Anton felt a little frustrated when he saw the giant worm diving deep into the ground. He didn’t want to battle to prolong and didn’t want to move forward without killing the monster, since it would make him a little anxious about the worm trying to ambush him.

Of course, Anton would be safe since he would almost always be above, flying. However, he would still need to camp on the ground when it was time for him to rest, and he didn’t think that he would be able to rest comfortably if he knew that there was a huge monster underground that could ambush him anytime.

He tried to cast spells on the ground like his favorite Frozen Orb spell, but that did nothing. He then tried some of the druid spells that targeted the ground, but they also did nothing. The problem was, he actually now didn’t know where the worm was.

Anton then thought that maybe the giant worm was waiting for him to get on the ground so it could be ambushed. He summoned his five Spirit Wolves, five Dire Wolves, and his Dire Bear and commanded his minions to jump up and down.

The tactic worked. The activities of his summons tempted the worm so much that it soon surfaced, trying to eat all of his summons. Anton immediately commanded all of his summons to attack the giant worm from inside its mouth before they died. His summons, backed by his Fanaticism Aura, was powerful. Since they were inside the mouth of the giant worm that ambushed them from the ground, they did considerable damage while they were all being swallowed, especially the Dire Bear.

Anton also started casting curses on the giant worm again, and this time, he focused all of his Ice Spells toward the ground in an attempt to freeze the ground to prevent the giant worm from diving under again.

The Ice Blast spell and the Ice Comet spell were particularly good at freezing the ground, but looking at the result of the ground freezing, Anton didn’t know if it would work. He attempted to entice the giant worm by summoning his Druid summons again, and that worked. Instead of diving into the ground, the giant worm lunged at the summons in an attempt to eat all of them.

In the meantime, Anton didn’t stop casting curses at the worm to keep it weak and sluggish and to make sure that it would receive massive damage from the summons and all of his spells. Anton cast the Sorceress’s Frozen Orb, Blizzard, Meteor, Hydra, and the Fire Wall spells, then he cast the Druid’s Hurricane, Armageddon, and the Volcano spells.

Once all of his summons were swallowed by the giant worm, Anton would resummon them again to make sure that the worm would not dive down, then he would continue casting his curses and his spells towards the gigantic monster. After repeating this action several times, the giant worm soon fell.

Anton immediately tagged the giant worm’s corpse to make sure that it wouldn’t disappear immediately, so he could harvest what he could. He then checked the Adventurer Guild book regarding which part of the worm he could harvest, and was surprised that he didn’t see any entries about giant worms.

He shrugged and summoned his Valkyrie and his Shadow Master. The three of them started harvesting the giant worm’s teeth since he thought that maybe it was the part that he could submit, since it was the hardest part of the monster. It allowed the worm to dive into the earth.

When the giant worm’s corpse finally disappeared, Anton was surprised to see five high-level mana stones appear. He stored all the giant teeth that he had harvested and the mana stones in his inventory.

Anton then reflected on his most recent and first battle with the monster on the 50th floor of the Corridors of Amuneta dungeon. First, he was never in danger, but that was due to the fact that he could fly and teleport. Besides, those skills would allow him to be safe in most situations anyway, especially dealing with melee monsters who couldn’t fly. He hadn’t tested his defenses against the giant worm since it hadn’t been able to reach him. His summons did die immediately after they had been swallowed, so more than likely, he would have received great damage if he had been swallowed by the monster as well.

That meant that the monsters on this floor were capable of damaging him if they reached him, but that was still up for debate. His defenses, brought on by stats and his gear both from inside the game and outside, were massive. Anton even had the feeling that if he focused as a melee character, meaning his gear inside the game would be primarily focused on the Barbarian’s skills, he could function as a powerful warrior, but then again, he didn’t want to get up close and personal with the monsters.

Based on that last battle, Anton needed to be more careful and not be cavalier in facing the monsters on this floor. After that contemplation, he summoned his five Ravens to act as scouts and five Spirit Wolves to trigger the traps on the ground if there were any or if there were any ambushers, just like the giant worm, the wolves could lure them out.

Once the ravens and the wolves were a little distance away from him, Anton started following them by flying after them. There were still no traps, but then again, he had a feeling that instead of traps, there would be a lot of ambushers on this floor.

He was correct in his assumptions because soon, seven scorpions as huge as his Dire Bear started coming up from behind the rocky walls and started attacking his Spirit Wolves. Based on what Anton could see, the strength of the Giant Scorpions was great, and their tails were extremely poisonous. One of the wolves was hit by one of the scorpion’s pincers, and it received great damage. One of the other wolves was hit by one of the scorpion’s tails and was poisoned, and based on the situation, the wolf would die from poison after a few minutes.

Anton wasn’t afraid of the giant scorpions since they were melee monsters. If all they did was hit their enemies using their pincers and their tails, this fight would not be difficult. He dispelled all of his summons and then summoned all of his minions in front of him as a group. He switched to Fanaticism Aura and then commanded all of his summons to run towards the giant scorpions.

At first, the scorpions were surprised when their enemies disappeared. Then they saw the brand new group of enemies appear in front of them, aggressively running towards them. The giant scorpions clapped their pincers loudly, which could be their version of growling or roaring, then the seven monsters ran to meet Anton’s minions.

Anton immediately cast curses on the monsters, followed by his Frozen Orb spell to slow the monsters down, then he cast several Hydras for added damage.

His Valkyrie and Shadow Master were great damage dealers, and they were able to evade the scorpions’ attacks. Thankfully, Anton had already learned that his summons would not be affected by his curses and his spells, so he kept renewing the curses on the monster and kept on attacking the monster with his spells.

Anton was a little surprised at the power that the giant scorpions wielded. The defenses of the monsters were unexpectedly huge. Some of his summons, like the Spirit Wolves and the Dire Wolves, actually died, but then again, he just summoned them again and commanded the newly summoned minions to continue attacking the scorpions.
