Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 54: Help Her Out
CHAPTER 54: HELP HER OUT
On the day of the fashion show, Hilla arrived at River University early. This time, she was the only student who designed two sets of clothes. The dean of the department talked to her in particular.
The order of the show was determined by drawing lots. Hilla was at No.3, which was either good or bad.
She put a lot of pressure on the people behind her, not to mention that her style was in harmony this time. Aiming to show the charm of the clothes, she designed some traditional dresses.
Men’s clothes were simple, different from cheongsam, but it was still high-demanding.
Hilla looked at Rigel, who just changed his clothes, and couldn’t help but be startled.
Rigel was eye-catching when he wore this design with a cold face.
"God! Rigel is so handsome."
Lily held Hilla’s arm, sweating!
She was going to faint away!
Hilla knew some traditional dress would be a perfect fit for Rigel. He was tall but cute at the same time. The more charming thing was he often wore a cold expression. Such a striking contrast attracted girls the most!
"It’s amazing." Hilla said with a smile, "I am a little regretful now. People would pay no attention to my clothes when they see you."
She worried girls might only look at Rigel, who was gentle and soft in her clothes, totally ignoring her design.
Rigel pursed his lips, "I will just walk one round!"
Seeing the rejection and embarrassment on his face, Hilla couldn’t help but laugh, "If I knew you would be in such a difficult situation, I would ask someone else for help."
Rigel fixed his eyes on her. After a long while, he finally said, "I owe you a favor." OK, fine.
Hilla smiled. In any case, she made up her mind to stay away from Rigel after this matter.
"Margaret is about to arrive. I will go pick her up. Don’t go anywhere!"
Margaret texted her an hour ago that she was about to arrive. She quickly ran to the school gate without looking back. Without her, she was afraid that Margaret wouldn’t get there.
Sure enough, she saw the car as soon as she arrived. In the car, Margaret, with plum blossom make-up on, was staring with her big eyes open, eagerly and curiously
looking over.
When she saw Hilla, Margaret’s eyes immediately lit up.
"Hilla, I’m here!"
Hilla ran to the car and quickly opened the door for her, "Sorry, it’s too busy inside. I forgot that you are not familiar with this place."
"It doesn’t matter. It would be better for you to pick me up."
Margaret grabbed Hilla’s arm. Her eyes, which put on makeup, were particularly bright. She looked at Hilla with a silly smile. It seemed that Hilla was not the woman she hated, but a hot and fragrant pancake.
"Since when did you guys have such a good relationship? If Bruce were to find out about this, he would be startled!"
Horton held back his laughter and walked out of the car elegantly. The glasses on his face made him more serious. He only looked gentle and elegant now. A 27-year-old gentleman successful in his career was the most attractive to girls, not to mention that this was at River University.
Girls in university were basically adults, and they preferred mature men.
Horton’s face was too eye-catching. In addition, his black Maybach also drew a lot of attention. As expected, they already attracted the attention of more than half of the people on this campus.
"Can you behave yourself? Don’t keep throwing flirtatious glances at other girls. You’re so old! Don’t be so shameless!"
Margaret’s plum blossom make- up was elegant and gorgeous, and even though she only wore the inner lining of the clothes, it could still tell she had a perfect bodyline.
Orlenna really knew how to cultivate her daughter. Although Margaret was spoiled, her elegance and gracefulness were hard to ignore.
Coupled with her special outfit today, it was hard to tell that she was older than Hilla. They were just like sisters. And they had Horton, a handsome man! No wonder that they were the focus.
Horton adjusted his casual clothes and said helplessly, "It’s just that I am too charming. Bruce is already thirty, but he can still marry a twenty-year-old girl. What’s wrong with me being only twenty-seven? Besides, my age is more attractive to these girls."
Horton pursed his lips, rolling his eyes. He looked at the familiar campus. It seemed to be the same as before.
"The older a man gets, the more shameless he becomes. You can’t compare to my brother at all. Only blind girls will like you."
Margaret just finished speaking when two young girls ran over. They looked at Horton in embarrassment, "Teacher, which faculty are you from?"
Horton was mature, so he could not be a student. The way these two little girls hit on boys was really smart.
Horton smiled elegantly, emitting his charm. His glasses covered the cunning in his eyes. He said gently, "I’m from your heart."
The two girls immediately blushed and looked at Horton with bright eyes. They almost stamped their feet in excitement.
Women like bad men. A charming mature man was simply more popular. Margaret couldn’t help but frown, muttering in a low voice, "Fuck it."
She had never seen Horton flirt with a little girl like this. She could not help but lean forward. Then she held his arms, acting like a spoiled child, "Darling, let’s go. Didn’t you say that you would only watch my performance today? It would be too late."
Hilla twitched her mouth. Were these two actors? Margaret’s little face was clearly full of schemes.
Horton nodded and pinched Margaret’s face. He said lovingly, "I like looking at you."
Hilla looked up at the sky and rolled her eyes. They were really in a love-hate relationship.
When the three entered, the fashion show had already begun. Hilla pulled Margaret backstage, tidied up her clothes, and added some makeup to her.
Margaret was very smart. Hilla only briefly told her about it, but she grasped the point immediately.
