My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!
Chapter 122 - 74: I’ll Listen to You [Part 2]
CHAPTER 122: CHAPTER 74: I’LL LISTEN TO YOU [PART 2]
When the scene turned to himself being bullied, Rong Ye instead calmed down. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and released the hand he had been tightly clenching.
He knew that he was now inside an Illusion Array. This array had captured the events he least wanted to witness, using them to provoke him. If his mind were not resolute enough, he might fall for it, or even suffer from derangement!
Unfortunately, just because he didn’t want to see it didn’t mean he was afraid of it, so he wasn’t overwhelmed by anger and hatred!
He stepped forward, approached the bullied version of himself, and a Fire Talisman appeared in his hand. He personally killed ’himself’. When ’he’ was engulfed in flames, the scene in front of him shattered and disappeared, and he directly fainted.
...
When Jun Wu opened his eyes, he found himself in a room. Just as he was wondering what had happened, he saw Gu Qingqing walk in from outside. Without thinking much, he walked up to her.
"Qingqing, where did you go?" He held Gu Qingqing’s hand and sat with her at the table, asking with concern.
"I didn’t go anywhere, just wandered around outside for a while, then came back to find you." Gu Qingqing, holding Jun Wu’s hand, said with a cheerful smile.
Jun Wu frowned but soon relaxed, "It’s good that you’re back; I prepared your favorite snacks for you. Please, have some!" Saying this, he pushed the snacks on the table towards Gu Qingqing.
"Alright." Gu Qingqing picked up the snacks and stuffed them into her mouth, her eyes curving into crescent moons, clearly showing her delight.
Seeing Gu Qingqing enjoy the snacks, Jun Wu felt very happy inside and quietly watched her eat.
"Jun Wu, I want to ask you something." Gu Qingqing swallowed the snack in her mouth and suddenly changed her expression to a serious one, looking at Jun Wu, "If one day you had to die for me, would you?"
Jun Wu was momentarily stunned, seemingly not expecting Gu Qingqing to ask such a question.
"Of course, I would!" But he was only stunned for a moment, quickly giving his answer.
Gu Qingqing, happy with the answer, suddenly produced a dagger in her hand and, taking advantage of Jun Wu’s inattention, stabbed towards his heart.
Jun Wu’s smile turned cold. He struck Gu Qingqing’s chest with his palm; Gu Qingqing spat out a mouthful of blood, the dagger falling to the ground, looking at Jun Wu in disbelief.
"Why? Didn’t you say you’d die for me?" Her eyes filled with tears, seemingly heartbroken by Jun Wu’s action.
A trace of reluctance flashed in Jun Wu’s eyes, but his facial expression remained unchanged, "I would die for Qingqing, but sadly, you are not her! You’re just an illusion!"
As Jun Wu finished speaking, the figure of Gu Qingqing vanished!
Jun Wu’s vision went black, and he lost consciousness.
...
After Nalan Qing seized the chance to escape from Nalan Jin’s grip, she ran chaotically within the palace searching for opportunities. Her cultivation had been crippled, weakening her body significantly, making her no match for others. She had to stay away from crowds, seeking places with fewer people, but ended up being taken away instead of finding opportunities.
Just when she thought she was utterly out of luck, she opened her eyes to find herself inside a palace.
In the palace, there was a statue, a male statue almost life-sized. The statue was exquisitely crafted, and at first glance, Nalan Qing thought it was a real person, giving her a fright.
The statue’s face was handsome, its clothing appeared markedly noble, implying the extraordinary status of the man.
As Nalan Qing curiously looked at the statue, a voice suddenly echoed in her ears.
"You, my chosen inheritor, have finally arrived." It was a slightly deep male voice, magnetic, the type that could make ears fall in love.
Nalan Qing was startled, glancing around but finding nothing. Eventually, her gaze fell on the statue in front of her.
"Yes, the voice you hear now is left by me. Within this statue lies my inheritance. You only need to cut your forefinger, let your blood touch the forehead of my statue, and you can receive my inheritance!" The man’s voice continued, filled with temptation.
Nalan Qing did not act immediately; she stared skeptically at the statue in front of her for a long time, hesitating, but ultimately couldn’t resist her yearning for the Secret Realm’s inheritance. She bit her forefinger, stood on tiptoe, and smeared her blood on the statue’s forehead.
The statue suddenly emitted a glow. Nalan Qing was delighted, thinking she truly obtained the inheritance, but before she could celebrate, she felt darkness engulf her.
...
Gu Qingqing and the Red Flame Venerable Master stood together before a Jade, observing the scenes of everyone entering the Secret Realm. When she saw Si Lin and others, she was somewhat anxious, silently praying that they could notice the anomalies, and it seemed they did not disappoint her. None of them were tempted by the things within the Secret Realm.
Seeing that many people couldn’t resist the temptation and were directly sent out of the Secret Realm, Gu Qingqing once again felt fortunate that Si Lin and the others had firm Dao hearts!
