CHAPTER 269: CHAPTER 269: INTERFERING IN THE SECOND YOUNG MASTER’S MARRIAGE

Shannon Quinn knew it wasn’t just a simple entertainment media gossip, because both Landon Sutton and the Rhodes Family were figures most media wouldn’t dare to report about.

There must have been someone pulling strings, deliberately trying to stir things up.

And the people she could think of were the Yardley sisters, or perhaps Lynn Kendall, who was now struggling at the bottom of the design scene.

But given Lynn Kendall’s current status, she probably has the intention to do such things but lacks the ability.

It seemed more likely to be June Yardley’s doing, especially since she now had Seth Fairchild backing her.

Although June Yardley no longer harbored hopes of marrying into the Rhodes Family, she wouldn’t easily let go of the grudge over the Yardley Family’s downfall, given her character.

Shannon Quinn didn’t go to the office because Aidan Lockwood called saying there were reporters all over the entrance, and he hadn’t responded to anything yet.

More than ten minutes ago, Landon Sutton also called to inquire about her current situation, advising her not to leave the house, and informed her that he had arranged for someone to pick up their child.

Compared to the exposure of news and malicious slanders from years ago, where her identity wasn’t revealed and only insiders knew about these matters, this time they were detailed with full names digging out her information completely.

Strangely enough, she didn’t feel as nervous or fearful as before, because she knew this time Landon Sutton would stand behind her to face the rumors, public opinions, and insults together.

The only concern was whether the child at school would be affected.

Turning on the TV, one channel was live streaming the development of this issue, with reporters crowded in front of Landon Sutton’s company, all eager to scoop new information for the first reports.

Landon Sutton mentioned on the phone that he would be back, and shortly after, on the live stream, he was seen coming out of the building surrounded by a group of assistants and bodyguards.

Reporters swarmed forward but were stopped by security, unable to get close, although their mouths couldn’t be stopped, and sharp questions buzzed around like bees.

"Mr. Sutton, when did you and Miss Quinn get together?"

"Did you really interfere with her marriage to the Rhodes Family’s second heir?"

"Was Miss Quinn’s divorce back then related to you?"

"Have you been together all these years?"

"Is it true that you are currently planning a wedding?"

Landon Sutton furrowed his brows slightly, although a bit impatient, he calmly responded with one sentence: "I’ll hold a press conference tomorrow at noon to clarify these matters, and everyone can come inside to have a seat then."

After finishing, Landon Sutton continued forward as a path opened by the bodyguards, with the arranged car pulling up at the roadside, allowing him to get in smoothly.

The reporters kept chasing but Ronan Rhodes stayed behind to deal with it, telling the reporters to wait for tomorrow’s press conference.

Seeing the main figure had left and promised a press conference, the reporters gradually dispersed.

Landon Sutton went straight home, and hearing movement at the door, Shannon Quinn hurried to the entrance, opening it to see Landon Sutton, and asked worriedly, "Are you okay?"

Landon Sutton shook his head, came inside, closed the door, and smiled to reassure Shannon Quinn’s unease: "It’s nothing major, I’ll explain everything tomorrow, don’t worry."

"Where’s Leo?"

"I had him sent directly to grandpa’s place, and I’ll pick him up once everything is settled."

Shannon Quinn nodded, agreeing that this arrangement was indeed appropriate.

Landon Sutton chuckled and said, "Causing this commotion isn’t entirely bad, it’s a perfect opportunity to fulfill my promise to you."

"Huh?" Shannon Quinn was a bit puzzled by the promise he referred to.

Landon Sutton deliberately kept it a secret, saying, "Why not join me at tomorrow morning’s press conference."

Shannon Quinn felt that as one of the people involved, she shouldn’t let Landon Sutton face everything alone, so accompanying him seemed right, although her mind was a mess, unsure how to handle it all.

"What should I do?" she asked.

Landon Sutton walked into the living room, directly took the cup she had been drinking from the coffee table, and took a sip, saying, "You can start by preparing lunch."

"I mean about tomorrow, during the press conference, you need to tell me what to say or do!"

Landon Sutton patted her head, saying, "I’m going with you; what’s there to fear?"

Shannon Quinn pouted, thinking he was right; with him by her side, there was no need to worry, as he would always find the best solution for everything.

"Who do you think leaked this information?"

Landon Sutton narrowed his eyes thoughtfully, seemingly having his suspicions already but only told Shannon Quinn, "It’s not something you should be concerned about. If you’re idle, why not take a nap?"

"If you want to sleep, do it yourself." Shannon Quinn wasn’t so naive anymore and wouldn’t believe that sleep meant just sleep.

"I’ll go out for a bit, make sure to prepare dinner on time; I plan to come back for it."

"Where are you going?"

"To take care of something."

"Be careful."

Landon Sutton smiled, grabbed his car keys, and headed out again.

Driving to a jewelry store he’d visited recently, the store manager immediately recognized him: "Mr. Sutton, what brings you here today?"

"Could I pick up the ring I ordered ahead of time?"

"It hasn’t been delivered to the store yet; wasn’t it agreed to come pick it up on the fifth?"

"I need it by tomorrow; could you please try to expedite it?"

Given the news circulating, the store employees naturally understood the sudden change of plans due to unforeseen events.

The store manager replied, "I’ll make a call to inquire. If it’s not possible, you might consider other available rings in our store."

"Please make the call first."

The store manager turned to make a phone call; the ring was custom-made, unique, symbolizing their first proposal, Shannon’s long-awaited day, for which Landon hoped to present her with the most special gift and memory.

"Mr. Sutton, the headquarters said they could expedite it tonight and have it delivered overnight, but it will be available to pick up tomorrow morning. Could you come in the morning?"

"What time in the morning?"

"Our store opens at nine."

"Six o’clock; I’ll send someone to collect it."

Valued as an important client, the store manager eagerly accommodated his request, saying, "I’ll come in early tomorrow to wait; the ring should be delivered by six, and someone can pick it up with the receipt then."

"Thank you." After speaking, Landon Sutton left the store, stopping by a flower shop to order a bouquet, set to be delivered to the office the next morning.

Originally undecided on how to propose to Shannon Quinn, he had spent considerable time pondering, even researching online but found cliche and lackluster options, but this twist of fate ended up being perfectly opportune.
