sat on a chair sadly. She hugged a big bag of snacks on the table and said, "Why? God! Why? Why are you doing this to me?
"I still don’t have a boyfriend and have not given my first kiss to anyone. You guys keep using these delicious foods to seduce me.
"The sugarcoated bullet is the most fatal."
As Lily spoke, she opened the bag of chips and ate it.
"You still want to eat?" Hilla looked up.
"What else can I do? They are right in front of me. If I want to resist the temptation of the enemy, the best way is to eliminate the enemy first."
Hilla thought that made sense.
When one wanted to lose weight, he or she still needed to eat. The two of them had the same effect.
After eating them all, Lily moved closer to Hilla. "Do you feel that Rigel seems to be avoiding us? No, he seems to be avoiding you."
Rigel?
Hilla stopped painting. She didn’t notice that. After all, she didn’t stay at school all the time. Every time she finished her classes, she would either be in the library or in the studio or her dormitory to think about her graduation work. She subconsciously ignored the people and things around her.
"Rigel seems to be getting colder. When you were here, he often came to the art studio. Now he leaves when he sees you, as if you will eat him."
Lily rubbed her chin like Sherlock Holmes. Suddenly, she smiled strangely. "I think he knows you are married. He is restraining his feelings for you and deliberately avoiding you."
He didn’t even have the opportunity to tell Hilla his feeling.
Hilla frowned and said, "What are you talking about? There is nothing between Rigel and me. I have a husband."
Speaking of Bruce, Hilla felt that he was strange recently. The way he looked at her made her nervous, and she felt that the way he looked at her was scary.
What was the matter with him? Why did Bruce stare at her every night when she went to bed? She got goosebumps every night.
"Hey, are you listening?"
Seeing Hilla was absent-minded, Lily was speechless.
Her married friend seemed to do not care about her at all.
When Hilla noticed, she said in embarrassment, "I was thinking that Bruce has been strange recently. Do you think that the men would act strangely for some days every month?"
Lily looked at her with disdain and said, "Cut it off.
"Rigel still can’t accept that you are married. How can Bruce be the same?"
"Why? They are both men."
"Stop. Don’t compare a twenty-year-old man to a thirty-year-old man. These two are obviously not at the same psychological level."
Lily said confidently. It seemed that she had forgotten her weight problem.
When it came to gossip and men, it was always the most energetic time for women.
"Why? Age doesn’t represent everything. Besides, age does not determine whether a man is mature or not."
Hilla thought that Lily was complaining that Bruce was old, but she believed that her husband was a good man and not old at all.
He was only ten years older than her. Although she had disliked it before, she felt uncomfortable when she heard others mention it.
In her mind, she did not accept others saying that she and Bruce were not matched.
Seeing how concerned Hilla was, Lily leaned forward and asked, "Did you quarrel?" Hilla shook her head.
It would have been fine if they had quarreled. She didn’t know what was wrong with him.
"You didn’t quarrel. Bruce has no woman outside. Why are you unhappy?"
"I’m not. I just feel that there’s something wrong with the way Bruce looks at me recently, and ... he’s not enthusiastic with me."
Hilla said in a low voice and lowered her head with a red face.
In the past, Bruce would hug her every night, and he would take advantage of her. Although his moves and words were a bit dirty, she understood that it was an intimate interaction between husband and wife.
"Not enthusiastic?" Lily carefully sized up Hilla. With such a young and beautiful body, how could he not be enthusiastic?
"Is he sick?"
"Sick?"
"Yes. It’s a psychological illness of a man, like a woman who is overly sensitive. In short, he has no interest and sexual desire in women at all."
Hilla said, "How is that possible? He has always asked for having sex. But I rejected him."
Lily coughed and patted Hilla’s hand to comfort her. "I understand now. He is unsatisfied!"
