"Eomma, Abeoji," Yejun greeted his parents gloomily. "I’m back."

"Wonhee is with Soobin Hyung, Abeoji," Yejun said, sighing. "She doesn’t remember me. Her memories haven’t completely returned yet."

His parents looked shocked, as expected.

"I wish I could explain, but even I don’t know what’s happening," Yejun said, frustrated. "Eomma, Abeoji, I’ll just go to my room in the meantime. I need to talk to the System. But if something important comes up, don’t hesitate to call me— especially if it’s related to Wonhee."

His mother and father nodded.

It looked like his parents wanted to console him, but he knew no words could console him at the moment.

Hence, he quickly went to his bedroom to avoid an awkward moment with his parents.

"System, what the fuck is happening?" Yejun asked angrily. "Why didn’t Wonhee recover her complete memories? Why do her memories have to return to the time that she was still dating the fake carnivore? Are you trying to screw me over?"

He wasn’t looking at his reflection.

Yejun was about to snap because of the System’s silence when, suddenly, the talking orange appeared in his tangerine form.

"Hunter Hwang Yejun, it seems like Guide Chu Wonhee’s Status Window was infected by a weak virus."

"If it was a weak virus, why couldn’t the System get rid of it?"

"Because it was so weak that the System barely noticed it," the talking orange insisted. "The virus isn’t corrupting Guide Chu Wonhee’s Status Window like it did to you. But the virus is blocking the System’s chains of command."

"How the fuck did our Status Windows get corrupted in the first place?"

"We are ashamed to admit this, but we really don’t know how this keeps happening," the talking orange said remorsefully. "The virus that affected your Status Window was unnoticeable until it was too late."

Yejun bit his tongue because he didn’t want to say anything to the System that he might regret later.

"Check the Big 4’s Status Windows, and do the same to everyone listed as heroes in the previous world," Yejun said, his brain already going into overdrive. "If I was the Virus, I would start messing up with the Status Windows of the people who killed me in the past."

"No, I’m not being emotional," Yejun said in a serious tone. "Lee Seodam is the host of the Virus. Even if he’s currently locked up and he isn’t showing signs of getting possessed, that doesn’t mean he’s clean or safe."

"Both Wonhee and I faced the Virus while it was possessing Lee Seodam," Yejun continued with his theory. "Maybe that was when the Virus somehow transferred the weak virus to us."

"But if we kill Lee Seodam, you’ll be doing the Virus a favor. Didn’t the Virus try to convince you to kill him because it wants to use a different Host?"

That was true.

It was obvious that the Virus would benefit if they killed Lee Seodam now.

"All I need to do is catch the Virus after it leaves Lee Seodam’s body," Yejun said sternly while clenching his hands tight. "So, let me—"

He stopped talking when he felt a strange aura enveloping the entire building.

She listened carefully to what Soobin had said.
