CHAPTER 137: CHAPTER 137: BEATING UP LYNN KENDALL

Julian Yardley looked at the woman in front of him, smirking as he scrutinized Lynn Kendall: "Are you the designer with the last name Kong?"

Lynn Kendall thought the young man in front might be interested in her, so she deliberately straightened her chest, nodded, and smiled as she reported her full name: "Lynn Kendall."

Unexpectedly, a heavy fist landed on her face.

Julian Yardley moved so quickly that the nearby receptionist didn’t even have time to react.

He then grabbed Lynn Kendall by the collar and threw another punch, displacing her fake nose and leaving blood dripping from her nostrils.

The shop’s staff and customers were terrified, all backing away, unsure of what was happening, with no one daring to intervene.

Julian Yardley grabbed her hair, thinking of the slap mark on Sheila Yardley’s face, he struck again with precision and force in the same spot without holding back.

"I don’t usually hit women, but I’ve realized you’re not even human!"

Upstairs, the "Gossip Department Head" Yara Hughes rushed up to deliver the news: "Something bad happened! There’s a fight downstairs!"

This shout brought everyone out to watch the commotion.

Shannon Quinn didn’t know what was happening, put down her pen, and got up to ask: "What happened?"

"I don’t know. I was just on the phone downstairs when a guy rushed in asking who the designer Kong was, then just started beating on Lynn Kendall. It was scary, but also satisfying to watch!"

"This person has done so many bad things, karma caught up to them."

With someone causing trouble in the shop, regardless of the reason, Shannon Quinn couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.

With Aidan Lockwood not in the shop that afternoon, if she didn’t go down, no one would handle the situation.

Originally, she thought it was probably one of Lynn Kendall’s many boyfriends, who found out about her affairs and came in a rage to beat her.

But when she went downstairs and saw the person doing the hitting was Julian Yardley, she realized something was off.

She quickened her steps, coming forward to stop it: "Stop it! Stop!"

Seeing Shannon Quinn stepping in to break up the fight, two male customers nearby seemed to come to their senses and went up to help pull Julian Yardley away.

By this time, Lynn Kendall was in a sorry state, her heavily made-up face covered in blood, clutching her crooked nose, not even having the strength to curse.

Though Shannon Quinn didn’t like Lynn Kendall, any incident in this situation wouldn’t be good for anyone.

"Call an ambulance quickly."

The receptionist finally came to her senses and hurriedly dialed 120.

Julian Yardley still unsatisfied said: "It’s mercy I didn’t beat you to death. If you dare to mess around next time, I’ll chop your hands off!"

"Enough!" Shannon Quinn shouted angrily.

She knew Julian Yardley was definitely avenging Sheila Yardley, but his approach was too rash.

The police car arrived before the ambulance, she didn’t know who on-site called the police.

Shannon Quinn only knew this matter wouldn’t be easy to resolve.

Lynn Kendall had broad social connections, among the people she knew, there were many with status and power.

She holds grudges, and if she refused to settle privately, even if she didn’t have someone pull strings, Julian Yardley would probably face punishment.

Fines were a minor issue; if Lynn Kendall’s injuries were serious, or she deliberately made the situation worse, Julian Yardley might not escape a prison sentence.

Shannon Quinn didn’t dare think about the consequences of this, instead following the ambulance to the hospital first.

When Aidan Lockwood arrived at the hospital, Shannon Quinn briefly explained what had happened and Lynn Kendall’s current situation to him, then drove to the police station.

The police station was quite lively, it seemed another group was there for an investigation.

They were all young guys, probably hoodlums from society, seemingly involved in a fight, each with a bruised face, appearing to argue over something.

Shannon Quinn bent down to weave through the crowd, spotting a familiar face emerging from an office in front of her.

The young policeman seemed to be the one who dealt with the incident involving Landon Sutton and Jett Quinn last time.

"Officer, hello, I’d like to ask about Julian Yardley’s current situation?"

Vincent Irving put on his police cap while adjusting his uniform, glancing at Shannon Quinn.

He seemed to be going out to handle the group outside but didn’t show impatience towards Shannon Quinn, pointing behind him with a courteous smile and saying: "Over there."

"Thank you."

"Wait a moment..." Vincent Irving called her back, asking, "Haven’t we met before?"

Shannon Quinn thought for a moment; during that incident, she had stayed in the car, and Simon Rhodes had taken her away when the police arrived, so she hadn’t interacted with them directly, but it might have been in another setting or a fashion magazine, she simply answered, "Perhaps."

"Captain Irving, Mr. Grant is waiting for you."

Vincent Irving nodded and walked quickly towards the front.

Sheila Yardley hadn’t even finished a class when she heard Julian Yardley was in trouble, and hurriedly took a taxi to the police station.

Looking at the scattered people standing and sitting in the lobby, Sheila Yardley searched through unfamiliar faces for Julian Yardley.

"Elaine." Shannon Quinn called to her from not far away, and Sheila Yardley hurried over, "Shannon, where’s my brother?"

Shannon Quinn pointed with her chin to a room diagonally across, "Taking a statement."

"What happened? Is it serious?"

Shannon Quinn didn’t hide the truth, saying: "He probably wanted to stand up for you, went to the studio and beat Lynn Kendall. Lynn Kendall’s still in the hospital; we’re not sure about her exact condition yet."

Sheila Yardley said regretfully: "I should’ve stopped him then, will he... go to jail?"

Shannon Quinn knew all too well that if Julian Yardley went to jail, it would be a huge blow to a family that was already unstable.

Catherine Yardley’s medical bills were a significant expense, and with Sheila Yardley still in school, even if she could earn some money now, without Julian Yardley, her studies might not continue smoothly.

But Shannon Quinn couldn’t provide Sheila Yardley with any reassurance, truthfully saying: "Hard to say. If Lynn Kendall agrees to settle privately, it shouldn’t be a big issue, but you know Lynn Kendall’s personality, she likely won’t kindly choose reconciliation."

Sheila Yardley listened, her eyes reddening even more, looking lost and uncertain.

"Don’t worry, we’ll handle this." A door nearby opened from the inside, and two men walked out one after the other.

One was Vincent Irving, and the other was Caleb Grant.

Caleb Grant noticed Sheila Yardley standing not far away and seemed to remember her. Sheila Yardley recognized him as well, but neither initiated a greeting.

Caleb Grant looked away, continued speaking with Vincent Irving: "I didn’t manage my subordinates well, causing trouble for you."
