CHAPTER 4: CHAPTER 4: YOU SELL, I BUY

June Yardley is the fiancée of Simon Rhodes, the eldest son of the Rhodes Family. The two were childhood friends and their marriage was arranged, but until now, Simon hasn’t married her and doesn’t seem to have any feelings for her. June has always been the one performing a one-person show.

Simon Rhodes has always taken care of his sister-in-law, Shannon Quinn, but it’s not a romantic kind of care. He occasionally speaks up for her in the Rhodes Family.

However, June Yardley is dissatisfied with this. She is likely worried that Simon Rhodes might develop other feelings for Shannon Quinn, so she has plans to drive Shannon out of the Rhodes Family.

Shannon Quinn knows she cannot act recklessly. After all, losing her virginity after marriage would be her disrespecting the Rhodes Family, no matter the reason. So she cannot let June Yardley know what happened last night.

The honor of the Rhodes Family and Vincent’s face, she cannot afford to gamble.

However, she will not forget to demand justice for herself.

When Shannon Quinn walked into the inner hall, she saw someone from afar and was immediately stunned, her eyes wide open in amazement.

Landon Sutton?! Why is he here?!

Feeling guilty, worried that Landon Sutton might reveal what happened last night, she sneaks around to hide behind a pillar and listens to Simon Rhodes and Landon’s conversation.

It seems they’re discussing investments, Shannon Quinn breathes a sigh of relief, perhaps he doesn’t know she’s a member of the Rhodes Family.

"Visiting as soon as I return to the country, I didn’t know today is the day of ancestor worship, many apologies for any offense."

"You’re too polite, Mr. Sutton. If you’re not in a hurry, why not sit outside first and join us for lunch?"

As Landon Sutton spoke, his gaze wandered around before locking on the space behind a pillar in his view, and he said, "Alright."

Simon Rhodes followed Landon Sutton’s gaze towards that direction and immediately called out, "Shannon?"

Shannon Quinn’s spine stiffened, she hesitantly came out from behind the pillar, a guilty look at Landon Sutton, but he smiled and seemed unsurprised to see her.

"This is Vincent’s wife," Simon Rhodes said, and then to Shannon Quinn, "This is Mr. Landon Sutton."

After saying this, Simon Rhodes observed the expressions of the two with slightly complex eyes.

Landon Sutton smiled at Shannon Quinn, extending his right hand, "Hello."

Shannon Quinn truly didn’t want any more contact with him, but out of politeness, she reached out and lightly touched his fingertips, hastily said, "Hello," and then let go.

"Shannon, take Mr. Sutton outside for a while. I heard Mr. Sutton has some knowledge in fashion design, you two can chat."

Shannon Quinn quickly said, "Big brother, Aunt just asked me to help her."

"No problem, there are plenty of people to help, you accompany Mr. Sutton."

Simon Rhodes finished and turned to another side to delegate tasks to his subordinates, leaving Shannon Quinn awkwardly standing in front of Landon Sutton.

"Didn’t expect to meet so soon again."

Upon hearing this from Landon Sutton, Shannon Quinn couldn’t help but retort, "What do you mean you didn’t expect it? I think you did it on purpose."

"Still not over it? What’s there to be angry about the deal between us? Not enough money for you?"

"Who sold anything?! Watch your words!"

"If they find out about last night, what do you think will happen?"

Landon Sutton’s tone was indifferent, but Shannon Quinn could hear the threat in his words.

Leading him towards the outer hall, Shannon Quinn lowered her voice and said to him, "I’m warning you, don’t play any tricks, if anything happens to me, don’t expect to have good days either!"

"Not much skill, but lots of bravado."

Shannon Quinn glared at him fiercely but restrained herself as there were too many people around.

Bringing him to the outer hall, Shannon Quinn turned to leave when Landon Sutton said, "Your big brother said to keep me company?"
