CHAPTER 203: MAKING DEALS

WONHEE wanted to check on Lee Seojin.

However, convincing Kwon Jiwoong to do what she wanted without being hostile towards APA was her priority.

[I cannot move freely if APA becomes my enemy.]

"So, what were you saying about this project of yours, Miss Chu?"

President Kwon Jiwoong looked amicable now that they were in his office.

He even served coffee for Wonhee and Yejun.

"I got a new skill that I can share with my fellow Guides, President Kwon," Wonhee lied with a straight face. Everything that would come out of her mouth starting this moment would be half-lie and half-truth. "It’s a new way to provide Guiding for Hunters without physical intimacy. So, even if a Guide and a Hunter don’t have a high matching rate, the Guide could still help the Hunter level up."

"That sounds like an amazing skill," President Kwon praised Wonhee while nodding his head. "But can you be more specific, Miss Chu?"

"I can’t go into specifics yet because I signed a contract with the System," Wonhee said, lying again. Fortunately, she already expected the APA President to be too interested in the "new" skill that she gained. "The System required me to succeed in the first stage of the project before I could share the result with the public."

Of course, she only said the last part to make sure that President Kwon Jiwoong wouldn’t mess up with her plan.

"I wonder why the System is being oddly strict," President Kwon wondered out loud. "Can’t APA be a part of your project, Miss Chu?"

"Park Ruda-ssi is one of the top Guides that the System invited to be a part of the project. I sent an invitation to Ruda-ssi, but he politely declined since Lee Seodam-ssi needs him. But I plan to invite Ruda-ssi again soon."

That seemed to please the APA President, but still not entirely convinced.

"Miss Chu, can’t you at least give me the gist of your new skill?"

Yejun looked pissed, so Wonhee held his hand to calm him down.

Fortunately, Yejun got Wonhee’s silent message...

... but he didn’t let go of her hand.

"Miss Chu?"

"I’m sorry, President Kwon. If I break the rule, the System will take back the ability it granted me," Wonhee lied again. "The System only chose a few people for this project in order to protect our country."

Yejun tilted his head to one side, smiling like a golden retriever. "Wonhee-ya, I’ll protect you."

"I know that, Yejun-ah," Wonhee said, and then she turned to President Kwon again. "But, until Korea gains more power, we should avoid catching UAN’s attention."

"You’re right," President Kwon said while nodding. "UAN only left us alone after sending three World Rankers to us because they realized that Hwang Frost was already back. That proves how important your skill is as a Guide, Miss Chu. UAN didn’t want you as an enemy, so they pinned the blame on the World Rankers instead of taking responsibility. Of course, we left it at that because, as you said, Korea isn’t considered a strong nation yet."

"Yet," she repeated, saying the word that she knew the APA President would like to hear. "If this project succeeds, Korea will become one of the strongest nations in the world, President Kwon. But I have to ask for your patience first. Only a few Awakened People were selected by the System for this project."

Wonhee then pulled out an envelope from her Inventory.

It was the business proposal that she prepared in advance.

She then handed the documents to President Kwon Jiwoong.

"That will explain why I need talented Hunters for the social club I’m planning to build as a guise to cover up the project that we’re doing behind closed doors," Wonhee said in a serious tone. "Since I’ll be gathering all the big shots on the list, I believe I need Hunters like Lee Seojin to be a part of our club’s security detail."

President Kwon scanned the documents before he raised his head— his face beaming. "APA will cooperate with you for this big project, Miss Chu."

"TWO HUNDRED billion won?" Hamin asked indifferently. "You must be crazy, Chairman Seon."

The Chairman Seon he was talking to was the

Chairman Seon Chul of the SC Group.

On the other hand, the SC Group was the parent company of SC Foods— the one that had been supporting the Fall Guild all this time.

"Watch how you talk to my father, Hamin-ssi," Seon Chanwoo, the president of SC Foods, said in a sharp voice. "And why are you worried about the price that we set? Chu Wonhee is the youngest member of the One Trillion Won Club in Korea— she can afford it."

"That doesn’t mean you get to take advantage of her," Hamin said indifferently. "Chu Wonhee isn’t the type of person you can deceive anyway. Moreover, she has Hwang Yejun by her side. Are you sure you want to mess with the person who holds the leash around that crazy bastard?"

Both Chairman Seon and President Seon weren’t able to respond.

[Of course, they are afraid of Hwang Yejun.]

"Come to think of it, Chu Wonhee is my younger brother’s sister-in-law," Chairman Seon said while touching his chin, changing the topic swiftly. "Hamin-ssi, I want you to set me an appointment with Chu Wonhee. Maybe we should talk face-to-face since we’re technically family."

"I’ll come with you, Abeoji," Seon Chanwoo said, giving Hamin a sharp glare. "Schedule it as soon as possible since we’re busy people, Hamin-ssi."

To be honest, Hamin hated the way Seon Chanwoo treated him.

However, he couldn’t really get mad at him.
