CHAPTER 33: BETRAY ME BECAUSE THE ANDERSONS HAVE FED YOU FOR A FEW DAYS

"Who said no Andersons dare to bully me? Your mother did bully me!"

This should be an example of natural hostility between a woman and her daughter-in-law.

Hilla covered her lips and sobbed. She kept sobbing aggrievedly without looking at Bruce.

Bruce pursed his lips and comforted her in a low voice, "What do you want to do?"

He would never scold his mother for Hilla’s sake.

"She won’t let me go out now. What should I do now? It’s all your fault."

Orlenna did it because she had misunderstood Hilla.

Bruce let out a sigh. "She just said it out of anger. She won’t make things difficult for you in a couple of days."

He understood his mother well. Orlenna didn’t mean what she said when she was angry. After she figured it out, she would still be nice with Hilla.

Hilla bit her lip and looked at him, crying, "You are siding with your mother, not me!"

After she finished speaking, she lay on the bed and continued to cry. Her crying sounded so miserable that one couldn’t help feel pity for her.

Bruce really couldn’t stand her crying. This was his first time to face a woman who cried like this. He could only try to calm her down. "Alright, I am on your side of course. It’s just that I shouldn’t meddle in this matter now. You may stay at home for a few days."

He remembered that Hilla had once said that she had had a crush on a man. He couldn’t remember the man’s name. It seemed that this man had business with the Anderson family.

Was Orlenna putting the family at risk?

Hilla turned her head to the side and whispered, "Bruce, your mother wants to deduct my pocket money? What should I do?"

Well, so this was what Hilla was worried about.

Bruce frowned and said helplessly, "Then I will give you that."

"Your mother gave me 150 thousand a month. Can you do it?"

Hilla blinked her eyes. Her tears were still on her eyelashes although she had stopped crying. She appeared rather pitiful with that look.

Bruce sighed. "Horton will transfer the money to you tomorrow."

A woman could always be consoled with money. Bruce had a wrong understanding of Hilla.

But when she heard this, Hilla finally broke into a smile and stopped crying. She got up from the bed and wiped away her tears. "Alright, I forgive you."

Bruce was speechless. He thought, "I did nothing wrong!"

Since Hilla didn’t go to school, Lily sent her messages every day.

Lily: You didn’t come to school because you were sick? Is there any other reason?

Hilla: It’s true that I’m sick. Why else do you think?

Lily sent Hilla a wretched smile. Lily: For example, Bruce made you unable to get out of bed because you have sex seven times a night.

Hilla’s lips twitched. After sending ten hammer emojis in a row, she threw her phone aside and walked to the bathroom.

Seven times a night? She never had sex with Bruce at all!

She was still a virgin.

After Bruce was done with his work, he closed his laptop and picked up the phone that rang constantly on the bed.

Lily: You’re a beauty. How could Bruce stay indifferent to you when you’re lying by his side? He is not a eunuch, is he?

Bruce looked at the words on the screen and frowned. He wondered if young girls now all chatted like this.

Was he indifferent? Was he a eunuch?

When Hilla came out of the bathroom, she saw Bruce sitting on the bed with a gloomy face. He held Hilla’s phone and stared at Hilla.

Hilla quickly snatched the phone from his hand. Before she unlocked it, she heard Bruce’s cold voice and a shiver ran down her spine.

"Other than thinking about your pocket money every month, you should clear your mind."

He didn’t want her to think about sex at such a young age!

Hilla pursed her lips and secretly turned around with her phone in hand. Hilla: Bruce read your messages!

After more than ten seconds, Lily sent her a voice message.

Lily’s voice trembled with excitement, "He did? Then was he infuriated? Did he show you his charm and pressed against you on the bed like the domineering heroes in novels?"

Fortunately, Hilla was smart enough to listen to it with earphones. Otherwise, Bruce would laugh at her if he heard it.

She quickly texted back. Hilla: No, he wants you to clear your mind!

Lily was stunned at Hilla’s words.

Why did she have to do that? She was clear-minded!

