Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 61: She Is Not Easy to Have
CHAPTER 61: SHE IS NOT EASY TO HAVE
"Here? Now? No, you can’t do that!"
Hilla moved her body uneasily with an unnatural smile. She was afraid lest that he would do something to her.
Watching her awkward look, Bruce grinned and touched her lips with his index finger. "Are you expecting something?"
"No, no, no, I am not. You’d better finish your meal first."
Hilla pushed the lunch box a little forward and managed a smile.
She thought, "It has only been half a day since we went to work. Why did he become even more attractive? He must have been seducing her by coming so close just now.
"I will keep my distance from him no matter how he seduces me. I must stay calm."
But after his flirtation, her heart was beating so fast.
"Okay, let’s eat!"
Bruce moved his body away, and couldn’t help smiling.
Hilla patted herself on the chest and then sat on the sofa, beginning to eat her lunch, too.
Eating this meal had become torture for her. Once Bruce finished his meal, she followed him and stood up, saying, "I am done, and I have some jobs to do, so..."
"Take your time. It’s your first day here. Tell me about your work."
"But it’s almost the working time. I don’t think it’s appropriate to talk about it now!"
Hilla twisted the corner of her clothes, fixing her gaze on her feet. Her face flushed, as she was thinking of the expression on his face and how close they were just now.
She used to be fearless, but when she faced Bruce, she always didn’t know what to do. And she felt so small in front of him.
Although she didn’t like this, she couldn’t help feeling shy in front of him.
She thought, "I couldn’t resist the handsome guys."
"No, I think it’s just the right time."
Bruce knocked on the marble desk and waved at her. "Now you can help me up."
The sofa was only two steps away from the desk. But Hilla remembered his weight and couldn’t help imagining the scene that he pushed her onto the table.
They were in the office! Hilla waved her hand and smiled awkwardly, "You are so tall and how can I support your weight? Give me five seconds, no, three seconds, and I will call James over. He looks really strong. It won’t be long!"
She was running out of the office as she spoke, not giving Bruce time to refuse. What she wanted at that moment was to get away from the office as soon as possible.
If she stayed longer, what if they made out there?
On the first day at work? Wasn’t it too much for her?
Hilla ran back to the design department in a hurry. Just sitting down, she saw Rudi stepping out of Julie’s office.
He must have done it with Julie. He looked so obscene.
Hilla didn’t understand why a person like Rudi was Bruce’s brother. They had nothing in common!
And Julie was so competent that she had been the head of the design department at such a young age. She couldn’t have achieved it merely by sleeping with Rudi.
She shouldn’t have dated Rudi who didn’t deserve her!
Hilla was lost in thoughts and didn’t notice that Rudi had seen her and was running towards her excitedly.
He had a quick searching look on Hilla, his eyes blazing with joy.
"You are here."
Rudi said, smiling. He couldn’t take his eyes off her face.
She was so beautiful and charming that he couldn’t see any imperfection on her face. He was lost for her, thinking what if she wasn’t Bruce’s wife.
Thinking of that, the joy in his heart turned into gloom and his hatred towards Bruce grew even stronger.
His staring sent a chill down Hilla’s spine. She forced a smile and said, "What can I do for you?"
Hearing that, Rudi’s face lit up. He smiled and said, "Would you do whatever I want?"
Hilla rolled her eyes at him in her heart, while faking a big smile at him. The mole under her eye was charming. She said, "Nope!"
He was captivated by her smile and then received her rejection. He felt disappointed but wanted her even more.
He looked at Hilla more intently and said, "I saw Bruce drop you on the road this morning. Bruce is dull and has no interest in women. He has only dated one girl in thirty years. You won’t be happy with him and why are you forcing yourself? I am different. My feelings for you..."
"Julie, there you are!"
Hilla looked behind him with a respectful smile.
Rudi got nervous and immediately shifted his gaze away. He fixed the expensive suit he was wearing and said in a deep voice, "You should work hard and don’t make any
trouble for Julie. The company needs young and energetic employees like Julie. She’s very competent. You have a lot to learn from her!"
Then he made a cheering gesture and then turned around with a bright smile. But there was no one behind him. Julie was still in the office tidying up her clothes.
Only then did he realize that he was fooled. He turned around staring at her angrily. When he was about to speak, Hilla said, "Julie."
"Same trick again? You think you are smart, right? Do you think I’m afraid of Julie? No, even Bruce is nothing for me. The Anderson Group will be mine sooner or later. You know what the best is for you," he said.
Looking at Rudi’s mean and gloomy face, Hilla wanted to blow his head off. But she blinked and put on a frightened face. She sounded as if she was about to cry.
"I’m just an assistant. I don’t have any improper thoughts about you. Please just let me go. Julie loves you and can help you at work. Why would you do this to hurt her?
"Although I was new here, I know how much she loves you. She even risked her career just for you. You shouldn’t flirt with others. It would hurt her feelings."
Rudi looked at her sobbing and frowned, thinking, "What is this about? Why does she suddenly behave like this?"
...
In the past, Hilla was like a red rose with thorns.
She was charming and fascinating, always catching people’s eyes. However, she never allowed anyone to come close to her.
But now, she was more like a delicate white lotus without thorns, helpless, womanly, and lovable.
