My College Teacher is My Children's Mom
Chapter 310 310 Preparing for the Wedding!
Lin Feng hadn't expected Zhang Yuxi to show up. He took his sunglasses off and put them on her.
"Go sit under the parasol. We'll be done in a little while."
Without needing a hair tie, Zhang Yuxi effortlessly gathered her long, beautiful hair into a ponytail.
"No, it's fine. I'll just stand here and watch the little ones."
The first to spot Zhang Yuxi was San Bao.
"Mommy, Mommy! Come down and play with us!"
Zhang Yuxi shook her head. "No, sweetie. Mommy will watch you play!"
Lin Feng took her hand. "There are drinks here, and salad and steak. Do you want some?"
She hadn't been hungry, but now that he mentioned it, she felt a little peckish. She went and ordered two glasses of freshly squeezed fruit juice.
The gym had a rule against eating by the pool, so the couple stood on the steps, sipping their juice while watching their children. The instructor had told them that parents didn't need to stay, as there were roving instructors on duty. But Lin Feng still felt uneasy, and whenever they came, he watched them without moving an inch.
After the lesson, Zhang Yuxi took Er Bao and San Bao to get a nice bath.
It had only been a few days, and the little ones had already gotten a tan. My heart aches for them.
In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.
Apart from Da Bao, the children had all learned the breaststroke. Once they could swim a full lap back and forth without resting, they could 'graduate' from the class. As for how well Da Bao learned, Lin Feng wasn't pushy. Getting Da Bao to overcome his fear of water was already the greatest achievement.
But even after learning, they still needed to consolidate what they'd learned and build muscle memory. So, Lin Feng bought a monthly pass for all the children.
Jiang Chenchen transferred the money to Lin Feng. "Director Lin, I can't let you pay for this!"
The kids were good friends, and the two families visited each other often. A few hundred yuan was nothing to Lin Feng, so he had just paid for it out of convenience. He hadn't wanted to accept the money, but a comment from Jiang Chenchen's father changed his mind.
"My son is old enough to understand things now, and he's about to start first grade. I don't want him to think his dad is someone who takes advantage of others. I don't want him to develop that kind of mindset, either."
No wonder their kid is so well-behaved, Lin Feng thought. It's not for nothing.
Lin Feng accepted the money. He continued to take the children swimming in the mornings and to their early education classes in the afternoons.
Before long, July arrived.
Lin Feng finally decided to hold the wedding in the Maldives. Next, he had to contact the hotel, confirm the number of guests attending, handle their visas, and so on. He handled many of these things while Zhang Yuxi was away. This time, Teacher Han Wen and Tang Xiufen were also on the invitation list.
It was a surprise, so the secrecy had to be perfect, otherwise, all his efforts would be for naught. The wedding preparations were proceeding in a flurry of activity, right under Zhang Yuxi's nose.
「That day.」
"Honey, your phone is ringing."
Lin Feng hurried over, grabbed his phone, and walked away to take the call. This wasn't the first time, and while Zhang Yuxi was slightly surprised, she still trusted him.
But one night, very late, Zhang Yuxi discovered Lin Feng wasn't in bed. He was in the study, on the phone.
"Okay, I'll prepare the roses. She'll like them."
"Goodbye!"
Zhang Yuxi shuddered in fear. She scrambled back to the bedroom and pretended to be asleep. A short while later, Lin Feng came in.
Pretending to wake up, Zhang Yuxi asked, "Honey? Where did you go?"
Lin Feng smiled faintly. "I just went downstairs for a glass of water."
"Oh."
That night, Zhang Yuxi dreamed that Lin Feng had abandoned her. The feeling was terrifyingly real. When she woke up, she found that she had been crying.
"Sweetheart? What did you dream about?" Lin Feng asked in surprise.
Zhang Yuxi stared blankly at him. Remembering the dream, she felt an overwhelming sadness well up inside her. With a choked sob, she burst into tears.
