CHAPTER 240: INSEPARABLE

"EOMMAAA!"

Semi panicked a little when she heard Eunseok cry.

Her son was in his bedroom on another floor, but she still heard him because of her sharp hearing.

She immediately teleported to Eunseok’s room.

[I’m glad my husband is already back in his office or else he would have panicked more than I did.]

Chang-ho went to his office to make a call to Guildmaster Hamin.

"Eunseok-ah, what happened..."

Semi trailed off when she saw the toddler Hwang Yejun standing on the bed while pointing a short ice sword at Eunseok who was sitting on the floor.

[Yejun can use his power even though his memories are a mess?]

"Hyung, why are you crying for your mom when you’re bigger than me?" Hwang Yejun asked, obviously mocking Eunseok. "You should fight me like a man. I’ll make you pay for making my angel cry!"

"I didn’t make Aunt Hee-ya cry!" Eunseok said defensively. "And you’re Hwang Frost, aren’t you? That face and ice ability could only belong to the Ice Demon! How could a mere Civilian like me fight the strongest Hunter in Korea?!"

Semi was impressed that Eunseok immediately recognized Hwang Yejun in his child form.

[My son must be a genius.]

"You’re not a Civilian."

Hmm?

Semi was shocked by what the little Hwang Yejun said.

But Eunseok also looked like he didn’t know what the "child" was saying.

"I’m a Civilian," Eunseok insisted, confused. "What are you talking about?"

"You’re not," the little Hwang Yejun insisted. "Civilians don’t have Status Windows."

Eunseok looked like he was too stunned to react.

But not Semi.

"Hwang Yejun, what do you mean by that?" Semi asked nervously. "My son has a Status Window?"

Although Hwang Yejun was in that state, she couldn’t dismiss his words. After all, Hwang Yejun was known for two things aside from his combat abilities: first, his ability to sense Cracks with just a change in the air.

Second, he had the ability to see other people’s Status Windows.

"Hwang Yejun, do you see a Status Window in my son?"

"The Status Window is still inactive," the little Hwang Yejun said when he turned to Semi. "But it’s not a natural Status Window."

"What do you mean by that?"

"It’s a Status Window caused by Forced Awakening."

Forced Awakening?!

Semi looked at Eunseok in disbelief. "Seon Eunseok, did you take some Forced Awakening drugs?"

"I did not," Eunseok said firmly while shaking his head. "Eomma, you know it was never my dream to be an Awakened Person. I’m going to inherit the company and beat Aunt Hee-ya’s record as the youngest person to be a member of the One Trillion Club!"

Eunseok never once envied Semi for being an Awakened Person.

"I believe you, son," Semi said, and then she turned to Hwang Yejun. "Hey, can you tell me..."

She trailed off when she saw the Baby Wonhee standing in front of the little Hwang Yejun protectively.

Her baby sister’s eyes were puffy.

That made her temporarily forget about the issue with her son.

[It seems like I need to talk to Hwang Yejun once he’s back to normal anyway. He has seen my son before. But this is the first time that he mentioned seeing a Status Window in Eunseok.]

"Unnie, where are Eomma and Appa?" the Baby Wonhee asked in a tearful voice with a tearful face. "Hee-ya wants to see Eomma and Appa!"

"Angel, don’t cry," the little Hwang Yejun said, comforting Baby Wonhee. "And why are you looking for your eomma and appa when I’m here? I’ll take care of you!"

"Hee-ya, Appa and your Eomma went on a trip," Semi said, lying with a sad smile on her face. She didn’t have the heart to tell her baby sister the truth. "But your unnie is here. Do you not want to play with unnie, hmm?"

Thankfully, Baby Wonhee extended her arms as if she wanted Semi to carry her. "Unnie, Hee-ya had a bad dream."

Semi immediately carried her baby sister in her arms. "Aww. What did our Hee-ya dream about?"

"A big star talked to me and Eomma and Appa!"

"Huh?"

"The big star said it’s going to take Hee-ya’s Eomma and Appa because the big star needs them to increase Hee-ya’s luck."

Oh.

Damn.

Semi felt a shiver down her spine after hearing what Wonhee said.

[Is this the reason why the System turned Hee-ya into a child?]

HWANG YEBIN, Yejun’s mother, let out a sigh of relief after talking to Jang Semi on the phone.

When her son disappeared earlier, she knew that her son would be where Chu Wonhee was. Hence, she called Jang Semi to ask if Yejun was there. Thankfully, her hunch was right and her son didn’t go anywhere else.

"What did Semi-ssi say, yeobo1?" her husband, Hwang Junsang, asked worriedly. "Is our Yejunnie with them?"

"Yes, Yejun is there. Apparently, our son just appeared next to Wony," Yebin said, gently rubbing her husband’s back. "Semi-ssi said the children are already sleeping, so let’s just pick up our son tomorrow morning."

"Alright, let’s do that," her husband said, and then he gently smoothed the lines on her forehead. "What’s wrong, yeobo? You look worried. Yejunnie is safe, isn’t he?"

"I was just thinking about what our son said earlier."

"About the big star that he and Wony apparently saw before? Our son must have been imagining it."

"Yeobo, our son was never creative."

"But our son is very delusional when it comes to Wony."

She couldn’t help but laugh at what her husband said.

[I’m sorry, son— I can’t defend you since your father was right.]

"Don’t worry too much, yeobo," Junsang consoled her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Let’s talk to our son about it once he returns to normal."

Yebin smiled and nodded. "Yes, let’s do that, yeobo."

"ALRIGHT, NOONA," Soobin said after his long phone conversation with Semi. "I’ll go to your house tomorrow morning."

After saying a few more things, he ended the call.

"What’s wrong?" Shin Geon, his husband who just finished his shower, asked. "You’re going to Semi Noona’s house tomorrow?"

Soobin was glad that his husband only heard the last part of the conversation.

[I can’t tell Geon about Hee-ya’s birth origin because it’s a secret that only Semi Noona and I know for now.]

But there was something else that he could share with his husband.

"Geon, I need you to come with me tomorrow," Soobin said, sighing. "Apparently, Hwang Yejun said that Seon Eunseok has a Status Window."

"Eunseok is about to awaken?"

"It was Forced Awakening according to Hwang Yejun."

Geon’s eyes widened in shock. "Your nephew’s dream is to be a trillionaire and not an Awakened Person. I don’t believe Eunseok would take Forced Awakening drugs— especially not after what happened to Hee-ya before."

"That’s what Noona and I thought, too," Soobin said, his jaw clenched hard. "There must be a new type of Forced Awakening drugs out there that we don’t know about yet."

Yool pretended to fall asleep to avoid his former group members all day.

[I wasn’t ready to face them yet.]

But, at night, when he finally thought he finally had the time to gather his thoughts in the safety of his private room...

"Ahjussi, how did you get here?"

Yep.

The well-dressed handsome and tall man standing in front of her was none other than Song Moonho.

"Ong Yool-ssi?"

Oh.

[He called me by my real name.]

Well, real last name, to be precise.

"The thirty-three-year-old Ong Yool looks better than expected," Song Moonho teased Yool, and then he extended his hand to him. "I’m Song Moonho. It’s nice to meet you in your real body, babe."

It was annoying how Song Moonho could act like nothing happened.

But he had no choice but to rely on the old man now in that world.

[I have so many questions for him, anyway.]

Yool grabbed Song Moonho’s hand begrudgingly. "Ong Yool isn’t your ’babe.’"

Song Moonho just laughed his expensive laugh, and then he kissed the back of Yool’s hand.