When Rigel and Margaret slowly walked out from backstage, there was a sound of gasping under the stage. Hilla’s design mainly used white and blue, and the jade ornament was made by herself. Both the flower and the embroidery were unique.
Although her design was not mature enough, it was beautiful and elegant for young people.
And the models were especially good-looking. Even if it wasn’t a competition, just walking around like this already attracted the attention of everyone.
Just as the people on the stage were paying attention to the two on the stage, Horton moved close to Hilla and whispered, "Does that man like you?"
...
Hilla failed to maintain her calm as she saw Horton’s half-smile.
She felt that she had been seen through by him and somewhat guilty.
"What are you talking about? I don’t understand."
Hilla frowned and turned to look at the runway. She happened to see Rigel’s eyes settle on her.
She felt nervous and quickly shifted her gaze to the side.
But it only made her look guilty. The smile on Horton’s face spread. He was in a good mood.
"Don’t you understand? Should I talk to Bruce about it? Maybe he can understand what I mean."
Damn it!
Hilla bit her bottom lip and looked at him. She suspected that Horton came here not for Margaret, but for monitoring her.
"If you want to tell him, then do it. I haven’t done anything wrong and I’m not afraid."
Hilla raised her eyebrows triumphantly. A clean hand wanted no washing.
It surprised Horton. He gave her a thumb up and said, smiling, "You’re so brave!"
She knew it was sarcasm.
Soon after the show, judges were scoring the designs. When Hilla stood on the stage and saw Julian in the judges’ area, she was upset. Julian was the last person she wanted to see here.
No wonder Bruce and Julian would meet tonight, Julian would be a judge here during the day.
Bruce had overreacted. He must have known that she and Julian would meet today and let Horton come to keep an eye on her.
Looking up at the sky, Hilla was speechless.
Lily nudged Hilla and whispered, "You’re so popular recently!"
Hilla smiled stiffly. "No, I’m in bad luck this year!"
"There are a handsome senior on stage and a rich one below the stage chasing after you. And you have a mysterious husband. Besides, you will surely win the first prize. Such a colorful life! I am a little jealous of you."
Lily looked at Rigel and Julian, totally fascinated.
Perhaps it was because Julian had practiced martial arts regularly, he had a tough
guy temperament, which was attractive to girls.
Hilla put her hands over her face and mumbled, "I don’t want this at all, okay?"
She felt so awkward that she wanted to escape from here. Thinking of Horton, who was watching her, Hilla wanted to hide from Julian’s sight.
When people were unlucky, bad things happened one after another.
The host began to announce the awards. When the scores were revealed one by one, someone suddenly shouted,
"Hilla’s score can’t be counted, because she plagiarized."
The most severe crime in the industry was plagiarism. If a designer was connected with plagiarism, she would lose her career.
No one would hire a designer who plagiarized. Once it was proved, Hilla could never recover her position in the industry.
Hilla looked for the source of the voice and saw Felicia with delicate makeup walking out from the crowd of designers.
Then, Felicia walked to the host’s side without hesitation. When she glanced at Julian below the stage, her eyes twinkled with surprise.
She didn’t expect that Julian would come. She was attracted to him the moment she saw him.
Although she wanted to talk to him, she had something more important to do today.
Exposing Hilla as a plagiarist, she could attract Julian with her "sense of justice".
When Julian looked at her, Felicia’s hand could not help but tremble with excitement.
Fortunately, she knew what she was doing.
Smiling sweetly at the judges, she calmly took out a draft.
"I’ve drawn it two months ago. It was the first sketch I prepared for this competition. It was a bit rough, but it was roughly the same as Hilla’s design. Even if I didn’t use this design, Hilla should not plagiarize it!"
Felicia stood on the stage and people in the venue all heard what she had said with the microphone.
Immediately, there was a burst of whispers, and most of the gazes fell on Hilla.
Hilla stood still with cold eyes. She curled her lips and replied, "How can you prove that?"
"This draft is the evidence. As far as I know, your original work is just a man’s clothing that Rigel’s wearing now. However, you’ve added women’s clothing three days ago, but I’ve drawn it two months ago. If this is your design, how could it be so similar to mine?"
"Nonsense!"
Margaret was so angry that she wanted to rush out, but Hilla stopped her.
Knowing Hilla well, Margaret was sure that Hilla could handle it herself. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have endured it.
It would be excellent if Hilla could kick Felicia off the stage later.
Hilla took a step forward and approached Felicia. Looking at the draft, Hilla said with a smile, "You said it was drawn by you. How can you prove that? And you said it was drawn two months ago. I can also say that it was drawn two hours ago to frame me."
"You’re talking nonsense. I’m not that bored."
Felicia replied with a pale face. Looking at her guilty face, Hilla couldn’t help but smile.
She looked even more charming with her beautiful eyes and the cute mole.
She clenched her fists. Such a scheme! She must beat Felicia up to vent the anger.
"You know very well what you’ve done. You take a draft to scheme me."
"I didn’t! You were quibbling. How can you deny it in the face of the evidence? The judges will not be deceived by you."
"She didn’t plagiarize. This is indeed Hilla’s design!" said a man in the crowd. Hilla looked at the man under the stage who helped her out and frowned. Damn it! It was him!
