CHAPTER 191: THE HUNTING PHASE

Lucas started telling the rules.

"You will be there for 24 hours. The area is already marked, it has a 50 km radius. The beasts inside this area are cleared by us. Only apprentice, adept, and true tier beasts are present there.

You will have to kill beasts to get points. Apprentice tier: 1 point, adept tier: 10 points, true beast tier: 100 points.

You can’t kill each other.

Lucas nodded, "Okay then. Be prepared. We will leave in 30 minutes."

Sunny said, "Ethan, let’s stick to each other. I heard the monsters are very dangerous. Besides, there are true tier beasts. We barely broke through to adept tier.

Even if we were true magus, we couldn’t beat a true beast.

So we should form a team I think."

Ethan had already slayed a grand beast, so those true beasts were nothing.

He shook his head, "No, two would be enough. More people will be more of a burden."

Sunny thought for a moment and said, "Okay."

Soon 30 minutes passed and a huge flying boat arrived from the sky and landed in front of them.

Ethan’s eyes were wide open. He had never seen a flying vessel.

He heard only 2 star or above empires had this thing. They were top level magic artifacts.

Lucas said, "Okay, everyone get in."

Sunny said, "This boat is not beautiful at all. The one in my house is way better."

Ethan and Lucas’s mouths started twitching at the same time.

Ethan was now feeling how a poor friend felt in front of his rich friend.

20 minutes later, Ethan saw a vast forest in front of him.

Lucas said, "Everyone enter the forest. Your time starts now."

All of the 5000 candidates started running toward the forest. They wanted to find the weak beasts first. So whoever could get into the forest first would have the chance to find the weaker ones faster than others.

Sunny looked at Ethan lazily.

"Bro, shouldn’t we also run?"

Ethan said, "Okay, we don’t need to run. The weaker beasts don’t bring many points to the table. We should hunt the higher level ones. Let’s go. And don’t eat so much."

Soon Ethan and Sunny also entered the forest.

Lucas saw them going,

"Let’s see your performance, boy."

The forest was so dense that after walking for 500 meters, it became dark inside. The trees were so thick that sunlight couldn’t pass through them.

Ethan activated his detection spell. He immediately found many apprentice tier beasts, but he was not interested in them.

Soon his detection spell caught 2 adept ranked beasts.

Ethan looked at Sunny and said, "Okay, we found our target. Let’s go."

Sunny started following him.

After walking 6 km to the north, they saw a pair of bear monsters. Both of them were adept level beasts.

As soon as they saw Ethan and Sunny, they roared and charged toward them.

Sunny said, "Let me handle them."

Then his lazy face turned serious and 10 swords appeared behind him, created by light element.

Sunny cast this spell without incantation.

Ethan’s eyes were sparkling. This spell was a versatile one. Any elemental magus could conjure a sword with their own elements.

Ethan instantly learned the diagram of the spell. He couldn’t wait to use it.

Sunny moved his hand and instantly the swords seemed to receive their orders and lunged toward the two bears.

Those adept ranked beasts didn’t stand a chance against Sunny. The light elemental swords penetrated one and killed it. The other one did not die, only immobilized as its legs were pierced.

Sunny looked at Ethan and said, "Go bro, kill that bear. We will both have 10 points each."

Because the points went to the one who delivered the final blow.

Ethan did not stand on ceremony and took out his crimson sword, beheading the bear.

Sunny was astonished.

"Bro, you can use a sword even as a magus?"

Ethan said, "Using a sword doesn’t take much. I love swords, so I learned from the general of our royal army. He is a top master swordsman."

Sunny said, "Bro, you are so cool."

Even Ethan felt a little embarrassed, so he coughed. "Okay, let’s go to our next target."

Soon the two of them started massacring the adept rank monsters. Ethan didn’t use any spells, only his sword.

They both now had 100 points each.

Lucas was watching both of them.

It was almost afternoon. Ethan said, "Let’s eat and rest first. We have enough points. I don’t think someone will be able to topple us soon."

They both sat under a large tree and Ethan took out his food.

He was about to take a bite when he saw Sunny looking at his food, drool coming out of his mouth.
