She had originally thought of asking herself but worried it might seem too abrupt. After all, she represented the Ye Family, and the Ye Family was a partnering company with Jufeng Group.

Ye Qilan had been continuously dialing Su Hongxing’s cell phone, but the woman had yet to answer. One time during those attempts, Qiao Qiao picked up the call and told him that Su Hongxing wasn’t by her side.

Just as she was about to return the call, Ye Qilan’s number came in again. As soon as she answered, his relieved voice sounded. “Honey, you finally picked up? Are you angry? If there’s something bothering you, just tell me. I’m not very quick-witted…”

“If someone like you is considered slow, how are other truly slow people supposed to live? I just finished my meal—have you had yours yet?” Su Hongxing was concerned that Ye Qilan might not have eaten lunch up until now.

“I’ve been worrying about you, how could I eat? I’m still in the office.” Ye Qilan heard a knock on the door and lowered his voice as he spoke to Su Hongxing. “Honey, as long as you’re okay.”

“What could possibly happen to me? Now hurry up and go eat. And remember, don’t let other women take advantage of you!” After saying this, Su Hongxing hung up the phone.

As soon as the call disconnected, Assistant Luo knocked and entered, timing it perfectly.
