My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 464: Her Husband Is Landon Sutton
CHAPTER 464: CHAPTER 464: HER HUSBAND IS LANDON SUTTON
The men behind Marshall couldn’t help but laugh at the blonde woman’s words, but they immediately fell silent when Marshall glared at them.
Marshall seemed to be a man who cared about face; there was no way he could just let it slide when his woman was bullied.
"Alright, baby, stop crying, your makeup is all messed up."
The blonde woman, however, was getting even more dramatic, sobbing and saying, "Marshall... you must get justice for me."
"Don’t worry." Marshall said as he turned his gaze towards Shannon Quinn and the other two.
With his hands in his pockets, slightly shrugging his shoulders, he looked at them with disdain: "Which one of you hit her?"
Shannon Quinn smiled and said, "I did. So what? Do you want a slap too and then cuddle up with your little lover and cry together?"
Marshall chuckled, "This little girl’s got no skills but she sure can talk."
He eyed the three of them from head to toe, "Now, listen, I’m not a ruthless person, and I’ve never hit a woman, especially not one who’s pregnant. But my woman won’t be bullied either. Just apologize nicely to my baby, and this will be over."
The blonde woman immediately protested, clinging to Marshall’s arm and whining, "Marshall! You can’t just let it go! Look, my face is all swollen from the slap! It still hurts right now!"
Erin Bishop stepped forward and said, "Of course it can’t just end like this. Your baby didn’t watch where she was going and ran into me. Now my stomach is suddenly aching. I don’t know if it affected the baby."
As she spoke, Erin feigned covering her stomach and started to moan in pain. Susan Wilde wasn’t sure if it was real or not and quickly reached out to support her.
Seizing the moment, Shannon Quinn stepped forward to negotiate, "I, Quinn, am not an unreasonable person. I won’t ask you for medical expenses, after all, we’re not short of money. But have your baby apologize to my friend, and this’ll be settled."
On hearing Shannon Quinn mimic him, Marshall hissed, "Girl, don’t refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit. I may not hit women, but the men behind me don’t share my chivalry."
At his words, the men behind Marshall flexed their muscles; one might think they were instructors out recruiting for a gym.
Shannon Quinn, rather than being afraid, stepped forward: "Let me tell you, if anyone dares to lay a finger on me, you’ll regret it for the rest of your life."
"Marshall, look at her! She needs to be taught a lesson!"
Marshall embraced his darling, smiling, "What are you playing at, girl? Do you even know whose turf you are on to be acting bold here?"
Shannon Quinn: "Alright, then bring out your boss. Maybe he’ll have some sense?"
"You? Meet our boss?" Marshall stepped back a bit as he mocked, "I suppose you’re just brash without ever having faced reality?"
"Girl, I gave you a chance, but you didn’t appreciate it," Marshall paused, hugging the blonde woman, and ordered his brothers, "Teach them a lesson."
The blonde woman eagerly added, "Finish them off! Bunch of bitches!"
The three of them might have had an edge when it came to verbal sparring, but they were no match for the thugs if it came to fighting.
Besides, all were expecting, Shannon Quinn thought her threats would scare them off.
"Wait!" Shannon Quinn extended her hand as she backed away, trying to negotiate with the men about to make a move, "Wait! Do you even know who I am before you act?"
The men halted and glanced at Marshall for his signal.
Erin Bishop was equally nervous, knowing they’d be in trouble if things escalated, and hurriedly pointed at Shannon, "Her husband is Landon Sutton!"
Hearing this name, the group was taken aback, while the blonde woman mocked, "Your husband is Landon Sutton?! Mine is Simon Rhodes! Shame on you!"
Skylar Vance couldn’t help but interject, "Simon Rhodes is my husband."
The woman laughed loudly, "Are you forming a team to daydream together?"
One of the men approached Marshall and whispered to him, "Marshall, that woman does look a bit familiar."
Marshall hesitated. If they were indeed the wives of the Rhodes family brothers, he couldn’t afford to offend them.
The blonde woman urged him, "Marshall, they’re lying. Don’t fall for their nonsense!"
Erin Bishop quickly whispered to Shannon Quinn, "Call your husband fast."
Shannon Quinn replied softly, "Even if I call now, it might be too late. Besides, if I call, won’t they realize the truth?"
"If we don’t call now, we’ll be the ones getting beaten."
Shannon Quinn hesitantly fumbled for her phone in her bag, but the woman suddenly rushed over and snatched it, shouting, "Trying to call the cops? Good at stirring trouble but can’t handle it?"
After grabbing Shannon’s phone, the blonde said to the brothers, "Take them on, and if anything happens, I’ll take the blame!"
Seeing the situation turning worse, the three of them retreated repeatedly. Just as they were cornered against the wall with fists about to fall, a voice commanded, "Stop!"
The crowd turned to look, and Shannon Quinn carefully opened her eyes to spot the man striding over in a black suit, and excitedly exclaimed, "Ronan Rhodes!"
Marshall quickly approached with a sycophantic smile, "Young Master Law, what brings you here?"
Ronan didn’t respond, he only stepped in front of Shannon Quinn and the others, dispersing the thugs, and frowned asking them, "Are you all okay?"
Shannon Quinn chuckled, "Another second and we wouldn’t have been."
Marshall leaned forward cautiously, "Young Master Law, are these three...your girls?"
Ronan glared at him, coldly asking, "Don’t recognize them?"
Marshall took a closer look at the three and shook his head, "My eyes failed me."
Ronan: "How can you not know them and still wander the streets?"
Marshall felt he’d stumbled into trouble, but wanted to understand who these ladies were and to plead his case, "These ladies and Jade had a bit of a misunderstanding. We’re just here to clear it up, nothing more."
The blonde woman, not yet surveying the situation, protested, "They started it!"
Ronan sneered and began introductions, "This is my sister-in-law."
Marshall was shocked, "Lord Thorne’s wife?!"
Ronan continued, "This is Master Nate’s wife."
The crowd was stunned.
"And this is Master Nate’s sister-in-law." Finishing his sentence, Ronan slapped the still-shocked Marshall on the head, "Can you afford to provoke them, and you even order people to attack?!"
Marshall trembled, falling to his knees, "I didn’t realize, forgive me, ladies, have mercy on a fool like me!"
The blonde woman frowned, unwilling to relent, "It was their fault in the first place!"
Hearing this, Marshall was enraged, stood up, and gave her a heavy slap, "You stupid woman, apologize now!"
