My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 334: I Only Say Goodnight to My Wife
CHAPTER 334: CHAPTER 334: I ONLY SAY GOODNIGHT TO MY WIFE
Shannon Quinn nearly cursed in her heart.
Stinky Fish: I only say goodnight to my wife.
Sweet Bunny: Okay then, President Sutton, you should rest early and not tire yourself out.
Now she’s showing concern, making Shannon Quinn regret meddling in this affair earlier.
Feeling embarrassed to delete it now, she leaves it there to tempt her husband, which irritates her.
Forget it, she’s curious about what tricks Sharon Griffin is trying to play.
The next day, Shannon Quinn went to the company with Landon Sutton; originally, she didn’t want to go to the meeting room.
But when she saw Sharon Griffin attending the meeting as an assistant, she followed her in.
During the meeting, Sharon Griffin gave a brief speech on stage with an annoyingly playful manner.
Before she noticed the flirting with Landon Sutton, Shannon Quinn may have thought it was a shy young girl new to the workplace, but now she finds it more and more pretentious.
When Landon Sutton stepped on stage to summarize, Shannon Quinn observed Sharon Griffin closely; her gaze barely left Landon’s body, full of admiration.
The more she watched, the more annoyed she became.
After the meeting, Shannon Quinn and Landon Sutton walked side by side, and Sharon Griffin approached: "Shannon, President Sutton, how about lunch together? I’ve invited Jett, as a thank you for both of your help."
Although the words were directed at Shannon Quinn, Sharon Griffin’s eyes kept darting to Landon Sutton’s face.
Landon Sutton was about to refuse, but Shannon Quinn interrupted, "Sure, let’s go to that restaurant from last time."
"No problem, I’ll have Jett book the table."
At noon, Shannon Quinn dragged Landon Sutton to the appointment on time.
When Shannon Quinn liked Sharon Griffin earlier, she was willing to overlook some of her prejudices against Jett Quinn.
But now, seeing the two sitting across from her, she only felt that whatever secrets they held weren’t good ones.
Although Jett was more subdued than before, he still wasn’t pleasant when talking.
Jett Quinn chuckled, "Sister, brother-in-law, who would have thought we’d be sitting together for a meal one day."
Landon Sutton: "Call her Mrs. Rhodes."
Jett Quinn: "Oh, my bad memory, Shannon is now on top, having forgotten her roots."
Under the table, Sharon Griffin tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "You should say less!"
Jett Quinn stayed silent, smiling at Shannon and then taking a sip of tea.
Landon Sutton suddenly spoke: "Weren’t you saying you were breaking up last night? How come you got back together?"
Sharon Griffin froze, likely not expecting Landon Sutton to reveal last night’s conversation.
Shannon Quinn was a bit surprised too, then thought he must have checked her and Sharon’s chat afterward.
Shannon Quinn played along with Landon Sutton: "Who’s breaking up?"
Sharon Griffin laughed dryly: "Couples always say breakup when they argue, but deep down, they can’t bear to really part."
Shannon Quinn feigned surprise: "I wondered why Nate was glued to his phone last night, turns out he was chatting with Sharon. What were you two talking about?"
Sharon Griffin: "...Just work stuff."
Landon Sutton replied with a sarcastic smile towards Shannon Quinn: "Don’t you already know what you’re talking about?"
Shannon Quinn continued to act dramatically: "Well, Sharon is new to the workplace, the gap between outside and school is big, with many issues in both work and life. It’s good Nate can help you out."
Sharon Griffin forced a smile: "Yes, President Sutton is great at comforting people."
Shannon Quinn then realized Sharon Griffin was also a drama queen, subtly twisting the knife.
Luckily, Shannon Quinn knows everything; otherwise, she’d struggle against such a deceptive woman.
Shannon Quinn: "Sharon, if you have any emotional issues in the future, you can talk to me. Nate’s work is busy, so he might not have time to guide you."
Sharon Griffin: "Actually, last night I wanted to talk to Shannon, but I only had President Sutton’s WeChat, and he said you were asleep, so I didn’t want to disturb you."
So, she directly disturbs her husband? What a bizarre reason!
Fortunately, Landon Sutton isn’t someone with negative emotional intelligence; he even saw through Sharon Griffin’s trick before she did.
If it were any other overly kind person, they might have fallen right into Sharon Griffin’s trap.
Shannon Quinn: "Jett, shouldn’t you care more about Sharon? Late-night talks on life and ideals with another man; aren’t you afraid Sharon might change her heart?"
Jett Quinn just smiled, and Sharon Griffin seemed to sense the meaning behind Shannon Quinn’s words, apologizing: "Sorry Shannon, I might have caused misunderstandings. But I and President Sutton only exchanged a few words, and he always mentioned you. If you mind, I won’t contact President Sutton again."
Shannon Quinn: "It’s okay, I didn’t misunderstand. I know you were just uncomfortable and wanted some comfort. I understand, and now that you and Jett are fine, I thought you were actually going to break up."
The meal seemed pleasant, but everyone had their own underlying thoughts.
In the afternoon, Shannon Quinn needed to go to the studio, so she didn’t return to the company with Landon Sutton.
She stayed busy until Landon Sutton came to pick her up after work. She got in the car and tiredly leaned against the passenger seat: "Wow, it’s been awhile since I worked so diligently; it’s almost too much to handle."
Landon Sutton: "Haven’t I told you to quit?"
Shannon Quinn: "If I quit, how would you live off me?"
Landon Sutton chuckled: "That’s true."
Shannon Quinn: "Did she reach out to you in the afternoon?"
Landon Sutton: "She did."
Shannon Quinn frowned, curious as she took his phone and checked Sharon Griffin’s chat window, browsing the conversation records.
It started with a crying emoji.
Sweet Bunny: President Sutton, I’m sorry, I didn’t expect Shannon to misunderstand about you and me; she didn’t argue with you, did she?
Sweet Bunny: I always thought Shannon was a generous person and wouldn’t care.
Sweet Bunny: President Sutton, should I apologize to Shannon, and maybe explain the situation for you?
Stinky Fish: Using your phone for non-work matters during work, just leave after your internship ends.
Sweet Bunny: Woooo, President Sutton, I was wrong.
Sweet Bunny: I will focus on work now.
Stinky Fish didn’t reply.
Two hours later, Sweet Bunny sent another message: New to the department, unfamiliar with everyone, feeling everyone is so capable while I’m not. Am I too stupid?
Stinky Fish didn’t reply.
Five minutes later.
Sweet Bunny: President Sutton, are you in a meeting?
Stinky Fish didn’t reply.
Ten minutes later: It’s almost time to leave. Do you want to have dinner together, or will you cook for Shannon tonight?
Stinky Fish: Mm.
Stinky Fish: The company won’t pay someone who chats all day. How did you manage to pass the interview?
