My Ex-wife’s revenge
Revenge Novel 27
Only the Argent family could have done this for rissa.
ricka shut her eyes tightly, her face paling.
She knew she meant nothing to the Argent family, but she never imagined they would act so brazenly.
A female officer suddenly held her hand. “Ms. Huston, what’s wrong? Your hands are shaking so much.”
rieka shook her head, dazed. “I need to find someone. Wait for me
a moment.
When she left the police station, rieka called Kieran.
Only Kieran could handle such matters so quickly.
Only him.
No one answered for a long time, so long that rieka nearly lost patience,
Just as she was about to hang up, the call was answered, but it was Kieran’s assistant.
i“/iiMs. /iHuston, Mr. Argent is in a meeting and can’t take the call. Can I take a message?”
Right after he spoke, Roschelle’s voice came through.
“Kier, I’ming in/
rieka scoffed. “This is what you call a meeting?”
The assistant was silent for a moment. “Mr. bArgent /basked not to b disturbed. I can’t help it.”
ricka didn’t want to argue with him. “Pass the phone to Kieran. 1 need to talk to him.”
The assistant fell silent, probably covering the phone to check with Kieran.
After a rustle of fabric, Kieran’s deep voice came through. “What is it?”
ricka said, “Did you make Ivan transfer schools?”
Kieran’s tone turned colder. “Are you feeling sorry for him?”
It was him.
rieka clenched her fists tightly. “Kieran, are you out of your mind? He’s just a student, a student!”
Kieran suddenly sneered. “rieka, don’t go too far.”
“Don’t go too far?” rieka closed her eyes, her heart aching. “I’ll say the same words to you.”
There was another rustle on the line, and then Roschelle’s voice came through.
“rieka, I know girls your age can be impulsive, but you can’t do things that harm your body and reputation. You can wait until graduation.
“Kier did that for your own good.”
If Roschelle’s voice hadn’t carried a hint of provocation and gloating, rieka might have believed the lies.

She said nothing more and hung up.
Though Ivan was transferring schools, it had only been half a day, and his family couldn’t move so fast.
ricka got his address from a teacher and hurried to his home.
Halfway there, her taxi was cut off by an ordinary–looking van.
ricka stared at it, and an uneasy feeling crept up her spine.
The area was quiet with few people and few cars. That van had been tailing them for a while.
The taxi driver rolled down the window and yelled, “Who the hell parks in the middle of the road?”
But before he could finish, three men in ck suits stepped out of the
van.
The driver instantly shut up.
ricka slumped back in her seat.
One of the bodyguards looked familiar. He worked for Wace.
The moment rieka saw him, she knew this matter would never be followed up.
At least not now.
The driver was shaking in his seat. She unbuckled, ced some cash on the center console, and said calmly, “This has nothing to do with you. I’m getting out.”
As soon as she stepped out, the bodyguards approached.
Their heads were lowered, but their tone was sharp. “Ms. Huston, Mr.
Argent would like you to return.”
She walked straight to their car and got in.
At the Argent’s vi.
“I heard what rissa did. You’ve been wronged,” Wace said.
He didn’t look sorry at all. He seemed to calmly assign a task.
“You’re hurt, right? Go to my hospital. I’ll get the best doctors for you.
