My Mysterious Hidden Husband
Chapter 6: The Rhodes Family’s Secret
CHAPTER 6: CHAPTER 6: THE RHODES FAMILY’S SECRET
After the ancestor worship ceremony, Shannon Quinn hurriedly ate a few bites of food and left the Rhodes Family under the pretense of work.
Because at the dining table, Landon Sutton was there, occasionally giving her strange looks, making her feel uncomfortable and feeling it was best to leave early.
Simon Rhodes had always been quite considerate towards her and specifically arranged for a driver to escort her all the way to the door when she left.
Shannon Quinn was very clear that Simon Rhodes’s kindness to her was just like an elder caring for a younger person, more like he was taking care of her on behalf of his younger brother.
Actually, Shannon Quinn also had many doubts in her heart. She had privately tried probing Simon Rhodes about Vincent Rhodes’s matters.
She felt Simon Rhodes knew the inside story but was unwilling to tell her anything, simply asking her to live peacefully in the Rhodes Family, promising her a satisfactory answer in the future.
Shannon Quinn wasn’t particularly keen on uncovering the Rhodes Family’s secrets; she just felt curious, considering it was her husband after all. After two years of marriage, she only knew basic information about her husband from unverifiable rumors and hadn’t even met him in person.
But she had slowly gotten used to her current life, and apart from moving into a big house, it was not much different from before she got married.
Every day she focused on her work professionally, coming and going from work, with only herself at home, feeling quite free.
It was certainly better than having a temperamental man using the husband title to vent anger at her.
When she first got married, she thought she might be abused and considered all sorts of strange possibilities yet never imagined it would be like this.
Sometimes she couldn’t understand why the Rhodes Family spent money to bring her in as a bride in the first place.
She went home to get her work materials and went straight to the studio.
She studied fine arts in college and later met a mentor in fashion design, who taught her hands-on and turned her into a fashion designer.
Because of her drawing foundation, learning wasn’t so hard for her.
The studio was also opened by her mentor, who was a man nearing thirty but looked quite young because of his good fashion sense and had a certain level of international fame.
All in all, her career was progressing forward.
Including her, there were more than a dozen designers at the studio, around the same age, and they all got along well.
But she hadn’t told anyone around her about her marriage.
One could say her relationship with the Rhodes Family was known only to the insiders, as it wasn’t formally announced when they got married. There was no so-called wedding, just a signed marriage agreement, and then she moved into the house she’s currently living in, having not even seen the marriage certificate to this day.
"Quinn, did you fall in love? You’ve been taking leave every few days and sneaking off for dates?"
"No such thing! Just the seasonal flu, not feeling well, that’s all."
"We’re all worried, you say if you secretly find a boyfriend, what about our boss?"
Shannon Quinn quickly glared at her gossiping colleague, "Don’t talk nonsense!"
With a burst of laughter, Shannon Quinn soon immersed herself in her work.
Yet her thoughts were still affected by last night’s events. Biting the pencil end and staring at the drawing paper, she hesitated to start drawing.
Flashes of embarrassing scenes passed in her mind, causing her face to flush immediately, followed by a forceful pat on her head, internally hypnotizing herself not to think about last night’s events anymore.