Especially after coveting her for so long, Rudi wanted her now more than anytime he did.
He was encouraged by his mind and reached out a hand on a whim.
He really wanted to touch her face. The woman he had craved for so long was standing in front of him.
Hilla looked at the hand reaching out to her, with a gloomy light flashing in her eyes the second before his fingertips touched her cheek.
"Rudi! What are you doing here?"
Julie rushed over, making creaking sounds with her high heels. Her tight dress outlined her well-proportioned figure.
Her slender hand with red nails grabbed Rudi’s wrist and flung him away.
Hilla pretended to be frightened and ran backward to Julie’s back, saying with a grievance, "Julie, I really didn’t speak with Mr. Anderson. I dare not cross the line."
There were glistening tears hanging on her long eyelashes, making her look so vulnerable and trustworthy.
Julie glanced at her without saying anything. She turned to Rudi, her eyes blazing with fire, "Not just me. Do you want to date all of the girls in this design department?"
"I’ll make it clear today that even though I chose you, I will not compromise and beg you back like a dog. If you dare hit on my girls, we are done!" she said.
Julie was so brave, and after staying in this company for years as a manager, she had turned out tougher.
It had been seconds before Rudi realized that something was wrong. And then he hugged Julie and comforted her mildly.
"Nonsense. I don’t really mean what I said. How dare I upset you and your design department? Forgive me, please. People are watching," he comforted.
When he was comforting Julie, he was actually looking at Hilla over her.
He didn’t expect that she was really great. She bluffed at first, and when he let his guard down, he had already been fooled by her tricks.
Bruce had just come back. And it cost him a lot to have Julie. At this critical moment,
he couldn’t let the design department ruin his plan.
He would let Hilla go this time. He thought she would be his sooner or later.
Julie was no pushover. So it took Rudi quite a while to coax her, and she didn’t forgive him until the people from the design department were coming back.
Hilla felt relieved after she made sure that Rudi had left. Her forehead was sweaty.
"Since he liked women so much, I would like to know if he could pass my test," she thought.
She sneered, thinking of the face on Rudi just now. The game was just getting started.
"Hilla, didn’t you have your lunch?"
During work time, a handsome male colleague came over. He was a little shy as he asked. In his hand was an exquisite lunchbox.
Watching her confused face, the man flushed and explained, "I didn’t see you in the cafeteria at noon, so I thought that maybe you are not familiar with this place, so..."
Hilla blinked and smiled, "Thank you, but I have already had lunch!"
"Oh, someone has invited you!" he said.
The man looked disappointed and hesitated. Hilla explained, "No, no. I brought food myself and I ate it in the break room."
If people knew that she had lunch in the president’s office, how would she survive in this company?
Hearing that, the man heaved a sigh of relief and then smiled brightly, placing the box on her table, saying, "I brought some pastries. Have a taste!"
He finished his words and ran away, without leaving Hilla a chance to refuse.
Looking at the exquisite box on the table, Hilla fell into a dilemma, having no idea what to do with it.
Julie came and knocked on the table in front of her, smiling at her benignly, "Come in with me!"
Hilla stood up and immediately followed behind Julie into the office. As for the things on the table, she wouldn’t mind if someone liked them and took them away. Anyway, she would not eat it.
In the office, Julie was sitting in front of her desk, being less hostile but more amiable.
"Sorry for this morning. I was being too petty and misunderstood you and Rudi," she said.
"No, no, no. There is absolutely nothing between me and Mr. Anderson. So it’s good that we can make it clear. And you two are the perfect match."
Hilla was buttering up. While Julie sneered as if mocking herself, "A perfect match? No. We just get what we want.
"Whatever, sorry for you. Don’t worry, he won’t bother you anymore. If he dares ...
just come to me." Julie apologized.
"She sounded so cool. That was to say, Rudi was totally under her control. Poor Rudi," Hilla thought.
She nodded and said, "Thank you, Julie." But in her heart, she couldn’t help doubting Julie’s real intentions.
"This color is not suitable for me, so I want to give it to you. It might look better on you and you have to take it as my apology for what happened this morning," Julie said.
Julie took out a limited edition lipstick and put it on the table. Hilla stayed still with a glance at the lipstick.
She had this one, the same brand’s limited edition, which she bought when Orlenna gave her 150,000 dollars!
She still remembered the half one that she brought out from the Holt family and she had used it to draw a turtle on Bruce.
Now it was like a nightmare thinking of the way Bruce lying obediently on the bed.
"I can’t accept this. It’s too much," Hilla refused.
She was not a fool. And a lipstick was not enough to buy her off.
Julie smiled and said confidently, "I give you this because I also want to ask you a favor. I hope you can keep what happened this morning between just you and me. Gossips are forbidden in offices. You are new, so there is no need to trouble yourself."
"That was her real purpose!" Hilla thought.
She smiled and pushed the lipstick back to Julie, saying, "Don’t worry, Julie. I will keep it to myself. But the lipstick is too expensive. My mother taught me not to take things from others for nothing."
"Not enough? Tell me, what do you want? Promotion or a raise?" Julie asked.
Hilla rolled her eyes secretly, thinking, "What the hell? You didn’t trust me but still wanted to buy me gifts. And I couldn’t even refuse!"