This startled Lin Feng. "What is it? What's wrong? Why are you crying all of a sudden?"
She threw her arms around him. "I dreamed… I dreamed that you didn't love me anymore!"
Lin Feng didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "That will never happen. I'll love you for a lifetime. I will always love you!"
Zhang Yuxi lifted her tear-stained face. "Really?"
Lin Feng gently wiped her tears away. "Silly, of course it's true!"
Her voice trembled. "Honey, I love you so, so much. If you stopped loving me, my world would collapse."
Lin Feng held her tightly in his arms, comforting her in a low voice.
"That won't happen. Look, we have our babies. I love them, but I love you even more!"
Zhang Yuxi continued to sob softly, and Lin Feng had to coax her for a long time before she drifted into a fitful sleep.
Lin Feng sighed, a mix of distress and helplessness washing over him.
...
The next day, Zhang Yuxi had completely forgotten what had happened in the middle of the night. She was startled when she woke up and saw her swollen eyes.
"Honey, what happened to me?"
Lin Feng quickly boiled an egg for her. "Roll this over it," he said. "Probably a mosquito bite."
Zhang Yuxi was taken aback. "A mosquito bite?"
Seeing that she actually believed him, Lin Feng asked, "You don't remember?"
Zhang Yuxi shook her head, looking completely lost. "Remember what? Getting bitten by a mosquito?"
Lin Feng didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Don't talk. Close your eyes and roll it a little more."
After rolling the warm egg over her eye, the swelling did go down quite a bit, but it was still noticeable. Zhang Yuxi rummaged through a drawer and pulled out her black-framed glasses.
"Honey, it's not so obvious now, right?" she asked, putting them on.
Lin Feng gave her a meaningful look. "I think you should wait until the swelling is completely gone before you go to class."
Zhang Yuxi was stunned. "Why?" She ran to the mirror to look again, thinking she looked perfectly fine.
When she came back out, Lin Feng was already on the phone, calling in to cancel her class for the day, which left her utterly bewildered.
Lin Feng glanced at the children who were still playing, then beckoned her over. Zhang Yuxi approached, her curiosity piqued.
Lin Feng whispered a few words in her ear, and her face instantly flushed crimson.
"Really?" she stammered. "Is it… really?"
Lin Feng nodded. "I'm a man. What do you think?"
With that outfit, she really looked the part.
Zhang Yuxi stammered, "Then… I'll go change…"
Lin Feng gave a subtle look to their little helper, Da Bai. As she went upstairs, he followed. "I'll go get the comfrey ointment for the babies while I'm up there."
Comfrey was very effective for rashes. Da Bao, being a bit chubby, would sweat easily when he played, sometimes causing redness under his arms. The ointment worked wonders.
Once inside the room, Zhang Yuxi saw that Lin Feng was also there and waited expectantly.
"Honey, aren't you leaving?"
"Leaving for what?"
"..."
She might be scatterbrained about some things, but she was sharp when it came to this.
"Honey, get out!"
"..."
Sigh, my wife is getting smarter. What am I going to do? he thought. Oh well, it's not like it'll change the outcome.
After Lin Feng went back downstairs, Er Bao asked, "Daddy, where's Mommy?"
A look of deep satisfaction on his face, Lin Feng said, "Mommy's taking a nap! Er Bao, let's not disturb Mommy's rest, okay?"
Er Bao replied obediently, "Okay! Then Daddy can play with Er Bao!"
"No problem!"
In the afternoon, the swelling around Zhang Yuxi's eyes had subsided. She tidied herself up and left for her class, shooting a glare at Lin Feng on her way out.
"Here, honey," he said, handing her a drink. "This is pear juice. Have some."
Zhang Yuxi's expression softened slightly.
The next second, she heard Lin Feng add, "To soothe your throat!"
She was so angry she didn't want to drink it anymore.
