CHAPTER 55: CHAPTER 55: CAN’T I WAIT FOR HER TO GET DIVORCED?

Seeing Landon’s face not looking good, Ronan hesitated and closed his mouth. Once the doctor finished treating the wound, Ronan finally said, "Master Nate, I’ve heard that the woman you’re interested in is already married."

"Why do you talk so much?"

"I’m just worried you’ll be emotionally deceived. I’ve heard that woman is the daughter-in-law of the Rhodes Family. Even if you like her, you can’t have her. So don’t do anything foolish in the future."

"When your brother returns, coordinate your work with him and let him stay here."

Upon hearing this, Ronan quickly protested, "Don’t, Master Nate. I’m just concerned about you. If you think I’m talking too much, I’ll simply say less in the future."

After speaking, he couldn’t help but quietly mutter, "That woman isn’t anything special. There are plenty of beautiful women out there. Master Nate, there’s no need to hang yourself on one tree. Maybe the next flower is even prettier?"

"Did I say I like her?"

Ronan heard this and smiled knowingly, "You might be able to hide it from others, but not from me. The company desks never used to have so many fashion magazines, and I’ve looked into them — it’s either Shannon Quinn’s special edition or her column. I never knew you had an interest in fashion."

Landon raised an eyebrow slightly, listening as Ronan continued to analyze, "Also, you may not be aware, but whenever you see Shannon Quinn, you lose your spirit — your gaze follows her. I think anyone with eyes can see you’re interested in her."

Landon lowered his head, buttoning his shirt, murmuring, "Is it that obvious?"

"Master Nate, are you seriously moved?"

"Do you have an opinion?"

Seeing Landon not deny it, Ronan looked as if he’d seen a ghost, "She is Vincent Rhodes’s wife. Although Vincent Rhodes is practically a living dead, you are a man of status. It’s not good for your reputation to involve yourself in someone else’s marriage, Master Nate."

Landon chuckled lightly, "Can’t I wait for her to divorce?"

"What if she doesn’t divorce? Are you going to wait a lifetime? I say you simply haven’t seen enough women. Once your injury heals, I’ll take you out to have some fun. I can find you any type you want. Why humble yourself for a second-hand woman?"

Just as Ronan finished speaking, Landon’s face turned stern, "Say one more word about her?"

"My mistake, my mistake, Miss Quinn is as beautiful as a fairy, perfectly suited for you!" Ronan said with his mouth, but inwardly he thought Landon was starting to protect her even before marrying her.

Previously, he was urging Landon to find a woman, but now that Landon had found one, Ronan regretted it because it seemed Landon was choosing beauty over his legacy.

"Master Nate, I’ve always been curious about how you met her. You’ve just returned from Dragonspire, how did you hook up so quickly?"

"You’re quite curious about these things. If you focused more on work, I would save a lot of effort."

Ronan thought they couldn’t talk anymore, as Landon would reprimand him for anything, "I may not have achievements, but I’ve worked hard. You are biased towards my brother; whatever he does is good, while I haven’t heard any praise for what I do."

"Should I give you an award?"

"Alright, alright, I won’t bother you anymore. You rest early and stop messing aimlessly. I don’t want to run from my tender place in the middle of the night to attend to you."

"I’ve heard recently that many AIDS patients are taking revenge on society, you better be cautious."

"Go ahead and curse me. You’re teaming up with my brother; I’m just a lonely cabbage that nobody loves or cares for," Ronan acted pitifully and pretended to wipe tears before picking up his phone, sending messages to his tender place while walking out the door.

At night, Shannon Quinn woke abruptly from a nightmare, dreaming of a fight between Landon Sutton and Jett Quinn, where Jett picked up a fruit knife from the floor and stabbed it into Landon Sutton’s abdomen. She woke up instantly.

Sitting up from the bedside, she glanced at the sleeping Erin Bishop next to her, took a deep breath, and was relieved that it was just a dream.

She picked up the water cup from the bedside table and took a sip, recalling the previous images. Was she seeing stains of blood on Landon Sutton’s shirt?

Speaking of which, she didn’t know how Vincent Rhodes was doing. After taking care of him for so many days, he was like an ungrateful wolf, disappearing without a trace as soon as he left, severing contact.

Knowing she was pregnant, he still acted as if he didn’t care.

However, after all, the child wasn’t his. Even though he agreed to let the child be born, there must still be a barrier in his heart.

She sighed softly and checked the time on her phone; it was just after three.

In the past, she would wake up in the middle of the night, see that it was only two or three, and think she could continue sleeping; now she was waiting for daylight.

With so much on her mind, it seemed she couldn’t sleep well.

After waking up, she slept fitfully, half-asleep, half-awake. At a little past five, Shannon Quinn got up from bed.

The sky was slightly bright, and she fetched a pot of water to the balcony to water the flowers.

The air was chilly at dawn, feeling especially fresh.

The potted gardenias bloomed, with a faint fragrance brought by the morning breeze.

Shannon Quinn sat on a rattan chair on the balcony, closing her eyes and enjoying the silence of the moment.

The sun rose slowly, its morning light gentle, as various sounds gradually filled her ears.

Shannon Quinn stretched lazily, unexpectedly falling asleep there. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she looked up and saw a man standing on the opposite balcony.

She was startled, looking at Landon Sutton smoking on the opposite, and once noticing him, his gaze seemed fixed on her side.

She quickly turned her gaze away, pretending not to see him, but he raised his hand to greet her, "Morning."

The voice was just right for her to hear.

Shannon Quinn’s steps paused, thinking of the favor she owed him last night. Out of courtesy, she turned and smiled at him before rushing into the house.

She didn’t know why her face turned red and her heart raced. She used to avoid seeing him, but now seemed afraid to see him, unsure of what attitude to use facing him.

"Shannon, why are you up so early?"

As Shannon Quinn entered the house, she saw Erin Bishop coming out of the bathroom, smiling awkwardly, "I just woke up."

"What time do you start work? Sleep a bit more."

"I can’t sleep once I’m awake. You sleep a bit more; I’ll call you when breakfast is ready."

Erin Bishop smiled contentedly, rubbed her messy hair, and walked towards the bedroom saying, "I feel like marrying you."

Shannon Quinn walked into the kitchen, noticing the previously bought ingredients were hardly touched.

Since Vincent Rhodes left, she’d lost the spirit to cook, preferring to order takeout for herself.
