CHAPTER 130: A “GIRL”

Luther looked at Joshua, momentarily saying nothing as he pressed a cold towel over Joshua’s eyes, making him close them.

After a long while, Joshua suddenly heard Luther speak: "Joshua, can you tell me... the reason you’re afraid?"

Joshua paused for a moment.

Seeing that Joshua didn’t say anything, Luther couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed.

He suddenly pinched Joshua’s cheek. Joshua opened his eyes and looked at Luther, who was still silent.

Luther rubbed Joshua’s cheek and smiled: "Joshua, we’re off this weekend. Come meet my mom with me."

Joshua couldn’t help but widen his eyes a little. He remembered what Henry told him last night.

Luther’s secret had something to do with his mother.

He initially had no idea where to even begin completing this mission, but he didn’t expect Luther to suddenly extend such a direct invitation.

Even so, he still asked, "Why so sudden?"

Luther pulled Joshua into his arms, speaking softly: "My mom has always wanted to see me bring someone home. Okay, Joshua?"

Joshua felt Luther’s warmth. Luther had been strange lately—avoiding him like he was poisonous one moment, then clinging to him the next.

Joshua patted Luther’s back lightly and nodded. "Alright, I’ll go with you."

He even felt he should be grateful for Luther’s invitation.

And just like that, everything was decided.

These days, Joshua kept waiting, yet Henry never showed up again. Instead, Nine kept yelling nonstop for attention.

999999999: [Finally done promoting, right? You’re spending this weekend with me!]

MyJ: [I have to visit Luther’s mom with him this weekend. Another time.]

999999999: [Is there anyone worse than you, Joshua? And why do you even have to visit Luther’s mom?!]

MyJ: [Have you checked the side mission yet?]

Nine: "..."

Fine. Nine could only accept his fate. He couldn’t let Joshua complete missions while he sat off to the side, crying and rolling around.

Indeed, whenever missions were involved, Nine was very obedient.

Joshua paid him no mind. He looked at himself in the mirror, confirmed everything was fine, picked up the gift box he had prepared earlier, and got ready to head out.

At the exact moment, his phone started ringing.

Joshua answered, speaking softly: "I’m almost there."

Luther’s voice rang clearly through the phone: "Joshua, you really do change addresses a lot, huh?"

God knew Luther had intentionally arrived early to surprise Joshua. Instead, he couldn’t find him anywhere and was treated like a suspicious person. Only after calling did he learn Joshua had moved again!

Joshua: "..."

Joshua: "We agreed to meet somewhere else. You can’t blame me for that."

Although the meeting point had now been changed to Joshua’s new home, the two of them were still on the phone as Joshua stepped out of the apartment building.

He looked around but couldn’t see Luther anywhere.

"Where are you?" Joshua asked.

At that moment, a voice rang out behind him—perfectly overlapping with the voice on the phone: "I’m right here."

Joshua turned around and almost instantly froze, staring in disbelief at the scene before him.

Standing there was a "girl."

She wore a vintage-style high-neck dress that covered her protruding Adam’s apple; the top had puffed sleeves gathered at the wrist with pearl buttons, and below was a high-waisted skirt that cinched tightly at the waist and extended down to her calves in neat, even pleats.

Paired with knee-high boots, almost no skin was exposed. The entire outfit was a classic mix of beige and black.

Her blond hair was let down, she wore gold-rimmed glasses, and her already beautiful face had been deliberately made up in a feminine style.

Luther burst out laughing at Joshua’s slack-jawed expression.

He walked up and flicked Joshua’s forehead. "What are you spacing out for? Don’t recognize me anymore? Or were you dazzled by me?" His voice, too, was a woman’s—nothing like the deep tone he usually spoke with.

Even though he joked like that, if Joshua actually preferred him looking like this... Luther didn’t even know whether he should feel happy or sad.

But Joshua wasn’t in any state to think about whether he liked it or not.

He covered his forehead, staring blankly at Luther.

No—was this really Luther?

Sure, Luther looked stunning on a typical day, but right now... right now he was fully dressed and made up like this, and with that voice, he looked exactly like an overly tall girl with a slightly flat chest!

This—this was impossible!

"Do you know transformation magic?"

That was the first thing Joshua managed to say since seeing him.

Luther burst out laughing, rubbing Joshua’s hair hard. "You idiot—Joshua, you absolute idiot, hahaha."

Joshua instinctively grabbed Luther’s hand, mumbling, "Don’t do that..."

Only then did Joshua notice that Luther was actually wearing black lace gloves.

Joshua swallowed, looking at him cautiously. "Should we... keep some distance right now?"

Luther found Joshua’s hesitant behavior unbearably funny.

He pinched Joshua’s cheek, feeling the soft skin beneath his fingers, and his smile grew even brighter.

Right now, Joshua was more obedient than ever—completely forgetting how to resist. It was far too adorable.

Luther narrowed his eyes, then suddenly wrapped an arm around Joshua’s waist and said with a laugh, "Let’s go."

Joshua didn’t dare move an inch. His entire body stiffened like a wooden board as he followed Luther in a stiff, overly proper manner.

They were going to meet Luther’s mother, weren’t they?

So why was Luther dressed like this? Luther obviously hated being called "princess." Even as an image, he’d never accept being viewed as feminine.

And yet now he was wearing a dress—and makeup...

Joshua reflexively looked at Luther—only to see him resting his chin on his hand, smiling brightly at him.

Joshua pressed his lips together and looked away as if nothing was wrong, but he couldn’t stop glancing at Luther’s silky golden hair. His fingertips even twitched a little.

Seeing this, Luther couldn’t help laughing. "I should’ve let you do my hair and makeup, shouldn’t I?"

Joshua would definitely love that.

Sure enough, Joshua’s eyes lit up instantly—but then he shook his head. "No, I don’t have any skill at all. I’d ruin your face."

Luther narrowed his eyes at that, catching a different tone in Joshua’s response. "So... are you saying you’ve done makeup for someone else before?"

Joshua nodded. "When I was little."

He definitely couldn’t say what Henry looked like when he put makeup on him. After all, liking something didn’t mean you were good at it—life had proven that much.

The car rolled along, eventually stopping in front of a villa nestled beside a mountainside.

There weren’t many houses here. It was utterly quiet, the kind of place perfect for a retreat. Naturally, the care and services provided here weren’t cheap either, and the price of a villa here must be astronomical.

Joshua glanced at Luther, unable to help but wonder what kind of family Luther came from. A whole bunch of rich young masters—why did they all like wandering into the entertainment industry for fun?
