My Husband, a Marshal: Conquering the Stars with My Culinary Arts
Chapter 99 - 35: Long-Awaited Blue Star_3
CHAPTER 99: CHAPTER 35: LONG-AWAITED BLUE STAR_3
After all, the identity of the Marshal’s Wife is quite famous on the Star Network. According to statistics from 2569, after the National Day celebration live stream, Du Xixi’s followers on the Star Network almost caught up to Ke Lian.
The reason is that Du Xixi looks way too outstanding...
Du Xixi opened the live stream, and a light screen popped up in front of her, projected mid-air in front of Du Xixi, perfectly capturing her entire body, but not getting Rob and 2569 on the side in frame.
Du Xixi is a newcomer in the live streaming world. Her streamer name is the simple 2X, and her stream room’s name is even more straightforward with "Teach You How to Cook", which can be said to be very direct and to the point.
And quite successfully, it attracted no audience at all.
Or not, maybe there were two viewers, but unfortunately, they weren’t attracted by Du Xixi. Instead... Du Xixi turned and gave an innocent-looking 2569 and Rob a glance, and whispered, "I really should thank you guys!"
Those only two viewers, one named "Robot Taking Care of the Madam" and the other "Mecha Taking Care of the Miss," if you didn’t know, you’d think they were couple names!
Du Xixi immediately recognized them; these two viewers were clearly 2569 and Rob!
Rob smiled slightly to ease the awkwardness, while 2569, the silly robot with another short circuit, chuckled "hehe" twice and said with its mechanical hand, "Ah, no need to be so polite with us, Madam!"
Rob turned his head speechlessly, while Du Xixi speechlessly turned to face the live stream screen, and clicked a recording button on the side to start recording the entire live broadcast.
This was something Du Xixi learned from the tutorial guide on Star Network. Some streamers record their streams and later edit them into videos ranging from a few to several minutes and post them on the Star Network, which is also a form of promotion.
Du Xixi, determined to spread the word about food, had learned it well enough, but she didn’t know what the effect would be when put into practice.
Even though there were no viewers in the stream room, Du Xixi still conscientiously explained, "Today, I’m going to teach everyone how to make this dish called Stir-fried Bok Choy."
Considering that currently there is no "meat" in the interstellar times, Du Xixi chose to start with promoting vegetarian dishes, particularly simple and easy-to-make ones, so people wouldn’t find it hard to begin.
Paying no mind to the empty message board, Du Xixi meticulously cut off the hard roots of the bok choy, then crushed the garlic cloves and tossed them into the oil pan. As the garlic fragrance emerged, Du Xixi added in the bok choy, giving it a simple stir-fry until it changed color and started releasing its juices into the pan.
This truly was a very simple dish, and with Du Xixi’s crisp and swift actions, she took less than ten minutes to finish making the Stir-fried Bok Choy.
Du Xixi looked at the still clean viewer section, then at the freshly cooked, steaming and fragrant Stir-fried Bok Choy in front of her, feeling a bit disheartened, knowing her first live stream was basically a bust.
Dejectedly shutting down the unresponsive stream room, Du Xixi noticed that the recording time was only 7:29, and let out a light chuckle, saving herself the trouble of post-editing by directly uploading it to the new account she registered on Star Network—account name 2X.
The account with the big "Du Xixi" name, certified as Marshal Ke Lian’s wife, at least for now, Du Xixi didn’t intend to touch it, maybe occasionally log in to take a peek.
Du Xixi casually picked up chopsticks and finished off the freshly cooked, slightly hot Stir-fried Bok Choy, feeling that it was crisp and tasty in her mouth, and really delicious, wondering why she couldn’t attract any audience.
Rob and 2569 silently stood beside Du Xixi, sensing her unhappiness, but unsure how to comfort Du Xixi, considering they weren’t clear on this whole live streaming thing.
The three rookies silently faced each other until Du Xixi decided to watch other streams to gather some experience—at least to attract some viewers first!
Coincidentally, the stream room Du Xixi randomly chose also related to the "food" theme, with the streamer seemingly doing a food-tasting broadcast.
However, what she was tasting was "Stone Rice".
She had activated the sensory sharing feature, so every viewer in the stream room could taste the "deliciousness" of "Stone Rice".
The female streamer took a bite of the white rice, hard like a stone, yet still exclaimed, "Oh my, what a texture, so soft!"
The audience also reacted dramatically:
——Whoa, whoa, whoa! So this is how delicious rice is!
——The streamer must be rich! Able to afford white rice! Envy!
——Count me in.
...
Du Xixi expressionlessly closed the stream room, turning to ask Rob and 2569, "Do people in the Star Era have particularly strong teeth?"
Otherwise, why did Du Xixi feel like her teeth were about to fall out from one bite, and her throat was going to get scratched?
Rob and 2569 exchanged a glance, unsure how to answer this question which clearly exceeded their answerable range. However, whether humans had strong teeth or not, they didn’t know; at least neither of them, a robot and a mecha, seemed to have teeth?