After sending the message, Hilla lay back on the bed as if nothing had happened.

She took out the "President’s Wife" hidden under her pillow, ready to see its ending.

Bruce lowered his head and saw the name of the book. He immediately frowned and a trace of disdain flashed through his black eyes.

This was the melodramatic novel that had poisoned him for two months. She must have learned all her mentality from it! But it was strange that she hadn’t seen the ending of such a short novel with clearly only 200 or 300 thousand words as she had read it for so long.

Bruce gave a little cough.

But Hilla didn’t react and kept reading.

She was completely immersed in the book, so focused that she did not notice what was happening outside.

Seeing that she did not respond, Bruce coughed again and ordered, "Hilla, stop reading that book."

"Why? I am close to the ending. Don’t be noisy."

After saying that, she waved her hand in disgust as if the man sitting next to her was not her husband, but an annoying mosquito.

Bruce was speechless. He grabbed the book in her hand and threw it on the bed. Without waiting for Hilla to get angry, he said, "Help me to the bathroom."

"You want to take a bath?" She didn’t expect Bruce to be such a trouble-maker.

"No!"

"Then are you crazy?"

"I want to ... take a leak!"

"Well, you want to go to the toilet? Just tell me frankly. What are you embarrassed about?"

She had nursed him for so long. She had seen and touched every part of his body. It should not be his turn to be shy.

Bruce suddenly felt embarrassed that he, as a man in his thirties, was humiliated by a twenty-year-old girl.

Hilla didn’t seem to care about what she said, but when Bruce entered the bathroom, she immediately leaned against the wall with blush and let out a deep breath.

What should she do? She was flustered and could scarcely breathe. Did she really

have a heart attack?

There was even a burst of numbness in her waist that Bruce had touched just now. It tickled the nerves in her entire body, making her think of Bruce’s aura when she was leaning against his chest.

Hilla kept her ears open to what happened in the bathroom. Soon there was a loud sound, and Bruce seemed to have fallen!

...

"Bruce, are you ... alright?"

Hilla rushed into the bathroom and looked at Bruce whose clothes were in disarray. Seeing the charming man in an unholy mess, she immediately blushed and said in annoyance, "You ... are so awkward!"

Although Hilla looked disgusted, she stood at the door and didn’t leave. Instead, she moved over with small steps and picked up a towel to cover his waist.

Bruce was helpless with his hand on his forehead. He only wanted to take a bath, but he didn’t expect himself to slip and fall to the ground. This little girl even saw every part of his body. Even Bruce, as a mature man in his thirties, felt embarrassed while this young girl didn’t run away.

"Are you alright?" Did he suffer brain damage after the fall?

Seeing that Bruce didn’t respond to her, Hilla couldn’t help but look at him as if he was a fool, which made Bruce angry and annoyed.

"I am not alright! Help me up."

Fortunately, he was young. Otherwise, his leg would have broken.

Hilla then rushed over and pulled his arm with a blush.

There was hot water in the bathing pool with dense moisture steaming the entire bathroom and dyeing her face red. Taking a deep breath, she moved her gaze away from his body and stared at the wall of the bathroom.

Suddenly, Hilla couldn’t breathe again. She quickly closed her eyes and shouted, "I didn’t see anything. I couldn’t see anything."

Bruce was both angry and amused. He wrapped the bath towel around his body and said angrily, "Open your eyes!"

He was afraid that they both would fall if she didn’t keep her eyes on the road.

Bruce’s legs didn’t function well. Most of his weight seemed to settle down on Hilla.

Fortunately, she had been trained to be strong although she looked thin and weak.

She managed to help Bruce to the bathing pool although they moved slowly.

"What’s wrong?"

Seeing Bruce pursing his lips and looking uncomfortable, with his forehead covered in a fine film of sweat, Hilla realized that he had been lifting one of his arms. He must be injured.

"It’s fine. Call Horton over tomorrow."

It was too late to call someone over. Orlenna would know Bruce woke up from his coma if Horton came over now.

"Let me see."

