My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 250: I Think You’re Really Handsome
CHAPTER 250: CHAPTER 250: I THINK YOU’RE REALLY HANDSOME
Everyone stopped fighting; it was too late to run now, the police had already arrived.
"What happened here? Who called the police?"
"I... I called the police, this group came to the store to make trouble."
The police officer glanced at the scene in front of him and said, "A brawl, huh? You few, and you, stand still, don’t move!"
Another young officer stepped forward and picked up the military knife from the ground, handing it to the leading officer: "Whose is this?"
The officer’s gaze swept across the crowd, and then he saw Landon Sutton, changing his previously serious demeanor, he walked over with a smile: "Master Nate? What are you doing here?"
Landon Sutton smiled lightly: "Retired, nothing to do, just exercising a bit."
"Oh, these people are causing trouble with you?" He then turned and said to the group of young people: "Unbelievable!"
"Come over here, take them all back and make a record, really thinking you own the place?"
The tattooed man was still indignant, pointing at Landon Sutton saying, "He started it first!"
"If you hadn’t provoked him, would he have attacked without reason? When he was on the battlefield, you hadn’t even been born yet. Stir trouble and you didn’t choose the right person, be grateful you can still stand and talk, all thanks to Master Nate showing you mercy! Take them away!"
The group of men and women was taken away by the police, and the curious onlookers at the entrance who did not understand the situation thought it was a prostitution bust.
"Are you okay?!" Shannon Quinn rushed over to look Landon Sutton over, worriedly asking.
Landon Sutton smiled: "I’m fine, what about you?"
Shannon Quinn shook her head, clearly frightened.
Landon Sutton negotiated with the officers for a few minutes and also discussed the compensation issue with the store’s responsible person.
It seemed like all the business people here knew Landon Sutton and treated him with great respect, not only not demanding compensation but even asking if he needed to go to the hospital.
They likely knew that the person responsible for investing in the development of this area was Landon Sutton.
He reached for the items he bought earlier, held Shannon Quinn’s hand, and returned upstairs.
Shannon Quinn was still a bit shaken, apologizing as she went upstairs: "I promise not to speak recklessly again."
Landon Sutton glanced at her without a hint of blame: "It’s not your fault, besides, nothing happened."
"But there were several times you were almost stabbed by those knives! What if you hadn’t dodged it?"
Landon Sutton ruffled her hair, smiling: "I worried you, but you forget what I used to do; our regular training was more exciting than this."
"No matter how skilled you are, there were so many of them, what if something had happened?"
"Okay, I’ll bring more people with me in the future."
"That’s not what I mean! I mean sometimes it’s not necessary to fight."
"Alright, no more fighting in the future."
Landon Sutton understood her lingering fear; after pushing open the door and turning on the lights, he placed the food he bought for her on the table, then reached over to grab her arm, rolling up the sleeve of her jacket, asking: "Does it hurt?"
Shannon Quinn shook her head: "It hurt when I was grabbed, but not now, what about you?"
"I’m fine, didn’t even lay a hand on me."
Shannon Quinn took a deep breath; Landon Sutton led her to sit beside the table, saying: "Eat quickly, then get some sleep."
Shannon Quinn picked up the bun she had just taken a bite of earlier, absentmindedly taking another bite, seemingly still thinking about what had just happened; recalling how close those knives came to him, her heart was filled with fear.
But remembering Landon Sutton facing those people alone, his skill was indeed impressive.
It was her first time seeing him fight; he had always seemed like a refined and gentle rogue before.
After her initial fear, her admiration for him grew by a few degrees.
"Why are you smiling foolishly?"
Shannon Quinn snapped back to reality, shoved the remaining third of the walnut bun into her mouth; after swallowing it, she said: "I think you are really handsome."
Landon Sutton chuckled, tidying up the mess she left while saying: "Only realizing that now?"
Shannon Quinn did not hide her infatuation, smiling at him: "Teach me some wolf-defense moves when we have time?"
"To deal with me?"
"No way! I’m saying in case something like this happens again when you’re not around, I can handle it."
"I won’t be absent, and besides, no creep would have such bad taste."
"What do you mean, Landon Sutton?!"
He seemed to enjoy teasing her, and Shannon Quinn was used to it.
No matter how he teased her, she was what filled his heart.
The next day, Shannon Quinn slept until she naturally woke and after having lunch at the inn leisurely set off for the next place.
When Shannon Quinn went out, she thought she finally could leave the child behind to have fun for a while before returning, but after just two days, she started to miss the child.
Leo was thinking about them too, or more accurately about Landon Sutton, as he called Shannon Quinn each night but the chat was with Landon Sutton, and the father and son could talk for quite some time.
Over the next few days, Landon Sutton took her to the seaside; it felt less like tourism and more like living by the sea.
Staying in a sea-view villa, Shannon Quinn once again marveled at the luxurious lifestyle of the wealthy.
She found hotels costing hundreds of dollars expensive to stay in for a few nights while Landon Sutton rented a villa for them.
Putting aside the money, Shannon Quinn loved the feeling of living by the sea, listening to the sound of the waves while sitting by the window, watching the ebb and flow, the setting sun and rising moon, she felt this was truly living.
Having bought painting supplies on the way, Shannon Quinn often sat on the villa’s open-air balcony, painting the scenery in front of her.
Silently she portrayed vibrant landscapes on paper with colors, while he sat nearby handling his own matters.
After dinner in the evening, they would put their work aside to take a moment on the beach together.
"Landon Sutton, let’s have some wine."
Hearing her suggestion, Landon Sutton raised his eyebrows in surprise, without questioning he just stood up and said: "Wait here for me."
Shannon Quinn nodded, sitting on the beach watching as he slowly walked back to the villa, returning shortly with a bottle of wine and two glasses.
The sea breeze gently moved his short hair, dressed in a white t-shirt and light-colored jeans, looking much more youthful and mild compared to his usual formal appearance.
She chose these clothes for him, wanting to see him change his usual style a bit; it seemed that his charisma was innate, as even in this common pairing, he drew one’s gaze completely.
"Blown silly by the wind? Smiling foolishly again."
Shannon Quinn sat cross-legged, reached out to take the glass from his hand, and said: "I can only drink a little."
"I’ll only let you drink a little." He picked up the wine bottle, pouring about a quarter of the glass’s height into her cup.
Shannon Quinn immediately frowned: "That’s too little, not even enough to quench my thirst!