After everyone was assessed, those who passed appeared on the Jade, including Si Lin and the five others, Jun Wu, and also Zhuo Tingqiu, Yun Ran, Jiang Yingshi, and about a dozen others.
"Girl, which one of these fellows do you think is suitable for inheriting my legacy?" The Red Flame Venerable Master glanced at the scene on the Jade, turned his head, and asked Gu Qingqing, as if whoever she said, he would pass the legacy to them, he was quite casual about it!
Gu Qingqing didn’t expect the Red Flame Venerable Master would actually ask her and was momentarily stunned. Her gaze swept over the faces on the Jade, finally landing on the Red Flame Venerable Master.
"I still don’t know what aspect your legacy focuses on?" Since the Red Flame Venerable Master trusted her so much, she couldn’t let him down. Gu Qingqing earnestly asked.
"This master’s best skill is Alchemy, followed by swordsmanship. In the immortal life, after researching many things for a long time, you become proficient." The Red Flame Venerable Master seemed a bit dazed, as if reminiscing about those old times.
"My Fourth Senior Brother has a great talent in Alchemy, and is already an Alchemist at the Grandmaster Level, you can choose him as the heir!" Gu Qingqing thought for a moment and still recommended Mu Chen.
Among these people, Mu Chen had the most talent with Elixirs and was at the highest level of Alchemy.
"Aren’t you afraid of angering this master by recommending your own senior brother?" The Red Flame Venerable Master looked deeply at Gu Qingqing, seemingly jokingly asked.
"You asked me to recommend someone, I’m just following your instructions. Besides, my Fourth Senior Brother indeed has talent in this area, I wasn’t just making it up!" Perhaps because the Red Flame Venerable Master always had a kind attitude toward her, Gu Qingqing became bolder, daring to retort, and looked at him with a pitiful gaze.
"Haha, you really are a lovable girl!" The Red Flame Venerable Master was not angry at all with Gu Qingqing and even laughed heartily, "Let’s go with your choice!"
With a wave of his hand, Mu Chen disappeared from the scene on the Jade and appeared in a separate room.
"Little girl, wait here. I’m going to pass something to your senior brother." The Red Flame Venerable Master told her, preparing to leave, but was stopped by Gu Qingqing.
"Venerable Master, could you please let my other senior brothers and friends come here to keep me company? I don’t know how long you’ll be gone, and I’ll be very bored alone." Gu Qingqing blinked her eyes, looking at the Red Flame Venerable Master pathetically, acting spoilt.
"Alright." The Red Flame Venerable Master agreed without much thought.
With a wave of his hand, Si Lin and the others disappeared from the scene and appeared in the room, while the others were transmitted away. The Jade in the room disappeared, and so did the Red Flame Venerable Master’s Primordial Spirit.
Si Lin had been meditating, but feeling like he was in a different place, he opened his eyes and saw Gu Qingqing. He quickly stood up, yet considering the recent experience, he suppressed his excitement and carefully observed Gu Qingqing and the surroundings.
The others reacted similarly to Si Lin. Having just undergone an Illusion Realm, everything seemed suspicious until they noticed their situation was the same.
"Senior brothers, don’t guess wildly, this isn’t an Illusion Realm, I’m real!" Gu Qingqing initially didn’t understand their reaction, but soon realized what they were thinking, feeling amused, she hurriedly explained.
Si Lin and the others were still a bit doubtful.
"This shouldn’t be an Illusion Array, it really is Little Qingqing." Nan Hua carefully sensed and informed the others of his conclusion.
Now, the others finally dared to interact with Gu Qingqing.
"Qingqing, how did you get here? Are you alright?" Jun Wu was the first to go to Gu Qingqing’s side, grabbing her hand and checking her condition while asking.
"I’m fine." Gu Qingqing answered as he examined her.
"Qingqing, what happened? Where’s Mu Chen?" Yue Zhao was the first to notice Mu Chen’s absence and asked.
"The Fourth Senior Brother received the Secret Realm’s inheritance and is currently accepting it." Gu Qingqing answered directly.
"How did you know that Mu Chen received the inheritance?" Si Lin looked at Gu Qingqing, raising an eyebrow.
"Because I was right here watching you all go through the trials." Gu Qingqing tilted her head, looking very innocent as she said.
Si Lin and the others’ eyes focused instantly on Gu Qingqing. Yun Ran directly pounced on her and hugged Gu Qingqing with a mischievous smile, "Little Qingqing, be honest, how did you end up watching us undergo the trials?"
Gu Qingqing, having planned not to hide it, recounted being brought here. After listening, everyone including Jun Wu fell silent.
"Little Qingqing, you’re really the beloved daughter of the Heavenly Dao, right?" Yun Ran looked at Gu Qingqing and whispered hauntingly.
"No doubt!" Zhuo Tingqiu rarely chimed in, "Honestly, it’s infuriating. We were risking our lives exploring and being tested, while you were effortlessly chosen and watching us being tested. Anyone would believe you’re the Heavenly Dao’s real daughter!"
