CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 53: HELP ME

"Jett Quinn, what are you doing?!"

Shannon Quinn’s words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Jett Quinn approached Erin Bishop and pinned her against the wall. Erin furrowed her brows and raised her hand, delivering a heavy slap across Jett Quinn’s face. "Get out of my way!"

Jett Quinn let out a cold laugh, covering his slapped face with one hand, while swiftly grabbing Erin Bishop’s neck with the other. "Hitting me?!"

"Jett Quinn!" Shannon Quinn tried to separate the two, but Jett Quinn swung his arm, causing Shannon to stumble back, barely steadying herself by holding onto the sofa behind her.

"Call... the police," Erin Bishop mouthed, unable to speak as Jett Quinn tightened his grip on her throat.

Shannon Quinn had seen Jett Quinn’s violent side before. Now reeking of alcohol, words alone wouldn’t deter him. Watching Erin Bishop’s face turning purple from a lack of oxygen, she feared the situation could turn deadly.

By the time the police arrived, it might be too late. Remembering she’d seen Landon Sutton on the balcony earlier, she rushed out the door, frantically knocking on his door in desperation.

Landon Sutton opened the door, initially wearing a teasing smile, but upon seeing Shannon Quinn’s terrified expression, his face turned serious. "What’s wrong?"

Grabbing his arm, Shannon pulled him towards her room, her voice trembling. "Help me..."

The urgency and fear in her voice tugged at Landon Sutton’s heart. Without waiting for an explanation, he reached the doorway and saw the scene inside.

"Oh? You’re quick to call for help?" Jett Quinn turned his head to see Landon Sutton enter, releasing Erin Bishop, who collapsed to the floor, coughing violently.

Shannon Quinn wanted to rush over to check on Erin Bishop, but Landon Sutton pulled her behind him protectively.

At that moment, standing behind Landon Sutton, Shannon Quinn felt a sense of security, especially as his hand gripped her arm tightly, it was as if nothing bad would happen as long as he was there.

She forgot her inner resentment towards him and only thought of him as their lifeline now.

"Sister, this isn’t right. Bringing in some random guy to deal with your own brother?"

Hearing Jett Quinn’s words to Shannon Quinn, Landon Sutton frowned, realizing this was a member of the Quinn Family. He had come across this person in his investigations about Shannon Quinn but had paid him little mind.

"Come here." Jett Quinn smiled and beckoned Shannon Quinn over. "Come to your brother."

Shannon Quinn didn’t dare move, but Landon Sutton shielded her further, looking at Jett Quinn and saying, "Walk out yourself or get carried out."

"Oh, such bold words. Even if the three of you together might not take me on, who knows who’d end up getting carried out?"

Landon Sutton merely smiled without a word as Jett Quinn approached. He shifted slightly, and as Jett Quinn neared him and Shannon Quinn, he quietly told her, "Go back to the room and don’t come out."

Shannon Quinn, worriedly glanced at Landon Sutton, thinking as a businessman, he might not be good at fighting, whereas Jett Quinn, a long-time street thug, was ruthless despite lacking professional training.

Landon Sutton gently nudged Shannon Quinn’s back. "Take your friend inside."

Shannon Quinn looked at Erin Bishop, still on the floor struggling, before rushing over to her side under Landon Sutton’s protection. As Jett Quinn turned to grab Shannon Quinn, Landon Sutton intercepted by grabbing Jett Quinn’s arm.

With a swift spin, he broke free, and Jett Quinn’s fist swung heavily towards Landon Sutton.

Having trained extensively in close combat, Landon Sutton easily dodged Jett Quinn’s punch.

He retaliated with a fist to Jett Quinn’s jaw.

Supporting Erin Bishop while walking into the room, Shannon Quinn glanced back, worriedly watching Landon Sutton.

Seeing the two men evenly matched, she finally closed the door and helped Erin Bishop onto the bed.

"Rona, are you alright?"

Erin Bishop sat on the edge of the bed, took a deep breath, and then reached for her phone on the bed. "That bastard, he’s out of control. I’m calling the police!"

Shannon Quinn hesitated about stopping her, fearing this wouldn’t be enough to put Jett Quinn away, and if he found out she’d called the police, he’d make her life even harder.

But given the current situation, they needed the police to end it.

Hearing glass breaking and Jett Quinn cursing outside, but no sound from Landon Sutton, she worried about his safety. Carefully, she opened the door ajar, bending down to peek outside.

Just in time to see Landon Sutton kick Jett Quinn to the ground, sending him crashing into the coffee table, which slid half a meter. Cups and a fruit platter tumbled to the floor, littering water and fruit everywhere.

Apart from slightly disheveled clothes, Landon Sutton seemed unharmed, whereas Jett Quinn had a few facial injuries.

Watching Landon Sutton, bent over and pinning Jett Quinn to the floor by an arm, Shannon Quinn genuinely thought he looked dashing.

"With skills like yours, you only dare bully women."

Jett Quinn, lying on the floor, tried to struggle up, but Landon Sutton pressed him harder down, saying, "I don’t care what your relationship is with her. If you ever bother her again, things won’t be as simple as today."

Shannon Quinn, caught in the moment, noticed Jett Quinn’s hand reaching for a fruit knife that had fallen from the table. She quickly reacted, rushing forward to snatch it away.

Landon Sutton glanced up at her. "What are you doing out here? Get back inside."

Swallowing hard, Shannon Quinn clutched the fruit knife tightly. If murder were legal, she’d truly want to kill Jett Quinn, ending the childhood nightmares and any future fears.

"...Rona already called the police, they’ll be here soon."

Landon Sutton, holding Jett Quinn’s hands, looked around, then grabbed a belt from Shannon Quinn’s discarded coat on the sofa, tying Jett Quinn’s hands.

"Sister, is this how you conspire with outsiders against your dear brother?"

Shannon Quinn pursed her lips, staying silent.

"Come on, help your brother out here."

Instead of moving forward, Shannon Quinn stepped back. She was truly scared. Jett Quinn’s presence felt like a ticking time bomb, ready to explode anytime. She had never wished for someone’s death maliciously; Jett Quinn was the only exception.

Since childhood, she had been hoping for this moment...
