CHAPTER 202: THE CROWN PRINCESS

LEE SEOJIN was confused.

He remembered that his Blood Manipulation Skill was activated on its own when Seodam tried to hit him for the third time.

However, he didn’t remember what happened next.

[Did I black out because it was my first time using my ability?]

He didn’t know because he was yet to attend his orientation as a newly awakened Hunter.

After Park Ruda reported what happened, APA Hunters arrived and arrested Seojin while Lee Seodam was taken by the Hunter-Alchemists.

Seojin was then taken to the Blue House.

And, right now, he was in a small room that looked like an interrogation room. There was only a small table between him and the APA Hunter interrogating him.

"So, did you try to kill your hyung because he lectured and disciplined you a bit?"

By ’he,’ Seojin meant Hunter Kunwoo.

[The weird old man who tried to recruit me before.]

"Don’t I have the right to remain silent?" Seojin asked. "I’d also like to wait for my... savior."

"Savior?" Hunter Kunwoo asked, laughing. "I thought you’d ask for a lawyer."

"I don’t have money for a lawyer."

"APA will provide one for you, silly kid."

"No, thank you. I’m sure Wonhee Noona will be able to get me out of here."

"Now I get why Lee Seodam hit you," Hunter Kunwoo said, his smile fading away. "How shameless are you to call your older brother’s ex-girlfriend to come and "save" you?"

"Wonhee Noona isn’t just my hyung’s ex-girlfriend— she’s family to me."

"No wonder your brother hates you."

To be honest, that statement made Seojin flinch.

[It really seems like Hyung hates me now.]

After all, this was the first time Lee Seodam hit him.

"Lee Seojin, it seems like you can’t control your new power yet. It’s normal since newly awakened Hunters are at their strongest after their first awakening," Hunter Kunwoo said, sneering. "Don’t worry— I’ll tame you soon."

That sounded like a threat to Seojin.

[Wonhee Noona, please come soon...]

SINCE YEJUN already knew where the Blue House was, it didn’t take him long to get there with Wonhee.

And the security there was weaker than he was.

Hence, they ’landed’ exactly inside the Blue House.

"Yejun-ah?"

"Yes, Wonhee-ya?"

"I know that revealing my unusual skills as a Guide is dangerous," Wonhee said in a serious tone after Yejun put her down carefully. "But I need to threaten Kwon Jiwoong."

Ah, right.

That was a part of the plan that Wonhee discussed earlier: to increase her value in the eye of the greedy APA President.

[The fact that she’s telling me all of this can only mean one thing...]

"Don’t worry, Wonhee-ya," Yejun assured her confidently. "It’s true that revealing your skills is dangerous. But I’m here to protect you."

"That’s what I want to hear," Wonhee said, smiling at him. "Thank you, Yejun-ah."

Ah.

That smile.

[I’ve missed it so much.]

"I want to kiss you, Wonhee-ya."

"I’m still a bit upset with you, so don’t talk about kissing yet."

"How can I make it up with you then?"

"I’ll tell you later," Wonhee said, glancing at the person running towards them. "Let’s deal with this first."

"Miss Chu!"

It was President Kwon Jiwoong.

Yejun nodded while cracking his knuckles. "Your wish is my command, Wonhee-ya."

"MISS CHU, I know that you’re here for Lee Seodam. I’m sorry, but I cannot hand over this case to you."

Wonhee heard President Kwon Jiwoong, but she just smiled and said what she wanted to say anyway. "President Kwon, I didn’t ask for your permission. I said I’m here to pick up Lee Seojin."

"Lee Seojin attacked Hunter Lee Seodam— a Hunter that APA treasures," President Kwon said firmly. "Even if it’s you, I can’t simply hand him over. All matters related to Hunters are under my jurisdiction, Miss Chu."

"But Lee Seojin isn’t officially registered as a Hunter yet," Wonhee argued in a calm and polite tone. "He’s still a Civilian, so APA doesn’t have control over him. If you want to sue Lee Seojin for what he allegedly did to Hunter Lee Seodam, then let’s see each other in court, President Kwon."

"Miss Chu, APA is above the law."

"And so am I, President Kwon."

The APA President looked shocked by Wonhee’s response.

Yejun, on the other hand, looked at Wonhee with a proud smile on her face.

"Miss Chu, I thought you hated power tripping," President Kwon said sarcastically. "Aren’t you being a hypocrite right now? You’re abusing your power as the first S-Class Guide in the world."

"I am not abusing my power," Wonhee said calmly. "I’m merely exercising my birthright as this country’s Crown Princess."

"Yeon Soobin is the country’s Crown Prince."

"Oppa isn’t interested in his title. If I ask him to step down as the Crown Prince to give way to me, Oppa will do it."

"Even if that happens, Korea’s Royal Family is nothing but a symbol in the current world. Our country’s power belongs to the government."

"That’s bound to change if I become the official Crown Princess."

President Kwon’s face darkened.

"Kwon Jiwoong, watch your expression," Yejun said coldly. "I don’t like the way you look at Wonhee."

President Kwon ignored Yejun’s warning and continued confronting Wonhee. "Miss Chu, your grandfather wasn’t a greedy person. He immediately stepped down as the country’s president when he awakened as a Hunter. Your brother was the same. Yeon Soobin only accepted the position as APA’s Vice President because he needed authority over the country’s military power. But Yeon Soobin knows he shouldn’t be meddling with my affairs. However, it seems like the Yeon Blood running in your veins is imperfect. Is it because half of the blood flowing in your veins came from a chaebol family? Chaebols are pretty greedy, after all."

Yejun, who probably felt offended in Wonhee’s stead, was ready to throw hands.

[Or ice daggers, in this case.]

Wonhee grabbed Yejun’s arm while responding to President Kwon. "I’m being greedy because I know I can do so much for this country, President Kwon."

"And APA recognizes that, Miss Chu," President Kwon insisted. "But you already have Hunter Do Ahyeon and the Big 4 as your bodyguards. You don’t need another high-ranking to guard you. The Civilians are just as important to APA— they also deserve to be protected by a Hunter with so much potential."

"I’m not recruiting Lee Seojin for myself, President Kwon."

"Then what do you need him for?"

"I have discovered a new way for Guides to raise the status level of low-ranking Hunters," Wonhee said confidently. "I’m spearheading this project with the current top Guides of Korea. I’ve already talked to them. Actually, I’m also here to offer you a business proposal, President Kwon. It has something to do as to why I want to recruit Lee Seojin."

As expected, the APA President’s eyes twinkled in greed.

"I’d love to hear more about this project of yours, Miss Chu," President Kwon said, smiling this time. "Let’s go to my office."
