The flickering sound of the torch, the instinctive gulps of the people standing before a colossal gate, the uncertainty of their future, made all of the Numbers fear what existed behind the gate.

Number Five and Number Six, with their new equipment and shields, slowly pushed the gate.

Black miasma oozed out from the small opening, making the other Numbers instinctively step back.

"Cleanse..." Kur whispered, producing golden lights around the Numbers.

Nodding, Number Five and Six went in, followed by the others, while Kur stayed at the back.

Kur looked behind, only to see nothing... Their Master, Dexter, and his Mistress, were nowhere to be found.

"Shai... Silf... Please lead all of us..." Kur said, holding a sword and a holy staff.

Number One, Shai, looked at Number Two, Silf, with a determined look.

"Silf, go with Kur at the back, I'll be in the frontline with Mac and Ena... Please protect Rin and Fio, they don't know how to fight, but at least they could give us supportive spells..."

Shai stood with Mac and Ena, and looked at the five sword users beside them.

"I will go invisible and give an overview of the surroundings... Silf will give commands... Rin and Fio will support from behind, while Mac and Ena will protect the healer and supports... Drax, Gil, Maj, Pin, and Zek... Please fight until the end, Kur will surely heal you..." With Number One's last look behind, she stared at Kur, smiling, before she used her cloak's invisibility.

"Get ready!" Silf commanded.

Exactly as Shai took a step forward to scout ahead, crimson eyes slowly lit up, tens, hundreds, until the torchlight attached to the wall all lit up simultaneously, showing hundreds of Orcs with different classes.

"HA! HA! HA! Fools who delivered themselves to be our amusement..."

A towering Orc seated at the end of the room, on a throne adorned with hundreds of different kinds of bones, was amused by the people present.

The Overlord bellowed, making all of the Numbers kneel without resistance.

The Orcs didn't need any command; after the fear was cast by the Overlord, they immediately attacked the Numbers.

"Dispel!" Kur whispered, removing the effect of fear from all the Numbers.

Silf raised her staff; a magic circle slowly built up with every word she recited.

"BLAZING!"

A tornado of fire swept throughout the boss room, burning every Orcs it touched.

Rin and Fio immediately cast their enhancement spells on the tanks and the fighters, while also giving mana to Silf.

"Hold the Line!"

With their initial tactic, combined with the number of the Orcs, only Silf's destructive spell offered their only chance to survive the calamity.

Though the fighters and the tanks could still hold the defense with the help of heal and supportive spells, it was still not enough to last long, especially once their mana was depleted; then their lives would continuously deplete.

Shai, invisible, cold-heartedly studied the Orcs' formation. It was a simple tactic against few opponents: Just attack.

The Overlord watched with bored eyes, holding his twin thick kukris. With another roar, he cast Berserk on all the Orcs.

The Orcs, already overwhelming the Numbers, received another enhancement that made them more powerful.

"Blazing!"

Another tornado swept across the battlefield. Because it was also near the Numbers, they were also affected by the heat.

"Heal!"

"We need to retreat! We will all die at this rate!" Mac shouted.

"Fight! We have a better chance of winning here than fighting our Master..." Zek replied, still slashing at the Orcs.

"Shai! Faster!" Drax pleaded.

Gripping her chained sickle, Shai silently assisted the Numbers with her stealth attacks, killing the shamans and archers present.

It was a guess at first, but Shai's observation proved correct when she slashed an Orc; the damage was deadlier compared to the damage the Numbers received from the Orcs.

And this was true, since the system of Eldrion Online favored the Players more than the Mobs, unless they passively accepted the attack without fighting back.

Unless players are in Hardcore Adventure or fighting a World Boss, Dungeon Mobs are nothing but experience points for upgrading Combat Mastery and Specialization.

Yet, having been slaves for too long, being passive their whole lives, they couldn't see how easy it was to survive the dungeon, especially with their numbers.

In truth, the dungeon chosen by Dexter for their training was just a solo dungeon. This meant it could be completed solo with the right gear.

The only problem was, like Dexter at first, they didn't know how to fight. Swinging consumed their SP too quickly. Their attacks were not efficient; even casting spells without caring for their MP reserves wasn't optimal. Only Shai, acting like an assassin, conserved her energy during the whole fight.

"Attack! They're not as strong as we think! Attack! Kill them! Don't defend, Kur will heal us!"

Although hesitant at first, they started following Shai's command, attacking without caring for their lives.

One thing they hadn't expected was that as they continuously fought, Kur's mana was continuously depleting every time he healed them. The mana given by Rin and Fio was focused on Silf, who abused mana like a Warlock.

When all the Orcs were defeated, with the exception of the Overlord, he stood up slowly.

"Ha! Ha! Ha!" he laughed.

Emboldened by their resolve after killing all the Orc mobs, the Numbers stood proudly, waiting for the Overlord to move.

Until...

"Urgh..."

With the blink of an eye, Kur was sent flying to the other side of the room, unconscious and bleeding.

With another slash, the tanks were swept away; Mac and Ena's bodies were cut in half.

Rin and Fio unconsciously wet themselves in fear from the Overlord's sudden attack.

"I can smell fear..." the Overlord taunted, before beheading the two woman.

"Arrrrgh!" The fighters attacked, but with their fear and ineffective swings, they couldn't hit the Overlord and were beheaded one by one.

Silf, who had cast a protective barrier, didn't last long either. Under the onslaught of the Overlord's continuous swings, it burst, dismembering Silf tragically.

Shai watched it all happen in just a few seconds...

Her party... was wiped out.

She knelt... her eyes hollow and vacant... yet she was smiling... Until a kukri separated her head from her body, making it roll to the ground... As her consciousness slowly fading, she saw her companions' bodies vanish... without a trace...
