My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 515
Anton was annoyed when the lich’s shield spell managed to deflect his attack spells. Not only that, just like Anton, the lich also teleported around to avoid incoming spells. Because of that, it managed to avoid most of Anton’s Hydra’s Firebolts. Still, since Anton summoned a humongous amount of Hydras, that meant that some of their Firebolts reached the lich.
His Valkyrie was also very powerful and accurate, and all of the arrows that came out of its bow reached the lich. The powerful undead wizard’s shield spell managed to block all of his Valkyrie’s attacks. Nevertheless, Anton knew that the arrows helped a lot.
Anton switched to using area of effect spells, so he used the Sorceress’s Frozen Orb, Blizzard, and the Druid’s Hurricane, Armageddon, and Volcano. He was not worried that his Valkyrie would be hit by his spells since it placed itself far away from the lich.
The lich was extremely skillful, and its spells were mighty. It kept teleporting around to avoid his spells, but Anton kept following it by teleporting as well. His Necromancer’s curses did aid with the battle since the combination of the cold spells and his curses managed to slow down the lich by a lot.
The lich summoned three floating skulls, and the skulls kept casting some ray spell towards Anton and his Valkyrie. The Valkyrie was very nimble and managed to avoid all of the spells of the skulls. The problem was, after the skull was summoned, the lich continued casting spells just like Anton.
The lich would sometimes summon a huge translucent shield that would block Anton’s Frozen Orb, but the fact that Anton didn’t need downtime to cast his spells, his continuous casting of Frozen Orb, Blizzard, Armageddon, Hurricane, Volcano, and Hydras finally destroyed the lich’s shield spell.
The lich looked like it had become enraged since its aura grew. It cast a very powerful spell on Anton, and he wasn’t able to avoid it. He didn’t know what spell it was. Maybe it was supposed to be a lethal spell like Finger of Death since Anton was aghast to see that his mana pool dipped down by seventy-five percent and his health dipped down by fifty percent.
Anton immediately teleported several times away from the scene of the battle to make sure that his mana and his health were full before engaging the lich again. His Meditation and Cleansing Aura filled up his mana and his health in no time, so he immediately returned to the center of the battle to assist his Valkyrie in hitting the lich.
The first spells that he cast were his curses, then Anton filled the area with Hydras to assist him and his Valkyrie in casting spells towards the lich. The Firebolts rarely hit the lich since it kept on teleporting around, but because there were such a huge number of Hydras, some of them got lucky and hit the lich.
Anton kept casting his area of effect spells, and those spells were very hard to avoid. The three flying skulls that the lich summoned finally succumbed to the Valkyrie's magic arrows and Anton’s area of effect spell. He was expecting the lich to summon them again, but the undead wizard continued casting spells towards Anton that he kept avoiding by teleporting around.
The fact that Anton did not have to utter incantations, and his spells practically had no cooldown, meant that there was no downtime between his spellcasting, which was a huge advantage compared to the lich’s spellcasting.
The lich’s spells were very powerful, and Anton managed to acquire several inspirations from the undead wizard’s spell work, and he was a little grateful to the lich because of that. It didn’t change the fact that Anton had to do his best to destroy the lich.
The Valkyrie was hit by a powerful spell and was greatly damaged, but Anton simply dispelled the summon and summoned a new one. The lich noticed that action and because of that, it ignored the Valkyrie and concentrated on casting its spell towards Anton.
Thankfully, the lich could not spam its lethal spells. The spell battle continued for several more minutes, but because Anton outdamaged the lich simply because of the rate he could cast his spells, the lich inevitably fell.
The lich disintegrated, but curiously, most of its gears, like its mage robe, its circlet, its wand, and its accessories, like its pendants and rings, remained. Its glowing eyes remained as well, so Anton immediately tagged the lich with his dungeon key. He knew that the lich’s eyes were quest items, so he stored them immediately.
Based on the powerful glow that the item the lich was wearing, they were extremely powerful. Anton cleaned them all using his cleaning spell, then stored them in his inventory to be inspected at a later time. The lich also dropped a high-level mana stone.
After defeating the lich, Anton knew that there were no monsters on this floor that could threaten him. He continued fighting the monsters on the floor, and they were diverse. Most of the monsters were undead, but all of them were powerful. To be honest, they were the most powerful monsters that Anton had encountered, except for the powerful wizards from the Undead Coalition that attacked their ship.
By the time evening arrived, Anton was surprised to see that he had only vanquished half of the monsters on the floor. That meant that it would probably take him another day to complete the 40th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon.
At around eight in the evening, Anton prepared to rest in one of the rooms where he had to select a door. He retrieved his cute tiny house from his inventory, summoned his wolves and his ravens to guard him, and entered his house to rest. He took a luxurious hot mana water bath first, then ate some of the delicious food that he had in his inventory. After that, he spent a few hours watching a movie. He felt a little overwhelmed lately, so he watched a movie that was recommended to him by an internet acquaintance, which was an old chick-flick by Keri Russel and Nathan Fillion. It was called Waitress. It was a nice romantic film, and it did lift Anton a little, and because of that, he fell asleep with a smile on his face.
For a brief moment, Anton felt a little shallow for becoming happy after watching a movie, but he realized that the reason why his Diablo II system allowed him to have access to the internet was because it knew that having accessed to the internet was essential to Anton’s happiness in this world and he firmly believed that his system was given to him to help him survive and be happy in this new world that he transmigrated to.
Anton thought that his Diablo II system might not allow him to become the premier existence in this world, just like some of the other systems from web novels that he had read over the internet but he felt that it was incomparable to the others due to the fact that it would be able to provide him endless entertainment from Earth’s internet. He had to admit that it was shallow, but he didn’t care.
The main problem that he had encountered with that lady Invincible Wizard, wasn’t actually related to Earth’s media content. It was about his ability to allow wizards to grow extremely fast or even to allow normal folks who had little mage talent to become wizards. That meant that if he continued with his business of showing movies, it would probably not bother the powerful beings of this world.
