Anton randomly chose the door to the left. When he opened it, he found a chamber that resembled a dance hall, where parties for nobles could be held. The crystal chandeliers in the ceiling were particularly beautiful, and the dance hall didn’t have any sign of wear. It looked like a well-maintained hall, which was out of character from the initial floor that Anton arrived on and the dilapidated hallway full of traps that he traversed.

He examined every inch of the dance hall, and after he didn’t see any monsters, he started flying inside. After he flew for a couple of meters, the dance hall dramatically changed its appearance from well well-maintained one to one full of wear and tear. It now looked like a room inside a haunted castle.

The transformation special effect impressed Anton. It could rival the most advanced CGI effects of modern movies. Suddenly, the door on the side opened, and eleven couples entered one by one. The last pair looked like monarchs and placed themselves on the thrones located at the farthest part of the room, looking at the couples who scattered themselves in the dance hall.

Anton noticed that all of the couples were translucent. It meant that these people were ghosts and probably the monsters he had to deal with to get past the room. The ten couples who scattered themselves on the floor arranged themselves to look like they were about to perform some sort of ballroom dance sequence.

Music suddenly started, and then ghosts started dancing. Anton could have attacked immediately and would probably have gained an advantage if he had done so, but he was mesmerized by the dance performance by the ghosts. He immediately activated the recording function of his Globe of Browser sharing so he could record the dance sequence.

Anton knew that the performance was supposed to be viewed by a living audience as eerie or frightening due to the dilapidated state of the dance hall, the wear and tear of the costumes that the ghosts were wearing, and the horrifying visages of the ghosts, since they all looked like they still bore all the wounds that caused them to die, but due to how amazing the performance was, he could only view it as some sort of art.

The dance performance of the ghosts was long, but Anton watched it from start to finish. After the dance was done, Anton could not help but clap. All of the ghosts then faced Anton, and together, including the two who looked like the king and queen, bowed down together. Their movement was synchronized but was not robotic. It was so fluid that the bows of the males and the curtsies of the females truly impressed Anton. He felt like he was looking at a bunch of true nobles who grew up in the strictest form of noble etiquette.

Anton kept clapping since he truly appreciated the performance. After a few minutes, he expected ghosts to attack him, but the one who looked like the king suddenly spoke to him.

“We can feel your sincere appreciation of our performance, and all of us here thank you for that. Since you are a connoisseur of art, we will give you a choice. The first choice is for you to leave this chamber with your life. The second is for you to continue your intention to battle with us. You are powerful, but so are we. What’s your choice then?”

“I went to this place to hone my battle expertise. I don’t know if you’re true beings or just a product of the magic of the dungeon. Either way, I chose to fight,” Anton replied resolutely.

He then summoned his five Dire Wolves, five Spirit Wolves, five Ravens, his Valkyrie, his Shadow Master, and his Clay Golem. Anton then activated his Fanaticism Aura to make sure that all of his summons were at their peak.

Half of the ghosts suddenly disappeared, and the other half, including the king and queen, started casting spells. The act surprised Anton since this was the first time he had seen ghosts casting spells. The king and queen ghosts targeted him while the rest targeted his summons. The spells that the ghosts cast were typical spells, like rays of different elements and bolts of different elements.

The ghost that disappeared suddenly appeared near Anton’s summons, attacking them using melee attacks.

Anton managed to avoid the spells that were targeted at him by simply teleporting. His Valkyrie and his Shadow Master also avoided the spells, but the rest tanked the damage. The damage from the ghosts spells was considerable. He was a bit surprised since his summons’ defenses were great due to their level. He immediately switched his aura from Fanaticism to Cleansing, and all of the damages were healed almost instantly.

The battle between the ghosts and the summons started. Anton was comforted by the fact that his summons were able to damage the ghosts as well, since he was half-expecting that his minions' attacks wouldn’t reach the ghosts due to the enemies being ethereal. He forgot that all of his summons were also made of mana.

Anton switched his aura from Cleansing back to Fanaticism. After that, he started casting a spell towards the ghost king and queen. As usual, he first used his favorite spell, which was the Frozen Orb spell, but the ghost monarchs copied his movement and teleported away from the Frozen Orb. He was a little surprised at the ability of the ghosts to teleport, and that gave them an opening to cast some sort of ray spell onto Anton, and he was hit.

Anton had a lot of spell defenses, but admittedly, most of them were geared toward physical attacks. His Energy Shield and massive elemental resistances did block the majority of the spell damage of the ghost, which appeared to be some sort of fire element. His mana dipped a bit, but Anton’s health did not, which comforted him.

The spell battle between Anton and the ghost king and queen commenced above with them flying and teleporting all over the place, while Anton’s summons and the rest of the ghosts fight it out on the ground.

Since the ghost king and queen’s movement was as quick as Anton he resorted to casting quick spells like Chain Lightning and Lightning spells, and those that had a massive area of effect, like the Druid’s Hurricane and the Armageddon spells, since his summons would not be affected too much due to them being on the ground.

Anton could not avoid all of the spells that the ghosts cast at him, but he was able to mitigate the damage because of his massive defenses, elemental resistances, and his healing aura. His damage against the ghost were also humongous and even though the fight was extraordinary lengthy due to the fact that the ghost king and queen managed to avoid almost half of the spells that Anton cast, ultimately, his spell damage was superior to the dungeon monsters and soon the ghost king and queen were reduced to protoplasm and fell to the ground.

After that, Anton assisted his summons in finishing off the rest of the ghosts by targeting them with single attack spells like the Lightning spell and the Ice Blast spell. He also cast several Hydras who targeted the ghosts with their Firebolts.

When all of the ghosts were dead, Anton tagged their protoplasm left over with the dungeon key since, according to the guild book, they were materials that he could submit. After that, he collected the mana stones and the items that came out of the couple of chests that appeared in the thrones that the ghost king and queen were seated on earlier.

Anton had to admit that the fight with the ghosts was the longest fight he had ever experienced, so far.
