CHAPTER 14: CHAPTER 14: IS THERE A MAN PURSUING YOU?

"Just woke up, you’re back in the country?"

"Yeah, just got off the plane. Can you notify everyone and prepare for an early meeting in the morning?"

"Alright. You’re working hard as soon as you return? Not going to adjust for jet lag?"

"Slept on the plane. I’ll go get my luggage and we’ll talk later."

Aidan Lockwood is like a life mentor to her, perhaps even half a soulmate.

She was initially a student at the Art Academy, studying fine arts. She met him at an art exhibition when he asked her if she was interested in fashion design.

At that time, she was quite short on money. Unknown artists have a hard time making a name for themselves, and their paintings sell for very little. That’s how she ended up on the fashion design path with him.

Besides having some painting skills, Aidan Lockwood practically taught her everything else step by step.

He’s also a university professor, which makes him quite patient in teaching. Learning from him doesn’t feel pressured; he seems more like a sincere friend.

She’s considered his prized student, so he holds her in high regard, causing others in the studio to joke that she and Aidan Lockwood have something going on. But it’s all in good fun, as he’s rumored to have a girlfriend abroad.

Shannon got ready early and arrived at the studio, glancing automatically at the waiting area upon entering, which was empty.

It seems everyone knows Aidan Lockwood is returning, and they’re talking about it.

Shannon announced the early meeting upon her arrival, and the gossiping crowd dispersed to prepare.

Around nine, the door to Shannon’s office was pushed open, and she looked up to see Aidan Lockwood walk in.

Shannon smiled at him, "You’re here so soon?"

"Yeah, how’s the preparation going?"

"Almost done," Shannon said, rising to pour him a glass of water. He sat opposite her desk, casually browsing through her discarded sketches.

Originally, Shannon thought he was going to critique her work, but he unexpectedly said, "I heard from Yara that there’s a man pursuing you?"

"Don’t listen to her nonsense, it’s just a client who specifically requested me to design something."

"I almost thought that I went abroad for a few days, and you got yourself married. I rushed to buy a ticket, worried I’d miss the chance to toast at your wedding."

"Professor Lockwood, you’ve learned how to joke around? I think we should ditch fashion design and become gossip detectives instead."

Aidan chuckled, took a sip from the water she poured, and then stood up saying, "Let’s call everyone to the meeting room."

Shannon was practically Aidan Lockwood’s half-assistant, and during the early meeting, she was on stage explaining things to everyone, when her phone on the lectern suddenly vibrated.

Without looking at the caller, she immediately hung up.

Before she could finish a sentence, the phone rang again.

Aidan then said, "Answer it, I’ll take over."

This time, Shannon directly turned off her phone, smiled apologetically, and said, "Sorry, let’s continue. This theme focuses on the color red, which can be interpreted from multiple angles..."

The early meeting lasted two hours, and before she could take a breath, as soon as she exited the meeting room, Yara approached saying, "Shannon, there’s a lady downstairs looking for you, seems like she’s someone you know, been waiting for a while."

"Someone I know?"

"Yeah, seems like her last name is Yardley, she said you know her."

June Yardley? The only female she knows with the last name Yardley.

But why would June Yardley be looking for her? She hasn’t even settled things with her yet.

Shannon went downstairs and saw June Yardley sitting on the sofa in the corner, flipping through a fashion magazine.

"Ms. Yardley? I heard you’re looking for me?" Shannon walked forward with a polite smile and sat on the sofa opposite June Yardley.

June Yardley put down the magazine in her hand, looked Shannon up and down, her gaze and tone somewhat disdainful, "You work in a place like this?"

"Ms. Yardley, feel free to speak your mind. I doubt you’re here for a casual chat."

"Okay, I won’t beat around the bush," she said, picking up her branded bag and taking out several developed photos before handing them to Shannon, "Take a look."

Shannon took the photos calmly and looked through them. They were pictures of her having dinner at a restaurant with Landon Sutton yesterday.
