My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 20: He Is My Man
CHAPTER 20: CHAPTER 20: HE IS MY MAN
"Are you really Landon Sutton’s girlfriend?" She walked in and asked Shannon Quinn directly.
Shannon Quinn didn’t want to have any ties with Landon Sutton, and didn’t want to get into trouble, no matter who this woman was. So she shook her head and said, "You’ve misunderstood. I don’t know him at all; we just met for the first time."
"I knew he just picked a random woman to brush me off." The woman said, giving Shannon Quinn a disdainful once-over, muttering, "I still wonder how he could be interested in a woman like this."
Shannon Quinn’s smile froze on her face, barely holding back her temper.
"Alright, this has nothing to do with you, but I’ll warn you anyway, I don’t care if you knew Landon Sutton before, stay away from him in the future, he’s my man!"
Shannon Quinn just smiled faintly and said nothing. Hearing the name "Claire Yardley," she suddenly remembered something; it turned out this was June Yardley’s sister.
No wonder she had the same demeanor as June Yardley.
Suddenly, she felt that Landon Sutton’s attitude towards Claire Yardley at the bathroom door earlier was quite satisfying.
Claire Yardley turned and walked out of the room, taking out her phone to call someone, saying as she left, "Why is it so hard for you to find someone? If you don’t give me Landon Sutton’s address tonight, you’ll be out of a job tomorrow!"
Yara Hughes watched Claire Yardley’s departing figure, grumbling, "What’s with that attitude? Looking like that and she still wants to chase Landon Sutton? Dressed like a flamingo."
"Alright, let’s clean up quickly."
"Shannon, I’m not trying to talk too much, I just care about your future. Just look at how sought-after Landon Sutton is. If you keep hesitating, and he gets taken by another woman, you’ll regret it later."
"That would be fine by me."
"Hmph, I’m still hoping you’d latch onto someone successful and let us benefit. How come you won’t fight for it? Are you waiting for a diamond mine?"
Shannon Quinn didn’t continue this topic with Yara Hughes; she’s always avoided matters of the heart.
Truthfully, she hasn’t had much relationship experience.
She had a brief fling in high school, but looking back, it wasn’t worth remembering as he was a jerk.
Her circle is very simple, with no social activities. Besides work, she spends most of her time at home.
Even when she goes out, it’s with a few female friends. She doesn’t seem to yearn for love much.
After a busy day, she returned home, filled the bathtub with water, and sank her exhausted body into it, feeling instantly relaxed.
Closing her eyes and resting against the tub, she emptied her mind, wanting to think of nothing.
Yet, her mind betrayed her by conjuring up images from that night.
She abruptly opened her eyes, scooped water with her hands, and splashed it on her face multiple times, clearing her thoughts significantly.
She quickly took a shower, wrapped herself in a towel, poured a glass of milk to heat in the microwave, then sat on the sofa, flipping through TV channels with the remote.
Aidan Lockwood had given her two days off, but to her, it didn’t make much difference whether she was working or not.
Even during her time off, her mind was occupied with design ideas, with paper and pen readily available to jot them down at any moment.
Without warning, all the lights in the room suddenly went out, and the TV screen turned black.
She recalled that night when Vincent Rhodes appeared, the electricity also suddenly went out. She immediately realized something.
The next second, she heard a noise from the doorway, she tensed up on the sofa, and soon saw a shadow in a wheelchair sliding into the room.
