Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 145: Time To Run Away
CHAPTER 145: TIME TO RUN AWAY
No longer a friend of her...
These words were etched in Horton’s mind, and a trace of weirdness showed in his eyes.
His eyes used to be bewitching, but they became cold and filled with anger because of the words flashed on the screen now. After a long time, he sneered and threw the phone on the bed.
No longer a friend of her!
Horton slammed himself onto the bed and stared at the ceiling, lost in thought.
If he wasn’t her friend, what was he to Halle?
A one-night stand?
How ridiculous! When did he become a man whore? Otherwise, why did she despise him?
He picked up his phone and dialed a number.
When the phone was answered and before he could speak, Bruce said impatiently, "Speak!"
He was a medical professor, and yet he was despised. Horton felt both angry and amused and then asked, "For a woman, what is a man who she has sex with once to her?"
Bruce was stunned for a few seconds, and then he calmly said, "You had sex with a woman."
Was this the main point?
"Does that woman avoid you?"
Bruce seemed to be a master at pissing him off.
Horton was very angry, but he could not relieve the depression. Therefore, he could only chat with someone.
"We are friends, but she unfriended me."
Horton did not know why Halle disliked him so much that she even avoided him. Did he do something wrong?
Whenever Horton looked at Halle, he could feel that she was deliberately alienated from him. Did he make her so unbearable that night?
Bruce wasn’t interested in Horton’s feelings, so he said indifferently, "Since she dislikes you, give up!"
"It’s easy for you to say that. Why didn’t you give up when Hilla avoided you?"
Horton said fiercely, while Bruce was still very calm, "I’m different from you. We get married, so it’s just a joy between the couple."
Horton was lost for word.
That was right. Hilla and Bruce got married. Although they didn’t love each other at first, their marriage could keep them in touch.
What was there between Halle and him? Nothing! Halle even disliked him.
Thinking of this, Horton was frustrated. Could it be that Halle got annoyed because of his hot pursuit? Should he give up?
Halle was pregnant by her ex-husband, so they might get remarried soon. Horton suddenly felt that he was a clown.
It was time to give up and move on.
Horton took a deep breath and calmed down, but he still felt a little depressed. Therefore, he said, "Come out and have a few drinks."
Bruce replied unequivocally, "I have no time." Bruce seemed to want to piss him off, so he added, "Hilla hasn’t had dinner yet. I’m cooking."
Horton thought, "Even Bruce can cook. What a decent family man!"
Bruce showed off at Horton by surprise, so Horton directly hung up the phone. Horton looked at the raindrop imprints outside the window for a while, and then he put the glasses on and changed his clothes.
Perhaps he had been attached to Halle for too long, or he had too much attention on her, so he was out of control and couldn’t give up for a while. But it might be much easier to give up if he came into increased contact with other young and beautiful women.
Hilla dawdled over the gruel as she seized Bruce up from time to time. "Hilla, do I look like a thief?"
Hilla shook her head. And then Bruce smiled with a little frustration, "Why are you so defensive? Are you afraid that I’ll do something to you after dinner?"
Bruce was not good at cooking, but he was a good cook compared with Hilla.
Although there were other dishes on the table, Hilla did not take a bite of them. Hearing Bruce’s words, she quickly picked up these dishes for Bruce and said, "Eat more."
Bruce laughed again, "If I eat more, won’t I have more energy to do something to you?"
Hilla covered her chest and broke into a paroxysm of coughing.
She almost choked to death on the oats.
She stared at Bruce in disbelief and asked, "What do you want to do to me?"
What else could he do to her? But when he noticed how defensive she was, what could he bear to do?
It wasn’t easy to take her home, so he couldn’t scare her off in just one night.
Bruce promised, "I won’t do anything to you. I will sleep in the guest room tonight. Rest easy."
They used to sleep on the same bed in the same room. However, after having sex with her, he needed to sleep in the guest room.
Hilla opened her mouth. Although she felt that this was unfair to Bruce, she didn’t say anything when she thought of how painful she was last night.
Although she was guilty, she could only pay him off in the future.
With his promise, Hilla felt much more at ease.
Bruce kept his promise and went to the guest room with his blanket. Because Hilla trusted him completely, she did not lock the door.
She was lying on the bed alone. When she touched the empty place and the cold sheet beside her, she felt a little uneasy and could not sleep.
She was used to being with Bruce. Therefore, when he was not around, she felt insecure and a bit more panicked.
She couldn’t ask Bruce to come back because they had just done it last night. What if Bruce wanted to do it tonight?
Hilla covered her head with the quilt and rolled on the bed.
It was annoying! It was so hard to be a woman.
Halle did not reply to her after comforting her.
Hilla spent the night in a nervous and conflicted state. Bruce did not come in, but Hilla stayed awake all night.
Only when it was almost dawn did she fall asleep. However, she had classes in the morning, so she made a strenuous effort to get up when the time was up.
Bruce had gone to work, and the maid had come early to prepare breakfast for her.
Hilla ate a little before she went to the River University listlessly. After a day, she slowly walked toward the gate with textbooks.
Before reaching the gate, she bumped into Rigel who had just come out of the library.
Both of them were stunned, but Rigel looked even more awkward. Before Hilla was about to leave, Rigel suddenly said, "Do...do you love him?"
Hilla had never sidestepped this problem, so she raised her head and smiled brightly, "Yes, I love him!"
Rigel felt miserable as if he had been kicked in the ass. Then he forced a smile with
frustration, "As long as you love him!"
