CHAPTER 246: CHAPTER 246: HAVE A DAUGHTER

Shannon Quinn sat up from the bed and looked at him displeased, saying, "If you hadn’t been playing tricks, would I be looking for you? By the way, we haven’t checked out the room yet, have we? I’m moving back now!"

"Checked out this morning."

"Then go book another room."

"That’s a waste of money. Besides, this inn is quite busy, all rooms are booked in advance. You don’t have a choice now."

"You’re a schemer!"

Landon Sutton neatly placed the folded clothes into the suitcase next to him before looking at her and saying, "What’s wrong with sharing a bed with me? I’m the one losing out here, clearly!"

"How are you losing out? Don’t act like you’re being taken advantage of!"

"You toss and turn in bed, like you’re practicing boxing in your dreams. If I weren’t skilled, I’d probably end up on the floor by morning."

Shannon Quinn frowned and denied it, "You’re talking nonsense. I don’t move around when I sleep!"

"A person who snores never knows they snore."

Shannon Quinn said defiantly, "Then go sleep downstairs with Lewis! I find you annoying!"

"Alright, take a nap quickly, and when you wake up, I’ll take you to the hot spring."

Shannon Quinn sat on the bed watching him walk over to the desk and open his computer.

When she played, he’d accompany her, but when she rested, he couldn’t rest. He never complained, but Shannon Quinn could see it.

"Aren’t you tired?"

Landon Sutton looked back at her and reassured, "I have some matters to handle, it’ll be quick. You sleep first."

"You have a lot to deal with, don’t you?"

"No, just a couple of documents to review. Or is it... you can’t sleep without me?"

Shannon Quinn pouted, turned around, fell onto the bed, and pulled up the quilt to cover herself, answering him with her actions.

Landon Sutton smiled at her, then turned back to open his computer.

Shannon Quinn didn’t sleep; instead, she took out her phone to check the responses to her recent social media post.

She had posted a scenery photo from the mountaintop and one taken by Landon Sutton.

Most people seemed curious about who took the photo of her, speculating whether she had found a partner.

Someone jokingly said: "Looks like a boyfriend’s perspective, Shannon is definitely in love."

Seeing these comments, although Shannon Quinn didn’t reply, her heart felt sweet.

The room was quiet. He didn’t mind why she was still playing with her phone, and she didn’t disturb his work.

It took Landon Sutton over an hour to finish dealing with the documents. When he turned to look at the woman on the bed, she was already asleep.

The phone was by her pillow, presumably she fell asleep while using it.

He gently went over, took her phone away, then removed his jacket and quietly lay down on the side she left open.

She opened her eyes to glance at him with heavy sleep, said nothing, just turned over to lie on her back, and closed her eyes again.

Landon Sutton didn’t disturb her, lying quietly and closing his eyes intending to rest.

After a while, as he was about to fall asleep, he suddenly heard a rustling sound near his ear, followed by someone wrapping him with their arms and legs.

He glanced down at the woman who leaned in, unsure if she was awake or unconsciously moving closer. He just reached out to pull her into his arms and closed his eyes again.

The afternoon sun was soft, gently flowing through the glass onto the floor, and the breeze through the half-open window played with the curtain slightly.

Shannon Quinn was awakened by the ringing of the phone, or to be precise, it woke Landon Sutton, who then woke her: "Mom’s calling."

She sat up, yawned, accepted the phone Landon Sutton handed over, and answered, "Mom, what’s up?"

"Were you sleeping?"

"Just woke up."

"Aren’t you guys out playing? It’s already past five, why are you still sleeping?"

"We went out in the morning and rested in the room for a bit this afternoon."

Then Catherine Yardley’s next words informed Shannon Quinn that her mom’s call wasn’t out of concern for how much fun she was having.

Catherine Yardley asked with a laugh, "Did you book one room or two?"

"Mom! If you have nothing else to say, I’m hanging up!"

"Still shy, I just wanted to remind you to seize this rare opportunity. Leo has always envied Jade for having a sibling."

Shannon Quinn rolled her eyes helplessly and changed the subject, "Where’s Leo? Does he miss me?"

"He hasn’t mentioned missing you, often asks about his dad instead."

"You ungrateful child, put him on the phone."

Catherine Yardley said to Leo beside her, "Leo, your mom wants to talk to you."

Leo came over, grabbed the phone, and the first thing he said was, "Mom, where’s Dad?"

"All you want is your dad? Then I won’t come back. You can stay with him from now on."

"Will Dad find me a new mom?"

Shannon Quinn was so frustrated that she tossed the phone to Landon Sutton.

She listened to the father and son chat aimlessly for over ten minutes before hanging up.

"Be honest, how much have you secretly paid Leo?"

Landon Sutton handed her phone back, raising an eyebrow and saying, "Pay what?"

"The money to bribe Leo! Otherwise, why does he like you so much?"

"Maybe the kid has good taste, sees that I’m handsome and capable. It’s normal for excellent people to like hanging out with other excellent people."

Shannon Quinn noticed the disguised insult, feeling dissatisfied that her four years of effort couldn’t compare to this man who appeared a few months ago.

Is it perhaps that men have more in common with each other? If she had a daughter, maybe the daughter would prefer her.

Realizing this dangerous thought, Shannon Quinn sneakily glanced at Landon Sutton.

It’s all mom’s fault, mentioning daughters earlier.

"Pack up, let’s go downstairs to eat something, have a walk, then head to the hot spring."

Although they didn’t go to the beach, Shannon Quinn’s carefully prepared swimsuit was finally put to use.

After eating, they strolled to the hot spring. Passing by a public hot spring pool, Shannon Quinn saw the girl who had approached Landon Sutton in the morning.

The girl also saw them and walked directly over, ignoring Shannon, and said to Landon Sutton, "What a coincidence, handsome, we meet again."

The girl had a great figure, wearing a one-piece swimsuit, her long legs fully exposed.

If it were someone else, Shannon Quinn might have admired the figure, but for this girl, she could only think of one word: bold!

Though Shannon wasn’t as tall as the girl, her figure was quite good, with a fair complexion and a more modest polka-dot slip dress swimsuit, appearing both cute and sexy.

"Hello again, miss, such fate to meet you again." Shannon said as she held onto Landon Sutton’s arm, marking her territory with politeness and grace.

Even though she knew the girl was younger, she intentionally called her "miss."
