CHAPTER 71: CHAPTER 26 PURIFICATION, CHERRY MEAT_2
By 2569, it could autonomously make breakfast, easily handling tasks like cooking porridge and preparing side dishes, sparing Du Xixi the trouble of personally cooking.
Ke Lian was still very eager to help Du Xixi with serving porridge, picking side dishes for her, and even enthusiastically wanting to feed her breakfast himself. Fortunately, Du Xixi held her ground and directly pushed him back into his seat: "Eat your breakfast properly on your own."
Ke Lian straightened up, secretly observing Du Xixi’s expression, and seeing her peaceful face and gentle gaze, he was reassured that her anger had subsided, allowing him to eat breakfast with peace of mind.
How could Du Xixi not notice the person across the table observing her? She just didn’t mind. Last night, Ke Lian did make her right hand tired, but between a couple, there’s really nothing to be angry about.
Ke Lian had already apologized through his actions, and Du Xixi, who initially had only a bit of complaint, had long since let go of her anger by this time.
After breakfast, with Ke Lian having no urgent tasks and Du Xixi having nothing to do, the couple snuggled together on the sofa, chatting idly.
"I heard from Sister Mo Ying that today she’ll have her parents arrange a matchmaking for her, I wonder how it’ll go." Du Xixi played with Ke Lian’s right hand, amusing herself by squeezing his long, distinct fingers.
The soft strength of the little wife’s hands felt like a gentle scratch to Ke Lian, filling his eyes with warmth. He lightly rested his cheek on Du Xixi’s hair, feeling its softness: "She’ll handle it well, Mo Ying is very capable."
Ke Lian also knew about Mo Ying’s accomplishments in the Military Department, and if it weren’t for her spiritual power collapse, she might have been promoted several ranks by now and could even have been transferred under Ke Lian as an officer.
The troops under Ke Lian’s command were personally cultivated by him. Over time, members were selectively transferred out and into the unit, making it a top-notch team in the entire Military Department, undefeated in battle.
Each member of this team could independently take charge, representing a victorious general on the battlefield.
Unfortunately... aside from Ke Lian’s constant jealousy whenever Du Xixi was too close with him, Mo Ying was also a very promising talent in Ke Lian’s eyes.
He believed Mo Ying could manage her personal affairs well, even in matchmaking, Mo Ying could handle it smoothly and find a suitable partner.
Despite Ke Lian’s reassurance, Du Xixi did not entirely relax, lost in thought, when Rob arrived to deliver ingredients to Du Xixi.
However, today, Rob also brought a "small gift" — a box of bright, beautiful cherries covered in protective film, seemingly still with tiny droplets on them, appearing very fresh.
Rob came near the sofa, nodded slightly at Ke Lian as a greeting, then kneeled on one knee and presented the box of cherries to Du Xixi: "Miss, this is the fruit the master ordered me to deliver. I hope you like it."
"Cherries!" Du Xixi perked up, having been in the Star Era for quite a while but never having seen fruits before, "Where did these come from?"
"The master cultivated them on the Primitive Planet, they were just picked today." Rob said respectfully, his hand steady as he offered the cherries, slightly adjusting the distance when Du Xixi rose to ensure she wouldn’t be hit by the box.
Ke Lian helped Du Xixi take the not-so-light cherries, and Du Xixi curiously peeled off the protective film. Since Chen Yin had ordered Rob to deliver them, she confidently tried one.
The sweet, juicy cherries were always among Du Xixi’s favorite fruits. As she bit into one, her mouth was filled with juice, the sweet flavor spreading from her tongue throughout her body, prompting a satisfied sigh from Du Xixi.
She asked Rob, who was kneeling on one knee, to get up, smiling gratefully: "Thank you for going to the trouble again today, you should head back now."
"Delivering items for the master to Miss Xixi is an honor for Rob." Rob bowed slightly to Du Xixi, nodding a farewell to Ke Lian as usual, then left shortly afterward.
Du Xixi stuffed a few cherries into Ke Lian’s mouth, eating while musing, "Thanks so much to Brother for always thinking of me, I’m afraid growing these cherries in the Star Era not only involved efforts from his subordinates but also required him to brainstorm quite a lot of ideas, didn’t it?"