...
As long as Hilla loved Bruce, Rigel wouldn’t have any fantasies.
Although he told himself that he had no regrets, he could not help but ask, "Why did you marry him?"
Hilla was so young that she could have many choices. Rigel thought Hilla’s marriage was crazy. Others even felt she was a pitiful victim.
They thought that Hilla, with ulterior motives, might be greedy for the property of the Anderson family.
For whatever reason, Rigel was unwilling to believe that Hilla married Bruce.
He knew Hilla was not such a girl, but he couldn’t convince himself.
It had been tormenting him. He had asked Hilla before, but he wanted a clearer answer.
Hilla thought for a moment and said, "At first, it was because of the Holt’s mansion. But after marrying him, I thought the marriage is not bad."
Hilla smiled, like a bright young girl. Rigel was shocked. Was the answer so simple?
Because she was married so she adapted to life?
Did she fall in love with Bruce or did she adapt to living in the Anderson family?
Rigel asked on impulse, "If I can give you the same life that the Anderson family gives you, can you..."
He bit his lips. In the end, he didn’t finish asking this question. He turned around and ran away.
Looking at Rigel’s figure, Hilla stood still in a daze. She was thinking about what Rigel said before. What did he want her to do?
She felt Rigel was strange recently. It seemed he became stranger now.
Didn’t she make herself clear? Or her married status was not obvious. She felt guilty about Rigel’s attitude.
Hilla rubbed her head. She didn’t sleep well. She walked weakly and uncomfortably to the parking space at the entrance of River University.
Sufficient sleep was important for people. She felt her body was as heavy as a boulder now.
Feeling uncomfortable, she wanted to go home to sleep.
Her red Maserati was conspicuous. The moment she drove it out of River University, the person in a black car not far away from the road said, "Young Master, there she is."
The man wore a black cap and hid in the car seat behind him. He looked horrible and
strange.
"Have you done what I asked you to?"
"Don’t worry, Young Master. She will die in secret."
The man snorted and said unhappily, "This time we have let her off lightly."
However, Rudi asked him to be efficient and didn’t allow him to cause any more trouble. Hilla was such a beautiful woman. How could he bear to do that? It made him uncomfortable.
When Hilla drove out of River University, she received a call from Orlenna, "I’ve bought some dietary supplements for you. Take them every day. They’re good for women’s health."
Only when Hilla was healthy can Orlenna have a grandson earlier.
Hilla answered. Then she hung up the phone and drove to Anderson’s mansion.
The Anderson’s mansion was surrounded by mountain roads. Few people lived on the mountainside, so there were few cars.
The black car behind Hilla chased after her. The person inside asked in confusion, "Young Master, Mrs. Anderson doesn’t go to the city."
According to their plan, there were many people and cars in the city. Thus it was normal for Hilla to get into a car accident. Now here, there were few people and cars.
"It doesn’t matter. In any case, the result won’t be changed."
The man responded indifferently. He grabbed his phone and he looked back and forth.
Hilla received Bruce’s call. She told him she was going back to the Anderson’s mansion. Bruce said, "I haven’t seen Mom for a few days. Wait for me. I will pick you up."
Bruce’s voice was husky and sexy, making Hilla blush.
She pursed her lips and agreed with a smile.
...
Lily had lunch in the canteen. As soon as she returned to the dormitory, she saw a figure busy packing. The luggage was stuffed into a mess by her. She was spoiled and didn’t know how to do housework.
"Margaret, are you moving?"
Margaret turned to see Lily and immediately beamed.
"It’s about time. I’m going to take an internship."
She had taken lots of money from Bruce and Orlenna. If she didn’t escape now, she would lose her pocket money when they came back to their senses.
During the two days she was in the hotel, she had thought deeply about her future.
Lily was surprised, "Internship? Do you need work experience? Are you going to work in the Anderson Group?"
She could do whatever she wanted if she worked in her family’s group. No one dared to stop her.
Margaret rolled her eyes, "The Anderson Group is boring. I plan to go to work in Far City."
"My God. River City is so big, can’t it hold you anymore?"
Lily shook her head. The rich people indeed could do whatever they wanted. When would she be able to live life as a rich and powerful family?
After Margaret stuffed her luggage, she found the luggage could not be buckled. Lily saw this and help her tidy up.
As a beloved girl, Margaret couldn’t even take care of her own life. Could she go to Far City alone for an internship? She might annoy the boss.
Margaret smiled in embarrassment and sat down to eat Lily’s snacks, "Don’t worry, I will come back every month. Far City is not far away from here."
"What is your family doing? Hilla moved away the day she came back. You will move away too. In the future, I will be the only one in the dormitory. Don’t you stay after graduation?"
Didn’t they say that after three years of examination, the most important thing was to graduate? Now they were about to graduate, but Margaret ran away first. Although it was normal for seniors to intern in the last year.
"When did Hilla come back?"
"Last night. She seemed to have quarreled with Mr. Anderson. But I heard that they were unhappy on their first night. Hilla was angry and then came back."
Mr. Anderson was indeed strong. Presidents in novels could conduct seven times in a night and made their wives unable to get up. It might be true.
Margaret was shocked. She felt something went wrong.
They felt unhappy on the first night and Hilla was so angry that she ran away from home. Wouldn’t Bruce vent his anger on Margaret? After all, gifts blinded eyes.
Think of this, Margaret quickly pulled up the luggage case. It was time to run away.