Hilla quickly pulled his arm. Bruce snorted coldly. Realizing that she pulled too hard, she quickly loosened her hand and caressed his arm.

"It seems to have been dislocated!"

His elbow was dislocated. Hilla pursed her lips and said, "I’ll fix it for you, but it would be a little painful."

"No ... It hurts!"

Before Bruce refused her, Hilla had done the work in a flash.

Bruce broke out in a cold sweat, surprised at the muscular strength of her hand.

"Don’t worry. I used to dislocate my arms when I practiced martial arts. I can fix it. It doesn’t hurt!"

It wasn’t her who was in pain, right? Bruce didn’t even have the chance to refuse her help.

"Why don’t you move your arm and see how it is? Is it okay now? Shall I do it again?"

Bruce was shocked by her strength and quickly raised his arm, "It’s fine. You did a great job."

A gratified smile appeared on Hilla’s face when she was praised. She looked charming with a blushed face, surrounded by steam. She pursed her lips. "If you break an arm or leg in the future, just turn to me. I can break them as well as set them back."

Bruce thought, "Then I’ll thank you first!"

When Hilla came out of the bathroom, she didn’t forget to remind Bruce at the door, "Be careful when you walk. If you can’t stand up, just call me. I’ll be at the door. Don’t worry."

Was she planning to guard him?

Bruce helplessly replied, "Got it!"

"Don’t you think my life here is good? I ate and drank well here and Mother bought me a car that is worth 150 thousand, so I should take good care of Bruce, right?"

Hilla held up a furry little fellow and cutely pouted her lips.

She picked up two abandoned puppies on a rainy night. The two little ones seemed to have just been one month old. They were still shivering with cold on the first day they arrived. One of them was even sick.

Hilla named them Cookie and Candy respectively. Perhaps it was because of Bruce’s accident that Orlenna began to cherish life more than ever before. She was particularly fond of the two little creatures Hilla brought back home.

It was as if Orlenna treated them as her own children. She should take sick Candy to

her room to take care of it the night it got wet in the rain.

Hilla looked at the Cookie in his hand and made a kissing expression.

The next day, Orlenna took the poor little creatures to the pet hospital for parasite expelling and vaccination. After a complete check-up, she carried them back.

"I’m only repaying the Anderson family now. Besides, we had a deal before. The Anderson family will help me take back the Holt’s mansion, so I should be nice to Bruce and care about him, right?

"Which house do you think is prettier, the Holt’s villa or the Anderson’s mansion? The Anderson’s mansion is not ours although it is big enough. When I took the Holt’s villa back, I will take you home, okay?

"Don’t be ungrateful. I brought you back. I am your master. You can’t betray me just because the Andersons have fed you for a few days!

"What? You don’t want to leave here?

"Why? What’s keeping you here? You are bought over by Bruce with those small favors. You really are not qualified loyal dogs.

"You should know that I am the one who brought you back, so you are Holts. I am your family and you must come back with me to the Holt’s villa."

Hilla was warning a dog that was whining and kicking its calves with innocent round eyes.

The bathroom door was opened. Hilla quickly put down Cookie and stood up from the bed. She immediately blushed and whispered when she saw Bruce with only a towel wrapped around his waist at the door, "Anything you want me to do?"

Bruce leaned against the door frame, his hair dripping with water. Because he had spent too much energy bathing, he took a deep breath and waved at Hilla by the bed. "Come here."

If it was anyone else who dared to wave at her like this, she would definitely wring his hand off first.

However, Hilla didn’t dare to drag on as she ran over to Bruce who was the "weak" one. She stabilized his body and carefully brought him to the bedside.

"Be careful. Let’s be slow."

Hilla warned in a low voice. Fortunately, she was strong enough to bear the pressure from Bruce’s weight although she was thin.

Suddenly there was a light knock on the door, and then the door was opened. Hilla was startled by the sudden sound before she slipped over and hit the bed together with Bruce.

The two rolled on the bed together. Bruce instantly closed his eyes and played the role of a vegetable.

Hilla was stunned. He pretended to be unconscious now. How could she explain all

that had happened by herself?
